  1. Update on non-shootout standings. Boston would be in instead of Ottawa in the east. LA in instead of Winnipeg in the west and we would get LA vs Anaheim rivalry matchup. 1. Anaheim 43-26-13 99 2. St. Louis 42-27-13 97 3. Nashville 41-29-12 94 4. Vancouver 42-32-8 92 5. Minnesota 42-33-7 91 6. Chicago 39-31-12 90 7. Calgary 41-34-7 89 8. LA 38-34-10 86 9. Winnipeg 36-33-13 85 10. San Jose 36-36-10 82 11. Dallas 37-38-7 81 1. Rangers 49-24-9 107 2. Tampa Bay 47-27-8 102 3. Montreal 43-27-12 98 4. Islanders 40-29-13 93 5. Detroit 39-29-14 92 6. Washington 40-33-9 89 7. Pittsburgh 39-33-10 88 8. Boston 37-31-14 88 9. Ottawa 37-32-13 87
  2. Phantoms is a really cool nickname
  3. Just for fun, here is how the standings would look if the shootout didn't exist and overtime losses were counted for what they are, losses and 0 points. 1. Anaheim 42-25-13 97 2. Nashville 41-26-12 94 3. St. Louis 40-27-13 93 4. Chicago 39-29-12 90 5. Minnesota 41-32-7 89 6. Vancouver 40-32-8 88 7. Calgary 39-33-7 85 8. LA 37-32-10 84 9. Winnipeg 35-33-12 82 10. San Jose 35-35-10 80 11. Dallas 35-38-7 77 1. Rangers 48-23-9 105 2. Tampa Bay 46-27-7 99 3. Montreal 42-27-11 95 4. Islanders 39-29-12 90 5. Detroit 38-28-14 90 6. Washington 39-32-9 87 7. Boston 37-29-13 87 8. Pittsburgh 38-32-10 86 9. Ottawa 35-32-13 83
  4. If Buchholz can return to form from nearly 5 years ago they have a shot. One thing is for sure though, they will be a fun team to watch with a lot of 8-7 games.
  5. According to the DU forum on USCHO, Laleggia has signed with Edmonton.
  6. NCHC refs. Anyone surprised there was a review on an obvious goal that took forever?
  7. BC makes it in like 99.5% of the time out of the possible outcomes. Cheer for Harvard all your heart desires and let's see those dirty stinking rodents on the golf course.
  8. I agree with you completely on this. His previous article that was linked here seemed pretty trollish but this one was just saying UND is a slight favorite and he is extremely excited to watch Miami vs Denver. If I was an unbiased viewer I would probably be more excited to watch the Denver vs Miami game as well.
  9. I am pleasantly surprised that Zane is in top ten for Hobey and the only goalie. I guess whoever votes for these awards pay more attention than I gave them credit for.
  10. Michigan Tech goalie has more wins and a better GAA and save%. Again I think Zane is the best goalie but I have a gut feeling that it will go to someone else. ETA: not more, the same number of wins
  11. The better question is where would minnesota be this year in the old WCHA. 8th? UND, Tech, Mankato, Duluth, Denver and maybe Omaha and SCSU ahead of them. Bemidji, UAA, and Wisconsin the bottom three.
  12. I definitely think Zane is the best goalie this year but I have a feeling that he won't win the Richter. The voting for that is going to be based almost entirely on stats and there are a couple of goalies that have better stats. Anyone that has gotten to watch Zane as much as we have, know how great he is. Others that haven't seen him will see 9th in the country in GAA and only 1 shutout.
  13. The Harvard kid, I can't think of his name off the top of my head, has a pretty nice looking stat line for the fewer games they play. Similar points per game numbers to Eichel. ETA: it's jimmy vessy. Leads the nation in goals and has 1.55 PPG vs eichel's 1.8
  14. Minnesota would have clinched the big ten with Sparty's win if the Big 6 didn't have shootouts. Closest thing to a positive thing I'll ever say about the skills competition.
  15. So if the nickname can make people get better grades, let's call ourselves the Crimson and say we are as good as Harvard
  16. According to the CHN thing, switching the tie on the 31st to a Wisconsin win only drops Minnesota to 15th.
  17. I thought it looked like the ice was bad on Saturday and a lot of players were just falling over. Nick started to fall forward and czarnik caught him in the head with his knee or thigh. It was still nice to see Ausmus and Jordan beat Czarnik up a little the next shift.
  18. And this year Alaska Fairbanks isn't eligible for postseason play. So them and Anchorage, who is already locked into last, won't be playing in the WCHA playoffs.
  19. Schlossman mentioned in his weekly chat that they didn't even rule Genoway out for the season when he got hurt. If they aren't going to say he's out for the season then they're never going to say someone is out for the season.
  20. I think Illinois just removed all references to Indians and now use Illini as a reference to a resident of Illinois.
  21. Or maybe they're stupid 18 or 19 year olds that really didn't have a reason for what they were doing beyond getting attention. Holding a fire Kelley sign has obviously done that.
  22. Oh my bad. I guess I confirmed a couple things about myself, I'm not terrible at math but I am at listening?
