  1. I have to agree with what everyone else is saying. The forward lines look exactly how I think they should be in my opinion (not that it means much because I know a lot less about hockey than Hak). I thought the freshman have looked good together and Chyzyk has been playing well enough offensively to be a top 6 guy on this team.
  2. Trying to get out of my forever pessimist view now, overall the team completely dominated LSSU all around the entire game. It seemed extremely easy for our guys to just take speed around the defensemen while entering the zone. Loose pucks were almost always ending up on the sticks of one of our players. We had quite extensive amount of time in the offensive zone. Overall our skaters looked thoroughly dominant against a team they should look dominant against.
  3. I watched the entire game. Thought Cam was awful. First goal like you said was a tip so not a bad one on him. Second one he was way out of position and slow trying to get back across the net. Third one was just bad. Beyond that Cam seemed to be giving up soft rebounds and everything that went towards him felt like it would go in the net. I agree that he needs playing time but after last night's performance, I'm just not sure when we could. It would be ideal for Johnson if we don't let his poor performance stir in his head and get him right back out tonight. But like many have said we can not afford a loss to lake state. The Columbia bridge would be awful crowded.
  4. I would absolutely start him against the usndt. But we lose tonight if cam doesn't get yanked. I have no confidence in him being able to beat lake tomorrow and outside of Providence our NC schedule is bad and any loss would be bad for us. I think I would rather see cam play a conference game because a loss to niagara or LSSU is worse for us than a loss to western Michigan. And at this point losing Zane at any point in the season would be a death sentence for the season no matter how much cam plays.
  5. So I know Johnson needs to get experience, especially because we can't be sure Zane comes back next year. But can we really trust him at all this year after tonight's performance. He looked bad, gave up rebounds on soft shots and looked slow. Zane is one of the best goalies in the country this year. My personal opinion is we ride him every game this season and hope for the best record we can get this year and hope he comes back next year. Cam looked bad against a TERRIBLE team. The rest of the team looked really good the entire game. I just don't know if we should give cam another chance this year because we can't afford to lose any out of conference games with our schedule and we have the team to win the conference this year so I don't see a game where we can play him again this year except for mop up role in a blow out game.
  6. Hockey is the only sport that really does that though. Google college football injury report and you at least can see if it is a foot injury or hip injury. All the same concerns about targeting and strategic advantage are present in football. They do the same thing in the pros. Google NHL injury report and then google NFL injury report. Hockey injury could be a stubbed toe or a broken femur and they would both be reported as a lower body injury with the player being out indefinitely. Indefinitely could be 2 days or 2 months or 2 years or whatever.
  7. I didn't mean in just the state of Arkansas. I meant with Arkansas you have a team that will never be consistently good. They are at best 4th fiddle in their division of their conference. Since 2002 (the furthest back ESPN goes with standings) Arkansas has finished in the top 3 of the SEC west 4 times, finishing first once. Their only conference championship appearance, they lost to Florida. There is no reason to believe that Auburn, LSU, and Alabama won't continue to consistently be better than Arkansas. The outlooks for the future are just as good if not better at A&M, Miss. St., and Ole Miss. Arkansas may have been a desirable job 25 years ago but not anymore.
  8. Providence with another win tonight 5-1 against Northeastern. How we played against them is going to be huge for us as they look like they are going to be the only out of conference opponent we have this year that is going to have a good record, unless Bemidji starts winning games instead of just playing everyone to close losses.
  9. One of the most annoying things I find about hockey and hockey culture. You never find out what an injury is and you can't be sure how much a player's play is affected. I just hate not knowing.
  10. According to Schlossman on twitter, Hakstol is optimistic that O'Donnell plays but doesn't think Chyzyk will. Both were skating in practice today though.
  11. I'm sure he already regrets signing to coach Arkansas. Never really made sense to me in the first place to leave a good program like Wisconsin for a program that was never, ever, ever, ever going to be a consistently good team in Arkansas. Jumping ship for Nebraska is a good idea for him in my opinion.
  12. RBI's are a meaningless team stat. Nobody for the Twins would put up good RBI totals. .303 is a good batting average and he also has put up great OBP numbers (Billy Beane's favorite stat and if it works for him it works for me) and you are ignoring positional value. Mauer had been one of the 2 or 3 best catchers in baseball his entire career. He played good defense and any unbiased opinion thinks he has been worth the value so far. The only people I have ever seen criticize the Mauer contract are either Twins fans or don't know much about baseball. Now that he has moved away from catcher due to concussion issues, he has lost a lot of value. That really couldn't have been expected though. Everyone knew he would eventually have to change position but it couldn't have been predicted to be this early.
  13. Siouxforeverbaby, I'm not sure if it's a typo or my phone is tricking me, but my name is listed with no pick next to it. I picked drake.
  14. Jordan Schmaltz looked pretty pathetic tonight, especially on Omaha's first game. I don't know of anyone else that really stuck out as playing bad. Omaha will fall apart at some point this season when Massa remembers that he is a bad goalie. The rest of their team seems solid but not as good as last year.
  15. I don't think there really is much demand for Ray Rice. He was terrible last year and football wise the Ravens are better off with Forsett than getting the 3.0 yards per carry they were getting last year from Rice. Why would anyone want someone that was terrible last year, hasn't played all year this year, and is a PR nightmare? He definitely isn't worth more than the veteran's minimum.
  16. I guess a nice thing about being a Sox fan is I know the team really doesn't need to worry too much about money. I'm a little excited about Sandoval because third base has been weak the last two years. I'm not sure where Hanley fits in. I guess it has to be a corner outfield spot. This makes a logjam in the outfield and opens up a probable cespedes trade for pitching.
  17. Can I change my pick? Wasn't watching the game too closely last night and didn't realize that Chyzyk got banged up. If I can switch, I would like to take Mark Mac
  18. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/11815803/nhl-st-louis-blues-tj-oshie-strong-family-fight Good read about Oshie and his dad and their experience so far with Alzheimer's.
  19. Go to btn2go.com and sign in to your account. Then go to your profile and you should have a link for live help. Click on that link and tell them you want to terminate your subscription. They asked for my email and then told me I was removed from the automatic renewal. I just did this 5 minutes ago so it should hopefully work.
