dagies Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Monster win and some good hard effort rewarded at the end. Good night in the end. Quote
OETKB Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Well, they managed to win. Not exactly the kind of game that inspires images of WCHA Championships, but I'll take it. Overall, though, I just think this game was pretty sloppy by UND. They have a lot more to give than they gave tonight. Quote
redwing77 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I don't understand all the bitching. Sioux are playing very hard. They haven't matched up well against UAA the last couple years - they're big and can skate and they do an outstanding job clogging up the neutral zone. I don't question the work ethic. I question why we weren't simply playing the type of game that would beat the defensive system. You can't play a finesse game in a physical contest. Hakstol realizes this otherwise he would have rested up Hextall and played Toews instead. If they clog the neutral zone, then we have to crack that and simply get the puck on net any way we can. Genoway won the game tonight because he simply shot the puck and didn't worry about how pretty it was going to be. It was a garbage goal, plain and simple. Aided by the fact that Christianson lost track of the puck. But it counts just as much as the prettiest goal. That's my point. Quote
sioux rube Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 WOOOOOOO!!! Made it worth staying up past my bedtime. That was a good win.Yep me to.Good nite. Quote

dallassiouxfan Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 That dude over the right shoulder of the announcer has a serious Skullet!!! Good stuff. Quote
SiouxMeNow Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I also noticed the arena cleared out really fast...I guess it doesn't take long for 29 people to leave Sullivan as long as they DON'T ALL LEAVE AT ONCE! Quote
WiSioux Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I like that announcer guy. I thought he did a fantastic job. I believe he was a radio announcer who also happened to be doing the tv announcing, that's why he was doing such a good play by play and not just randomly chatting. Quote
SiouxMeNow Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 That dude over the right shoulder of the announcer has a serious Skullet!!! Good stuff. MULLET-TOR!!! MASTER of the UAA-verse! Quote
808287 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 AZSioux was right a bit ago, BE was the difference tonight. A freshman who can make the difference in a road win...I think he's a keeper. Let's come out and get two more tomorrow night!!!!!! GO SIOUX!!!!! Quote
brianvf Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Genoway won the game tonight because he simply shot the puck and didn't worry about how pretty it was going to be. He really didn't have a choice, he had a wide open net. Gregoire, Hextall, and Duncan were the ones doing the dirty work down low crashing the net, and then it popped out to him in the slot. Quote
dallassiouxfan Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 MULLET-TOR!!! MASTER of the UAA-verse! That was a dandy. Quote

They were the ones generating the chances. Quote
