  1. I read his comment as saying that every coach since he has been a fan so not including Rube Bjorkman every coach stepped in and did well.
  2. With how quickly the athletic department is moving according to Schlossman, I'm guessing Buccigross had bad info with his tweet.
  3. And 9 of those games were 2-1 games with the Rangers winning 7 of them.
  4. I'm in your stage 6 after seeing the A-H names that got support from the committee. I didn't think anything could make me support a rodent nickname until I saw that list.
  5. Let's say he threw a first half interception, oh wait he did. My reasoning is that the Colts haven't even come close to the Patriots since Peyton Manning was their quarterback. Properly inflated balls wouldn't have changed the fact that the Patriots running game wasn't ever going to be slowed down by the Colts. It doesn't change the fact that the Colts were unable to do anything offensively. The Colts weren't going to be running the ball much no matter what the score was because their running game sucked. The Pats have repeatedly dominated Indy and that wasn't going to change. And as you said earlier, it can't be proven that the under inflated balls would have made a difference either direction in the game. Although it is a small sample size, the Patriots were able to run all over Indy multiple times and that is why they won the game. I guess I will stick with what I've seen the Patriots do to Indy multiple times and you can stick with thinking the title was tainted over hypotheticals.
  6. I think he should get a game or two. He broke the rules. But wiping the super bowl out of the record books (like that would do anything) or many more games than a couple just seems like overkill. Rules are rules and he broke one stupidly. It was a high risk no reward thing to do.
  7. I admit that I'm biased in this, but I don't see how anyone can make the argument that the deflated balls had an impact on the outcome of that game. According to everything I have seen, the balls were inflated back up to acceptable levels for the second half of the AFC CG and then the Patriots went on to outscore the Colts 28-0 in the second half. And at the end of the day we are discussing a game that was 45-7. If this was a one or two or even three score game, then I could maybe entertain the fact that the footballs may have made a difference. The Pats beat the crap out of a team that they were much better than and then went on to beat a really good team in a much better game with properly inflated balls.
  8. That is the most fabulous horse I have ever seen. It can put Fabio to shame.
  9. That list of names is so bad that the fricken rodent is the best choice.
  10. Yeah, people have stuck with the NFL through Aaron Hernandez, Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, the former Panthers DE, etc. I don't see anyone boycotting it over deflated footballs.
  11. If I was guaranteed that UND would win next year's national championship I wouldn't care if our name was the Fighting Nazis. National championship >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sioux nickname
  12. Nothing to do with your post but every time I see your avatar, I think to myself ubermensch would be a cool nickname.
  13. Go Blackhawks tonight with every single point scored by Toews and Keith. Knock my goalie out!
  14. I'm pretty sure the coaching staff new Dell was leaving even though it was late. We had already gotten Saunders to commit before Dell signed. I'm sure the coaches know what everyone is doing already and only the fans will be surprised if someone leaves.
  15. My team is screwed if the Wild beat the Blues. I have three Blues skaters and Dubnyk.
  16. AP's contract is a big factor. In today's NFL, no running back is worth what he is getting paid. Much smarter to pay much less for an average back or draft level contract for a rookie and use the leftover money for a bigger impact position like a shutdown corner or great pass rusher or great o-linemen.
  17. Orange ones are terrible. I kind of like the brown with orange pants though.
  18. A little late but if you're willing to take me... Forwards Tarasenko St. L Getzlaf Anaheim Nash NYR Ovechkin Wash Oshie St. L Toews Chi Keith Chi McDonough NYR Shattenkirk St. L Carlson Wash Dubnyk Minn
  19. And St. Louis getting Calgary instead of Minnesota. They might be the two best teams in the west and play in the first round and the two worst teams in Vancouver and Calgary get to play each other in the first round.
  20. I have family from the area and know that Bowman never really treated the Scranton kids too well. Big part of the reason they coop with Hettinger instead. I don't know what the Rhame, Gascoyne, or Reeder kids do but I think Bowman County can just about go back to calling themselves Bowman again. Hettinger gets kids from Mott, Regent, Richardton, and Taylor for wrestling as well.
  21. I feel like the Schmaltz brothers take a lot more crap than they deserve. Going back to DOT's freshman year, only those three, Gregoire, Kristo, and Grimaldi put up better point totals than Nick as freshmen. That is some solid company. Jordan is consistently in good position and very rarely gets beat one on one by any opponents. He isn't physical but was anyone ever really expecting him to be a physical force? He's been one of our better defensemen in a group that is just about as good as any UND has ever had.
  22. I've tried to stay away from the Sioux hockey forums for the last couple days because I know I am a poor loser and Thursday's game had me very frustrated. For the third straight time at the frozen four the Sioux can say they outplayed their opponent and still lost. McIntyre played one of his worst games of the year. I would say it was his worst since at least 2 goals can be called weak and I would say 3 out of four were weak. Even with the gift O'Connor gave us, we still couldn't overcome the hump. And then yesterday, a team we thoroughly outplayed during the regular season was able to get their first national title much like Duluth was able to in 2011. I don't know what needs to happen to help us get over the hump. Sometimes firing the coach is the right decision like it was for the Red Sox in 2003. Sometimes it isn't. I think Hakstol has improved immensely as a coach and he is definitely no Grady Little. I didn't follow Sioux hockey too closely until I came to UND in 2011, but I think it is pretty safe to say that Hakstol's early trips to the frozen four led to us being outplayed and losing. That hasn't been the case the last 3 trips. Our team has been ready to go. Hakstol is figuring something out. Our defensive corps no longer includes any pylons and that was a big part of our problem. We can skate with anyone. As long as we keep putting ourselves in position to win it all, we should eventually get it. It will lead to more heartbreak than other programs have to deal with but hopefully some day it will all be worth it.
