The Whistler Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 This is a must win weekend for the Fighting Sioux to stay ahead in the exhibition season. It would be absolutely unacceptable for the team to come out flat. I know some of the Hak apologists will claim that the half the team isn't old enough to vote but that is not good enough on a Fighting Sioux Team. Is it too early for the "Fire Hak" thread? Quote
dj_hoime Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 9-2 VandeVelde with the Hatty!! Wow its been a long time since the last game! Lets Go Sioux! Quote

Big A HG Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 9-3 VV, a "welcome back" for LaPoint, Malone, Malone, Gregoire, Cichy, Rowney, Davidson, Duncan (oops!), Frattin (err!), Fienhage Quote
Big A HG Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 A few notes from the media day from the men's side: "The Ralph Engelstad Arena Hockey Academy crew with UND ties (Brad Berry and Erik Fabian) was there, making probably their first appearance at media day in three years. Hakstol took a crack at Fabian for elbowin his way to front of the lunch buffet line. Hakstol said most years there's some varied voting for captains. Not this year, he said, calling the voting of Chay Genoway, Chris VandeVelde and Darcy Zajac "absolute." The big questions for Hakstol is how is UND going to replace it's scoring, role players and leadership from the last senior class. One thing he said he does know, is the the coaching staff feels strongly about the centers. "That's a good place to start. The rest of the puzzle will have to come together." Hakstol noted that Ben Blood has continued to improve since he first stepped on campus 12 months ago. Brad Eidsness comes into the goalie spot at No. 1, but will need to work hard every game and practice to keep it. Despite the tasty chicken sandwiches and soup, Genoway and VandeVelde opted to share a sandwich. Best quote from Hakstol: "If we can build chemisty, we have the ability. We just need to put things together to build a single minded machine." Quote
Tommiejo Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Quick question. Is the game going to broadcast on the web & if so how do I go about getting it? If anyone has the answer could they please be kind enough to post it please thank you. SIOUX FAN SINCE 1973. Quote

If anyone has the answer could they please be kind enough to post it please thank you. SIOUX FAN SINCE 1973. If you have access to Fox College Sports on either cable television or on DirecTV you will be able to see it there. It should also be available on the Internet at www.fightingsioux.com. The webcast isn't free, but can be purchased by the game, the month or for the year. Quote
redwing77 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 This Manitoba team isn't the same without the 6 year veteran Krister Toews in nets. Then again, why would the CIAU allow a 30 year old goaltender? There are a fefw 25 year old canadians on the Manitoba team. Best beware.... some Gopher trolls might confuse them with UND. Quote

BigGreyAnt41 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Just called Comcast to get the FCS Channels. I'm so pumped to get the games in TV quality instead of webcast. I also found out they added ESPNU! That will great when tournament time comes around. Quote
UND in Ohio Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 can't get access to the fcs quite yet, anyone with a radio link to the game?? Quote

siouxfan77 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Nothing irritates me more than having to work tonite., and consequently miss the webcast of the game. I'll be checking in often, though. GO SIOUX!!!!!!! Quote

Vegas1 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 9-2 VandeVelde with the Hatty!! Wow its been a long time since the last game! Lets Go Sioux! This year's Bison team is not quite the push overs that have visited in the past. There are three 88's on this team that won a World Championship with the older Toews a few years ago. They may not have enough this year, but watch out next year or the year after. Some of these boys are character players and can play. Quote
