I was in a state of mind where I was ready to overreact to something last night. It wasn't that bad of an insult, but it still doesn't make sense to be calling him out since he seems to be one of the most reasonable fire Hakstol posters. Now gfhockey on the other hand sort of has all the jokes made at his expense coming. I guess that might have been what put me off last night. Lumping FS4L in with him may be as insulting as being called a "douche"

Johnson is going to be one of the four year greats. Awesome player that is only going to get better.

I don't understand calling out fightingsioux4life. He at least brings his detractions to Hakstol with reasons. Hakstol has his faults and fs4life brings rational thought to his complaints. Hakstol's ability to recruit and develop talent are enough for me to overcome his in game coaching, which I think is his biggest weakness. We don't bring in players like Grimaldi or have a shot at a player like Seth Jones unless our coach is a good recruiter. However Hakstol is not infallible like some people seem to try to make him. He is a good coach and we probably couldn't find a better one that wants to come to Grand Forks, but people should be able to complain about him on an Internet forum without being insulted.

And I'm not a fire Hakstol guy. My older brother and uncle (whom are the people I watch and talk Sioux hockey with) were probably two of the first fire Hakstol people and are strict followers of the Church of Blais. They've had the same complaints for years and one weekend sweep of a last place team isn't going to change those opinions. Not everyone in the fire Hakstol boat are mindless whining machines, like a lot of the posters here try to paint them. They have well thought out complaints and happen to be people with a quicker trigger finger when it comes to wanting someone fired. There's plenty examples in the past of teams firing a coach too early and there are plenty of times where the coach was held onto too long.

All the same complaints about Hakstol still exist. His seeming inability to make in game adjustments, strict adherence to his style of hockey despite the personnel, power play that is always bad (even when we had the horses like the pony express line), and inability to win the big one at the end of the season are still problems in some eyes. One weekend doesn't change any of that, just like if we would have somehow lost both games this weekend none of your pro-Hakstol opinions would change. Even pessimistic fans don't like to complain after a sweep, but that doesn't mean the complaints magically no longer exist.

Are shootouts in the NCHC like the NHL or international? It would be cool to see Rocco channel his inner TJ Oshie in a shootout.

According to wikipedia he is only 42 and this is his 15th season as the head coach at Miami! And without a great conference tournament this will be the first time Miami misses the national tournament since 2004-2005 season.

5 wins puts us very much on the bubble. Looks like most likely 14th or 15th. 15th would be the last spot in the tournament because the Atlantic Hockey champion is going to take the 16th spot. We would need there to be absolutely no upset champions in the conference tournaments in that case. So I say lets take 6 or better still 7 or 8

Some people, like myself, are naturally very pessimistic fans. Doesn't mean we aren't true fans and are going to leave for greener pastures. I'm going to spend all week b****ing and moaning about this team and then show up Friday and Saturday for the games and cheer because I love Sioux hockey.

The only possible outliers are Northwestern at 12 and Nebraska at 101. Maybe Michigan at 29 and Indiana at 83. The rest of the Big 14 schools are pretty much equal.

I'm completely outside the loop when in comes to volleyball. Is it like basketball with conference tournaments to find automatic bids to the national tournament? How many teams make the national tournament?
