I could actually care less what NDSU fans think at this point. Lets just knock them off, their players would definitely hate us by next year and I'm thinking the rivalry is back on....and nobody could debate. I've had enough of who thinks its a rivalry and who doesn't at this point, I'd rather just talk about the game itself.

Speaking of conclusions, didn't three years or so ago you say that Wentz was......'meh' at QB, as in not that great? All of this coming from the guy who at times tries to act somewhat impartial and comes to the UND site because has no friends on BV. But this week he's all about "his boys' (meaning the NDSU team) and puffing his chest out and talking trash. Thanks again Johnboy for your 365 day interest in North Dakota football.

Perhaps, but the crowd and atmosphere will undoubtedly be a lot louder and crazier than for SDSU and UNI games I would guess,. And certainly 10 times more so than when you played USD. The players will be able to sense that I'm sure, and that is why it is highly unlikely NDSU will play flat against UND. I don't think you are 30 points better than us, I would take that bet if I was able to.

So you think this UND isn't as good as a USD team that sucked, alright then. I think we are better than that USD team, but it's highly unlikely you are going to play horribly against us. Even though you don't think it's a rivalry game I'm sure your coaches will have your team more focused than that week against USD.

Unfortunately I was driving from AZ to ND this weekend so didn't see the game. Saw the post it was being replayed on Midco but Kett was just taken out before i turned it on. I believe Kett was 19-25 with 1 TD, and from what I've heard there was at least one drop in the first half. Sounds pretty efficient. 2nd Quarter sounds like offense didn't do much, but coming out in the third quarter Kett drove them down the field but Zimm finished it off. Was the offense rolling more in 2nd half because they came out more inspired, or was it really that Zimm made some big plays? Maybe Zimm takes more shots down field therefore had more big plays, or did Danny just open it up a little bit? Thank god we have Zimm and finally a legit 2nd string QB. We might have a QB controversy if Zimm plays really well the next 2-3 weeks, which I hope he does!

I'm glad SU has a cake walk week 1, let their new QB and other first time starters hopefully get a little over confident.

They have one of the biggest and best OL, and our DL is smaller than we'd usually like it to be....and inexperienced. They might be able to run it down our throats. Lets hope our DL steps up.

I hope we are up comfortably in the second half against Drake and I'd like to see Griebel returning punts in the 2nd half to see how he does.

No doubt, with all of the options we have I thought we'd have somebody a little more explosive back there.

I saved this for my Friday night entertainment tonight So excited for this season I can hardly stand it. To I think it was Bison06 who was questioning why we are excited about having a first time OC and why we think it will be better and we are excited about it. Listen at the 58 minute mark where Kelly Howe talks about how the defense sent a safety on a blitz on our audible because they knew exactly what we were going to do, and they snuffed us for a two yard loss. Even our audibles were so predictable. That pretty much sums up the last few games of the year, well and a lot of Rudy's tenure as OC.

I was there too, it was horrible. With the odd scheduling I had been waiting about four years to drive up for that game. Happen to run into my next door neighbors from Dickinson growing up though at the tailgating that I hadn’t seen in over 30 years though so at least that was good

That NAU game definitely felt like the threshold of football hell. We hit rock bottom that day.

I think Schmidt would probably feel slighted if Danny got promoted to OC, and then Head Coach one year later....while Schmidt has been DC for six years. I think either Schmidt or Danny could make good head coaches someday. Let's hope we make a nice playoff run this year though and coaching is the least of our worries in the off season.

I agree, too much talk about explaining how tough seals are.....we all know that, and he isn't one yet and may never be one. I think the original comment was meant in a way that if somebody who is his age is seriously considering wanting to be a Navy Seal, he probably isn't the type of person who is weak mentally etc.. Does that mean he is or isn't....no. As for football, I don't think he was so broke last year he can't rebound. Hell we all felt miserable watching our offense the end of last year. You can't tell me many of the offensive players felt like they were trying to run up hill last year and just completely frustrated. This year in addition to better X's and O's and a lot of returning Jimmy and Joe's, I just think the overall mentality of the offense is going to be so much better this year and all players think they are going into battle with a fully loaded weapon. Last year it was like the offense was going into a gun fight with a knife and a sling shot.

I'm definitely glad Kett was voted a captain, if your returning starting QB who is a senior wasn't voted a captain that would probably say something.

I totally agree with that. If we don't win by 30 because we played it close to the vest to keep some stuff for the following week, I'm ok with that.....and would prefer that. Beat them with the basics and get the W. Figure out some things that need improving from week 1 to week 2. There is no reason the NDSU game can't be a competitive down to the wire type game, we are capable of winning. I don't think the USD team that beat them in Fargo a few years ago is any better than we should be this year. More times than not NDSU wins this years game if we played 10 times, but doesn't mean we can't beat them and the team shouldn't expect to beat them. I don't want a moral victory in Fargo this year....I want a win! If we don't win, not the end of the season.....but I still want to win that game not just compete.
