With home court not in play, doesn't make much difference for the playoffs, but UND doesn't have the four weakest teams in the Big Sky on its conference docket more than once: NAU, SUU, PSU, Sac St. Sac St could change a lot if they get their star guard back. Really beginning to get up on this team. Just think what Walthall could do with this team. Maybe Jones can stay as recruiting coordinator? He's really seems to have hit his stride in that department.

The SUU - NAU road trip is hazardous because it's the highest elevations schools in the Sky. Fortunately, UND is a deep team, but the effects of elevation manifest most after a few days.

Would think Weber would travel well to Reno as its a straight shot on I-80, so it might not be exactly neutral court.

We need to be sensitive here to bizon posters! Most NDSU grads haul around so much lard on their frame that a coach class seat on an international flight would be cruel and inhumane. NDSU's President needs to be recognized for his emperor-like qualities. Yet he denied them as he could have taken his private jet but he didnt. Think of the dollars he saved by going Business Class!

Agree the former terminal was a slum. The new terminal looks much more modern by the photos.

It's ancient history now, but Idaho was oncertainly a top ten team and made the Sweet Sixteen in the early 80's.

Think men's swimming is the one most at risk. In a new Big Sky, there will be a need for women's swimming and Title IX scholarships. UND baseball can play a lot of early games in the new Vikings stadium starting next year. If the population of ND gets to 1.4 mill in 25 years, that essentially doubles the students that the school will serve. We need leadership to plan for that.

It's really not that difficult. Whatever Big Sky schools that have FBS aspirations and can pay for them. Idaho wants to remain FBS and No Col, Idaho St, Weber St, S Utah, and N Ariz can barely fund FCS. What's left is what will be FBS, plus the rest of the Dakotas as they will be forced to by UND's actions.

So you're speculating that MSU-Mankato is going to sue the NCAA for the right to move up? My point is that any serious DI talk has to come with a conference offer. The Horizon and MVFC would not even talk to Mankato. That leaves one conference. Logic must have been a topic you missed.

A school needs to have an offer from a DI conference to move up now. Completely different circumstances than NDSU and Chapman. A school can make all kinds of preparations for DI, but only a prospective offer can make it happen.

Think the President will impose new fees on students if they don't vote yes this time. An AAU school playing DII is a strange bird and is embarrassing for administrators.

The West Coast schools will have their own division: Poly, Davis, Sac St, Portland St, EWU, and Idaho So that will limit travel. Football drives the bus. Poly, Davis, Sac, UND, NDSU, SDSU will have their own autobid baseball league. California schools would only come this way for late series. It's actually somewhat advantageous, as the Big West has great teams like Fullerton and Irvine, as it's hard to win that conference.

Skarpohl's dream is to get a branch of UND's College of Mines out in Tioga. He recognizes the enormous opportunity that will play out in 20 years, and is waiting on the next oil cycle. Projections are that ND will have 1.4 mill by 2040, much of it in the west. Discrediting Bresciani and Kelley help him make his goal a reality.

My Big Sky FBS scenario includes UCDAVIS and Cal Poly moving full time to the Sky for FBS by 2018. If that happens, the Big West needs backfill. UCSD announced today that it will attempt to move to DI. Something is happening, because these conferences such as the Slummit and Big West should be stable with their numbers. The conference don't operate is a vacuum like we do - they know seismic tremors are already here.

So now Bresciani has been jet setting off to Paris and India first class for two weeks, but the chancellor and SBOHE didn't even know he was out of state. Apparently recruiting more Indians for his 18000 student goal.

VRBO usually has many selections in large cities, as some people can't rent out a home on a weekly basis and take home much more than a long term rental would. The mere fact that a conference has contacted Mankato indicates that one conference, presumably the Slummit, anticipates losing members(s) shortly. That's always useful.

Kato and Clown student run home to the burbs on weekends. Most don't even know their schools have a fb team for their entire lives. St John's and St Thomas could fund a move if they had a will to do it.

A couple grocery stores here, like Kroger and Food City, have monthly points where every $100 in purchases is good for 10 cents /gal off a fill. With gas just $1.52 here, it doesn't take much shopping to get gas under a $1 at least once a month.

Sioux Falls is not rich enough for DI, but Augustana could swing it w/o fb.

That was only me that was proclaiming the MVC was going FBS, sans the Dakotas. Wichita St has their eyes on FBS, and they are not getting into the AAC or MWC with a new FBS team. NDSU and the SD teams will have a chance to join a Big Sky FBS league. Otherwise they would have to settle for a Slummit football fcs conference. Mankato would be perfect then, as the could be your little gf on the side.
