I don't think any more than the number of people who think any of the already in-use Roughriders logos floating around could be used.

the writing was pretty much on the wall after the first round. Hawks dominated, getting 50% more votes than any other choice. Hawks gained twice the support percentage-wise than either roughriders or nodaks did in this go-round. as ol' Hank would say, It's All Over But the Crying.

Good point on Idaho State. And the Weber game, too. If we do not make the playoffs, those are the two we have to look back on as the ones that got away. I just feel the ndsu game didn't benefit the team in terms of experience as much as it hurt our playoff chances.

I'm almost ashamed at how much Seinfeld still enters my mind for practically any situation. all the talk about the screw up of the runoff reminded me of jerry and Kramer talking about tax write-offs. We could substitute peter Johnson and Robert Kelly for Kramer and jerry and the word "write-off" with "runoff" in that scene and it would've played out almost perfectly.

I'm sure i'll get thumbs down for this. But, the obsession to play ndsu again may end up costing us more than the raw deal we got in the contract. Play another Drake this year, and we're sitting in pretty good shape with two weeks left. Then, win one playoff game, and we'd be playing ndsu anyway. That said, if we win out and 4 Big Sky teams make the playoffs, we're in.

The first exit poll was not even close to being a representation of the overall UND general public, so my guess is a lot of us just haven't bothered to complete this poll. And besides, until our votes sell on Craigslist, we really don't know what name our vote will be cast for.

If Roughriders is chosen, i'll keep my beverages cold in Roughrider Candoms. Those should be good sellers.

Do we really need a cheerleading thread? Holy crap batman. How about "Roughriders yeah yeah! Yeah Roughriders Roughriders!" man, that just rolls right off the tongue. I believe the point several others were making is, t-shirts and yelling "proper" terminology aren't the only way to support the university. IMO they rank near the bottom.

But put the hick/rube on a horse, and suddenly it's a roughrider, which is totally badass, right? Both nicknames are ancient in the eyes of the youth, which is a big factor in why Fighting Hawks dominated the first vote and will probably win.
