  1. You are an absolute moron. Liberty has to pay for five home FBS schools big bucks. Coastal Carolina has to pay measly bucks for an one FCS home game.
  2. Answered this a thousand times. Liberty has money to go up to FBS by itself (a bunch of paid games). In a conference, 8 games are mandated so the financial strain is limited. But your bison brain can’t comprehend financials.
  3. So I’m as clued in and crazy as Jeff Choate apparently?
  4. How does Montana St coach Jeff Choate know that Incarnate Word wants to be FBS, which he says in this article? Maybe he was reading Siouxsports.com, when I pointed out an article in a San Antonio paper where IWU needs to trim down sports for FBS as they have too many . How could Incarnate Word, McNeese St, Sam Houston St, and Lamar ever get the resources to go FBS, unless in a WAC with NMSU, UTRGV, Cal Poly, UCDavis, and Sac St? https://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/sports/bobcats/football/five-things-to-know-about-incarnate-word/article_eaa4e029-96a4-5ecd-9333-d09b626a33cd.html Perhaps Montana State has been surveying the potential FBS moveup field to position themselves?
  5. If St Thomas wants to go DI, they will first have transition to DII over a couple years, required to stay in DII seven years before they are allowed to move up to DI and then have a five year transition to DI if they get an invite. Talking maybe fifteen years total to fully DI. Getting a DI hockey team takes at least a couple years to complete the DII transition and maybe the extra seven to compete in DI. Caruso would be an old man if St Thomas ever was fully DI. Their 37,000 Target field fans would disappear as most them were St John’s fans. Used to be schools could jump from DIII to DI and some did, but the NCAA stopped that, presumably to help DII. Only DII schools can move up to DI now. Formerly, NAIA, expanded JCs, and DIII schools moved straight to DI.
  6. Know this is off topic, but Halifax may get a CFL team, as a group is starting a season ticket campaign and wants to build a 24k stadium. Nova Scotia has slitghtly less than a million people. New Brunswick and PEI have 750k and 150k respectively. Moncton, NB could be a temporary home until the Halifax stadium is built. https://www.thestar.com/halifax/2018/11/07/season-ticket-drive-launched-for-potential-cfl-franchise-in-halifax-team-could-hit-field-by-2020.html
  7. I take it as a high compliment. The Lord has made a way when others thought I should be left for dead. Once took leaves and grass and made it into a heaping pile of compost. The next year it grew into the largest grape type tomato plant have ever seen. Cow poop is immensely valuable too in large quantities.
  8. Bless them all dear Lord as they move to the next chapter of life.
  9. Burgum is proposing the NDUS system to be broken in three: UND, NDSU, and the regional and community college systems each with their own board. UND and NDSU could each plan and strategize as they more or less please without giving in to the other. A major change in the political higher ed system. Would have to be voted on to be changed, but UND now needs top notch administrators and leaders. https://www.inforum.com/opinion/columns/920341-Burgum-Bold-change-needed-for-higher-education-governance
  10. https://goo.gl/images/HKK6pL To think UND almost had beaten the two seed.
  11. Strange all the elevations of club hockey in the west. Bakersfield starting a club team. Rabobank Arena already hosts a minor league team. https://www.bakersfield.com/sports/new-csub-club-ice-hockey-team-a-natural-progression/article_48763958-8635-11e8-9201-23338f3fbde7.html Grand Canyon is going ACHA DI. http://achahockey.org/view/achahockey/acha-hockey-news/news_511554 Fresno is stepping up its club program as is UNLV.
  12. Moving Bubba to a Foundation position could be a cheap way to go. Bubba loves UND so that might be a good fit and his staff needs to be completely redone. This isn’t a P5 staff where it would cost millions. A new coach almost has to be in place prior to signing day.
  13. The OL play was abysmal both for the run and pass protection. Kett couldn't get set up all day as he was always being chased. Don’t think Zimmerman or Bolt would have performed well.
  14. USD actually beat Denver in Denver in five sets to gain the Summit League autobid.
  15. Feels so weird thinking that this team might be the highlight of the UND sports year.
  16. That decision to punt on 4th down an 1 was a last straw. Did Bubba really believe the defense was so fail safe that NAU wouldn’t make a 1st down? Then the defense gave up a long march for a TD. Chaves better spring into action. Something must be done to rectify this sorry coaching staff. Think even the players are thinking WTF.
  17. An article on the P5 divorcing the G5, and the G5 coming up with a new playoff system with FCS reinforcements. https://www.businessinsider.com/group-of-five-schools-championship-march-madness-2018-11
  18. Fair enough. WIH had to be cut for an eventual FBS gambit, and other cheaper women’s sports and scholarships would make up the Title IX balance.
  19. Here is a columnist advocating for McNeese St to move up to FBS. Louisiana schools are hurting for dollars, but the Lake Charles area is actually doing well- with a lot of increases in chemical production and building new facilities. McNeese has less than 8000 students and only has an average of 9000 per game, but the may be a better FBS candidate the La-Monroe, which sits in the Delta and doesn’t have too much industry around it. Opinion piece: (the writer may have actually talked to the AD and he didn’t reject it off hand or even suggested the story to check the public pulse) https://www.americanpress.com/opinion/david-berry/moving-up-worth-thinking-about/article_b470a054-e8f9-11e8-8cfd-63cbbb4fdbe9.html Lake Charles Economy: https://www.kplctv.com/2018/09/26/economic-outlook-lake-charles-continues-be-one-fastest-growing-areas-nation/ A trifecta of Lamar, Sam Houston St and McNeese St could be a three Southland schools the WAC would need to go FBS again. Lamar and Sam Houston St have approached to the SunBelt before for FBS and have been rejected.
  20. Just like Kennedy cut swimming to reduce costs. Or maybe he wanted to tear down Hyslop including the pool for a new STEM building? But that entails a strategic plan which you say doesn’t exist. Schafer’s and Kennedy’s cuts were probably more strategic that you ever will admit.
  21. Am suspecting that Denny will leave them a boat full. Could be wrong, but Denny has already given small fortunes to USD and SDSU to build facilties. An Augie med school has already been hinted at by him.
  22. SIU-E is the clear winner of the Illinois regionals. EIU, WIU and SIU are all losing enrollment institutions that don’t have degree programs that are in demand with good pay for a regional expensive system like Illinois has. Even NIU needs to change. The U of Illinois system and Illinois St are the only ones that make economics sense to enroll at other than SIU-E. Illinois student are going outstate by the bucket loads as they and their parents have finally realized that. Better to go to Iowa State or even Missouri St and an Illinois directional.
  23. EWU just doesn’t have the budget or endowment to compete in the new Summit. Hence, Chaves left for greener pastures. An FBS league doesn’t have to happen, but if it does EWU can’t build an expanded stadium. Never been in favor of Augie, but money has a way of talking. UND could be in a position to gain $s and weaken the SD schools.
  24. Like when Schafer canned baseball? Thought that relayed that UND had no interest in propping up the Summit as it was. As it turns out, UND went all in on a football sponsoring Summit.
  25. Based on what exactly? Your mind reading capabilities? Certainly PUFW and WIU and even ORU’s conference futures are up in the air. but no President would risk losing an autobid if there wasn’t a long term plan. An autobid is just the basics for maintaining DI status. Kennedy had and has a plan, and even the Presidents before him. It’s not just to cut cost either.
