Well that is Standard Operating Procedure…..form the sub committee at a meeting. Then at the next meeting you find out people were added or removed from the sub committee, right? No explanation given. So sad when our personal integrity is mixed in with civiv integrity….just breathe in, breathe out, move on!! Pray as needed!

You mean they won’t form a sub-committee too? Sounds like other public hires….

Isn’t there some requirement for full disclosure for a public position? I think in MN they may have to disclose only who gets interviewed but not sure.

His salary is projected to be $10M+. That does not count the buy out. He makes $4.2M now at Washington.

Rumors on social media of a noon press conference announcing Deboer is going to ’Bama…rumors. Deboer cancelled an 8 am press conference this morning…people joking he had diarrhea…..all rumors.

Maybe he is in negotiation for the position.

That short time to apply means they have already selected someone, in my opinion.

CNN “Welcome to the death of college football as we know it.” I don’t know how to cut and paste in my cell phone.

I just read an article that pretty much supports this. Their point? The news media controls college sports…not the commissioners or AD. ESPN can allow you to have a date and location of the game. This time will be determined? a week before. But if you are one of the key games, you fall into the ?5 day rule. You find out like Sunday or Monday when the game is based on who won or lost. The editorial (?CNN, not sure) went on to say college football as we know it, will die after Monday night’s game. Yes, NIL is important and who is starting it?

Money is always the issue…wars are fought about moral issues but there is always a money reason behind it. Revolutionary War: freedom but increased taxes to England Civil War: slavery but cotton tax increase behind it one QB said he was offered $3M for NIL but would not name the school….

Well for anyone who has the time and inclination, the editorial page in this morning’s Mpls. Star Tribune has two great editorials about the $$$ flowing around college football ( mostly football but other sports too). “When tradition, greed collide, injuries follow” and “Obscene pay for coaches is out of control.” Like I said, maybe we should go back to the Memorial Stadium.

So…I watched Bubba’s Midco video after signing day. Liked the upper Midwest footprint. I actually submitted 2 names of uncommitted prospects. I am friends with one mother on FB. She said UND contacted her son…I totally sang the praises of the football team and MORE IMPORTANTLY the education her son will receive.

In theater this is a Diamond in the rough….someone new in town who has never been in the local theater with minimal experience. A good coach can see the potential and make them productive players.

The dollars rolling around amaze me. The signing in day ( in ??Feb) closed the deal. Now, even after the early signing day, players are recommitting and going elsewhere. Why? More money? Following one of the 100 M coaches who are moving? The media makes money off this too… each paper and each click of the mouse/finger. I read somewhere that the LearField (that I love and listen to for free) made $330 M off college football alone. Not sure that is fact checked. Like I said, maybe we should go back to Memorial Stadium and sit outside. Remember what Japan’s General Yamamoto said after Pearl Harbor? “ I fear all we have done is to waken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”
