  1. But when we don't get a JUCO LB transfer in the off season last year.......people claim it's on Bubba for not getting a transfer to fill an immediate need. Which comes first....the chicken or the egg.
  2. That JMU - SDSU score was pretty shocking. SDSU looked good early, I wasn't convinced they could beat NDSU when it counted, turns out couldn' even come close to JMU. Funny how Sam Houston gets portrayed as soft, but SDSU just got their a$$ kicked but yet you don' see the same comments just because they are from the MVFC. NDSU has carried that conference and any team that plays them tough gets propped up, or if a team beats NDSU once in 5 tries they get put on pedalstil like SDSU. After SDSU loses their two offensive studs they will fall back into FCS slighty above medioracrity.
  3. Who the heck on here thinks we are ok with the level of talent on this years team? You are delusional thinking that we don't think we need better players. We had no senior ILB's that were able to play, or probably even juniors. The upper classes OL mostly got hurt and were average at best anyway. The juniors and seniors on the roster to me are gap guys, caught in middle of transition. There were obviously some really good ones, but not the overall quality needed. It looks like we will have some good ILB's going forward, some of the younger or newly recruited OL guys appear to have some good potential.
  4. I was thinking last night.....UND's OL coach should be taking notes while watching NDSU's line. If the young guys that had to end up playing this year don' take a nice step forward, the OL coach has to go.
  5. I dont like the negativity either but in this case ir was justified. Sam Houston would have demolished this year's UND team and easily scored 50 on us with our depleted secondary and no true ILB'S. They scored 40 on SDSU in the first half, probably would have on us too this year. Looking forward to next year' game, hopefully Harris will be healthy and ready to go.
  6. It does seem like SDSU's year this year they are loaded on offense. I'm just not sure I trust them to win the Big one if they get in verses NDSU. They'e never beaten them in the past when it counted.

    2018 Season

Yep we need to be perennial top 8-10 at a minimum. After the top 3 we need to be in that second top pack at least with potential to make a deep playoff run each year. Obvious goal is to get into that top pack and win it all. Need to pull an upset of Sam Houston next year. DB's get ready!
  8. Believe me....I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this season too!! Also, I don't think Bubba walks on water, this season was definitely a strike against him in my book. However I'm giving him more than one strike. And yes the lack of transfers IS on him, but maybe they tried to get some transfers at LB but weren't able to land some of the guys they wanted and instead of getting a warm body that may have been average at best just to get a warm body in there, they decided not to. Obviously given the injuries this past year that was the wrong gamble and almost any warm bodies with size would have helped at ILB. If they didn't try at all to get any transfers at ILB last year, definitely on him. Last year sucked....it sucked bad, and I have a feeling it probably humbled all of the coaches and I'm sure looking back they probably think about things they would of, or should have done differently. Hoping it only makes them work even harder this off season and next year so this never happens again. As for Studs, no I don't really fully count him as Bubba's recruit. Bubba's staff gets credit for getting him to keep his commitment, but I don't give them credit for finding and recruiting him. Thank goodness we had Studs though. With that said, hopefully the next 3 QB's that Bubba did bring in surpass Stud's performance.
  9. Yep Moody can shoot it! Are they red shirting him this year or has he played a little?
  10. It's been mentioned many times, he apparently just can' comprehend Bubba's first true recruiting class would have only been sophomores this year and that the lack of food depth in the upper classes isn' necessarily on him, other than perhaps not bringing in transfers. Which the transfer thing is kinda funny..... you get many people say that transfers and juco isn' the way to go and they often don' work out, but yet then are disappointed when we don't have more.
  11. I wanted the game to be real close to make a good showing for the Big Sky but wanted JMU to win, so that was perfect.
  12. Sounds like a good idea to me, take an athletic, tough possibly over looked WR receiver and teach him how to play corner. Nice size at 6'1. Was Harris more of a WR in High School? That other CB commit we got played a lot of WR and he committed to us to play CB. Hopefully two could DB recruits so far with those two!
  13. Yep you are right lol. I thought about saying QB's too because they do......but then I probably also would have said Montana .....because they seem to land a lot of good QB's as well because they throw it around, and I really just didn't want to say anything good about Montana.
  14. Looks like he could be a Santiago 2.0! I bet we could run him up the middle on first down against a stacked box....jk jk lol. I think we will have a good OL by then and be more ok with that play in a couple years. Hopefully next year we are more successful at running the ball and recruits can see that we are a good running team and they want to come to UND to pound the rock ........and we get lots of good RB commits in the future, just like EWU always gets top WR recruits.
  15. Never good to see anything like this at any school. But all schools no matter how good the coaches are and try to recruit good kids......some will not be......and some will make some big mistakes unfortunately. http://www.khq.com/story/19335519/ewu-football-player-arrested-on-rape-charges
  16. I think I read somewhere in the past week that Stitt's contract if he hit every incentive in the contract he would get 365k.
  17. We don't have many LB, S or CB commits yet.....coaches still have quite a bit of work cut out for them with this recruiting class!
  18. No doubt.....we already know how he feels the first 50 times he said it, it's like he feels if he says the same thing with different wording 10 times a week it will somehow help things. It's seriously getting old. Oh well, I guess as long as he limits it to this thread I guess that is fine. I think I am done reading this thread for a while, the dead horse has been beaten enough for a while IMO. I've moved on to next year. Although I guess some people somewhat fuel his fire because they make a comment on here, then he has to make another post to repeat what he has already said a billion times. Maybe he is one of those who constantly posts political crap on FB thinking he is actually going to change other peoples minds.
  19. Yes they have done pretty well. However I initially stated SEC, and then you said P5 conference. I believe App State is still in the Sun Belt conference, they have done very well....but when I look at the teams they play.....honestly had no clue who some of those teams were. Could a top FCS team do well in one of those conferences, yes I think so. SEC is a whole other story though, and the initial post I made referred to how NDSU would go 8-6 against the SEC.
  20. Did they move to the SEC and I didn't know about it? We were talking SEC.
  21. Kind of like how Appalachian State is tearing things up this year........losing to football powerhouses LA Monroe, UMass, and Wake Forest? But yeah....previous FCS Powerhouse App State would be above .500 in the SEC
  22. Don't worry......I had confidence in you!
