Look out for Wisconsin. We saw how good they can look last Saturday, and now they put 66 shots on goal. 66. Wow. Lot of hockey left this weekend, but we could see a Big 10 cage match play-in game between MN and Wisconsin, with the loser maybe done for the year.

Didn't Wisconsin finish 3rd? If so, it couldn't be the play-in game they play against each other.

Yep. My mistake. If the top 3 win, then it'd be DU/UW in the semis, giving DU a chance to send UW home for the year. Interesting, since UW ended Denver's season last year in the Madison regional.

Oh that could be a really good game to watch as well.

I was at the CC/UMD game last night and my first observation for th game was that Stalock outplayed bachman. he was solid in the crease and neve lsot balance. The one goal he let though was the third break away and th shot on goal of a 5-3 powerplay. The bull dogs looked hungry and stron tongiht skating faster and digging for pucks. they may have not won the most face offfs, but they got the puck out of the corner 3 out of four times. More to coem from tonights game.

I can't wait for a Sioux/Gopher Friday night game. 6-2 good guys.

To tell you the truth, I don't want to be anywhere near the Gophers at the X. They have our number there. I don't want to play them again in the post season, not when we've already beaten them twice this year and ended their seasons the last couple years...ANYTHING can happen when the Sioux and Gophers play.

I was switching between Sioux and Gopher games last night. I disagree with the statement that SCSU sucks. It was 2-1 Gophers with SCSU dominating the play in the third period. Little Balls then scored a nice goal using the dman as a screen...Weslowski had no chance. Then Roe poked one in to make it 3-2. SCSU had the goalie pulled and had a couple decent looks before the empty netter iced it for the Gophers.

It will be interesting to see how SCSU responds tonight...they will either come out flying or else throw in the towel.

Interesting to hear Mansucko refer to the Gophers first line as the best in college hockey...homer...good talent, but not the best line in college hockey.

It was also interesting to hear Wooger talk play calling with the empty net talking positioning and how to load the corners and deep, work the puck on the strong side and look for the open dman on the weak side. Mansucko asked which side was the "weak" side...the man doesn't know hockey. Wooger certainly does. Too bad they can't get another guy to do the play by play with Wooger...it might be tolerable then.

I think Wooger is starting to lose it a little bit though, which is unfortunate because I really like the color and hockey knowledge that he brings to the table. But I've really noticed this season that he is struggling at times, like he can't find the words to say what he wants...and while he has always struggled with names, it has really gotten bad this year.

Though I HIGHLY DOUBT a high scoring blowout like our regular season matchup again if we were to face Minny at the X and though Minny has had our number there as of late, I'd still take them on this year.

They don't have the defense to contain us if they play the kind of game they've played in 2009 so far. Their offense is still potent and cannot be ignored, but I don't see them being able to contain us if we can play our game. Seriously, these past two years saw the Gophers have some of the worst defensive play that I can remember.

The only difference being that last year Kangas was a rock back in net.

This year he looks lost most of the time.

Comparing his numbers from his FR to SO season is crazy.

I just hate the venue when playing the Gophs...stupid rouser...I hated the walk down West 7th after the Wheeler goal, and I hated the walk down West 7th after losing in 2004...My value add from a victory is proportionately smaller than my sadness from losing to the Gophers.
