You’re right…every other word is pay. I agree with you but I grudgingly support it. The horse is out of the barn with NIL. as far as players being “recruited” to follow coaches….what profession has social integrity anymore? It is a changed world.

And maybe that is the one who does all the blocking so the LB get the sacks.

Being a MN girl (ancestors here 1857, 1858 (2), and 1880), I have always cheered for UND hockey. Not sure why. When the North Stars went to Dallas (thanks Norm Green), I quit pro hockey and watched just college.I can be pretty rabid at hockey games..almost got a bench penalty once and then one time my 100# friend tackled me after Zi made an obscene gesture to an opponent’s father. God knew what he was doing getting our of hockey!

Might take more than 6 to 12 months. I still do not know if anyone (quality players and whoever we need) have entered the transfer portal and would like to follow him to UND.

Great to see all the discussion and ownership (and nit-picking?) over our recruits!!! Can’t wait for 2025!

Most of those NIL groups are 501c3 and do not need to release the financial awards (you do see players driving $90,000 Ram pick ups right after signing from the dealership major sponsor). So, there is a tremendous amount of pressure on the players AND coaches. Are coaches obligated to play the highest paid guy OR the one with the ability? Many times it is not the same and the player getting less money is more dedicated and works hard (blocks for the Star runner?). Also, all that cash in the hands of 18 to 23 year old young men. Really not too good. Many NIL groups have financial advisors. Does the NIL group dry up your alumni donations? Immediate or long term? I am not a real fan of NIL. As far as the transfer portal… staying and improving each year is worth something, right? Some are in their third college or fourth in 4 or 5 years. I never follow anyone to see if they actually play more…other than hearing the announcer say something on TV. Not sure how the NCAA will be handling all of this but for sure there should be no transfers until after the season is over… several teams are facing issues during the play offs. either way….GO UND!

That transfer portal is imploding some programs! One college had 25 enter after the HC got fired/left. The SEC seems to be the hardest hit. Many good players are following the coaches who have moved. I wonder if that will happen to us! Exciting.

You guys could do a contest….enough to fill the front and back. Too cute to let this die…. You know MN does a contest every year to name snow plows…actually the STATE does (MN DOT).

I really like this. Who does T-shirts up there? Green with black letters and maybe some white ( three colors cost more), printed on one side, back?…get XS to 5XL and charge more for anything larger than XL. price is depending on the cost of the shirt and printing. Could also gray shirts but NO white. And a NIL donation is awesome. We could copyright/trademark this. If we do not use IND or Hawks we could, you know. someone needs to get together for a beer and figure this out.

Now if you men grill or smoke meats…you need to check the “S?&t” series of seasonings and meat rubs. They are on Amazon. Anyway I gave my sons several for Christmas last year…. Well, does NIL apply to coaches? Public employee issues? At least put some trivia on the cans. What season had the most QB sacks? I mean even very conservative cities allow these ?growliets. Do I have that right? A % of the proceeds goes to ….. what?

Has anyone transferred in yet?

Oh I would think that has already been decided. Not public knowledge yet. Some positions can be negotiated with the HC…who he wants to bring with and at what salary. Yes, I would think the first two years will be “buildings years.” But I think the positive vibes will be enough to put more in the W column. Also, having Bubba, with his football knowledge and knowing first hand the needs of the program, in some admin/fundraising position will be a huge asset!!! Good times coming!

The Schmidt beer stuff is neat. The Cold Spring MN brewery did a 4 can set for the state baseball tournament. They do custom stuff… one can for each city that had a tournament site and one can in general with the tournament logo. So this was VERY popular. $25 for the 4 can set. I purchased one as a souvenir. It was a two weekend tournament. Anyway the beer had to be kept cold and some business had a refrigerated trailer the board rigged up a generator/plug in. Anyway, after the first Sunday somebody stole the whole trailer of beer like at 3 am Monday morning. It was found, empty, in my friend’s corn field! One can HC, OC, DC, and ST…could do the Sioux logo too….someone in GF should be able to put this together. Could you order a set somehow? Not sure if ND or GF laws!!

Sounds like we are truly moving into 2025 football….hope Eric brings that solid UND value system with him for coaches, players, and fans!!!
