I did a simple Google search. Average $2,716 for all colleges, all sports. BUT college football players are much more “marketable?”. Average in Big10 $216,000 and SEC $565,000…football is BIG in the south. These figures do not reflect other benefits….like a highly recruited 4 star player driving a new $90,000 Dodge Ram pick up the afternoon he signed. I also saw the lowest paid person was $67. Not sure what year this is….social media is reporting $1M now, for what it is worth.

What have you been smoking? I would be very surprised if average NIL is 3K now. Not sure when the study was done. I still do not like the whole concept but it is here to stay.

Same thing happens in local political races. I beat out a REAL jerk 4 years ago….arrogant SOB as perceived by many… now he is financing a very awesome 30 year old to run against me. I called the young man up, wished him well, and I could foresee no problems. He agreed. And I meant it. But the jerk behind this… not so. I would assume it happens on sports teams too.

No, the articles in the Mpls. Star Tribune this morning. No link or other info. This may have been initial ruling because the article mentioned future rulings/appeals related to some labor laws. It seems some athletes are considering themselves employees based on their games make so much revenue for the schools. Some college athletes have or are organizing into labor unions.,what a mess.

Well NIL opened a huge door in college sports. Now the U.S. Court of Appeals in Philadelphia ruled on a “test” to determine if students are eligible for minimum wage. The court ruled they may be eligible if they perform services for their schools’ benefit in return for express or implied compensation or in-kind benefit. WOW

Oh! The Iowa fans are really, really friendly and sociable. But when the game starts they are passionate, rabid Iowa fans!!!

Need to check times of other games….a nice drive. there are more law enforcement there than any other football game I have been to. Very safe community. Great stadium. FOOD: absolutely Hickory Park hands down. BBQ and expanded menu plus it is an ice cream parlor too. All the ice cream on the placemats….

Miller has a lot of personal and professional integrity in my book. It seems to be a thing of the past in most media circles now. I recently attended a very high profile event in St. Paul. I read several newspaper accounts of the event. Was I even at the same event as those reporters? Just a sign of the times….
