phriq
this thread has gone down the toilet. goon said it best in his blog with the old saying "he that is without sin among you, let him cast a stone.....". John Chapter 8 Verse 7: "When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." lol but its true... who are we to judge.... none the less, I am confused. Has he been found guilty or has he not been charged? there seem to be stories to both sides...
Gopherguy33
I would wait a little bit before saying Dubers is on meth. If your only info is a link in the paper, you're miss-informed. Leave it alone and talk hockey.
tnt
Without knowing the whole story, it is hard to say what exactly happened. I would only suggest that Puffy himself seems to take joy in others downfall. If indeed it is as bad as it looks, I think this is totally different than the Tyler Hirsch problem because this is a choice he made. How bad of a choice obviously has yet to be determined. If he has never made fun of Robbie Bina, Oshie, Jake Brandt or others, I could cut him a bit more slack.

BringDeanBack
I would wait a little bit before saying Dubers is on meth. If your only info is a link in the paper, you're miss-informed. Leave it alone and talk hockey. Not necessarily on meth, but it sure looks like he got caught with it/the makings for it. You don't get booked into jail if you're pulled over coming home from Wal-Mart with just a package of Sudafed. Also, he has not been on the PA Dubay show for several days now. PA also made a reference to Dubay today saying (paraphrased) that due to the current situation, they can't make any comments right now. Which gets us back to the old, if you're innocent, what have you got to hide? If it was a bogus charge, come out ASAP to clear your name anyway possible, especially when you have a high profile job like he has. Not saying that he is a meth head, but it sure doesn't look good right now. I actually hope he makes it back to radio as he is a good ambassador for college hockey. NorthDakotaHockey
It was NOT meth and no charges will be filed. These are facts. Sargeant Bucky, straight from the Maplewood PD. Whatever the facts are, I hope that Dubay gets himself straightened up to the extent that he needs to, and that he not leave a wake of carnage with his wife, kids, and loved ones. And with himself. He, and they, all deserve better. Meth is an insidiously insipid snake. The only fact that is certain is this . . . . His career at KFAN is over. Same for the Twin Cities market. While he perhaps always had little credibility, he now has zero credibility in the local radio and media markets. Sad, perhaps, but true. Dubay is kaput, and the world of objective sports commentary is all the better for it.

happy
Anyone seen who he was with? Maybe Hagemo? last I heard, Hagemo is trying to get cleaned up. http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2008/oct/07...ective-blades-/
CDog
last I heard, Hagemo is trying to get cleaned up. http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2008/oct/07...ective-blades-/ Hagemo was cut by the Blades. He was offered a contract but was told playing time would be limited. He opted to try catch on with another ECHL team but hasn't yet. sioux7>5
I think that as much as people do not like what Dubay says about the Sioux. If these charges are true. I would hope that people would put rivalries aside and hope that the guy gets help. I think we shall wait until either charges have been filed or dropped. I for one wish him nothing but the best. I grew up with substance abuse problems all around me. Support is what people need. Not rival fans taking shots at them.

You rip on buckysieve for stating that it was not meth and that no charges would be filed, then you go on to state that the only fact that is for certain (isn't that what facts are?) is that Puffy's career at KFAN is over with. Are you the University of Minnesota's ambassador for their school of journalism? Maybe it could be a new career for you?

Are you the University of Minnesota's ambassador for their school of journalism? Maybe it could be a new career for you? Puffy is done. Why would KFAN ever want him back? He is a poor analyst, he has already embarrassed himself at least once with his run in with the officials, and he will be forever ridiculed, especially if he is exonerated, by the fan base. He is of zero value to KFAN. His contract likely has a "good boy" clause and he has clearly not been a good boy. Driving on a suspended license? I actually like the guy, because he is a bit of a putz, just like me. This said, anyone who thinks that KFAN will want him back is sadly mistaken. Not to worry, there will be plenty more homer boys in line to take his job and to dish you your Kool Aid.

I do appreciate what the Twins have been able to do with their cheap ass owner, maybe I'd call myself a fan, but definitely not a fanatic. I don't really follow NHL hockey, so I'm not really a fan of the Wild either. So I'm not really sure why you assumed that I was drinking the Kool Aid. I for one am relieved. For a moment there, I was worried that he had been caught with a hardcore drug. Puffy's career at KFAN is done after this, "You can put it on the boooooaaaaarrrrdddddd....." nodak hockey fanatic
what a great article i am glad they cleared it up. they just wanted to clear up all the rumors about the meth... it was just coke. coke is great, all the cool kids do it what a joke. horrible attempt to spin this??? and to the puffy apologists, he did this to himself. and i would be very surprised if he stays on at kfan.
