  1. Cedar City's newspaper and Weber State message board.
  2. CUSA has research schools. The MVC doesnt. End of story. Wichita St wants the American with Tulsa, but they won't take a new football program.
  3. He's like almost seventy. Graduated HS in 64, unless he graduated as an infant. I am not qualified.
  4. In a recent statement, Wichita State's Prez stated that a more research oriented conference is preferable and that only Illinois St was a high research institution. He's basically saying Wichita State will be leaving the MVC. Think he got bags packed for CUSA. A number of Big Sky officials (Idaho's AD, SUU and Weber St Presidents) have said the Big Sky willike align based on research.
  5. His retiring does not change a thing. It shows that a plan is more than one person agreeing.
  6. I understand your point, but hockey can grow into bigger exposure if cawlidge hawkey grows to the west coast and south and fills in key locales in other places. Wouldn't be surprised if college hockey sees a rapid growth spurt in the next 5-10 years. Any growth puts more national focus on UND.
  7. Highly doubt Jones instituted the new defense or the weave on offense. What they were doing wasn't working, and someone proposed instituting these new systems. My bet is Heatherly is resposible, as he's the new blood in the coaches.
  8. Thank goodness. Education Doctorates not allowed without other meaningful experience.
  9. The coaching staff seems to have taken totally different tactics around the beginning if the conference season. Jones seems much more mature too, and the team has progressed remarkably. The only new coach on the staff is Heatherly. I wonder if he doesn't have a calming presence on the staff and team? Something has changed because the staff and team seemed much more schizo before. There is a quiet determination and a peace now that wasn't there before.
  10. The best thing that could happen is if we go dancing and some MAC team hires Jones. Win-win for us.
  11. Shanks will be on this list before he's done.
  12. Got chastised when I brought up there was internal issues on the team. Hopefully, Brew patched things up and the gals have healed their disagreements.
  13. The Fighting Hawks name is so lame: middle schoolish. Any UND fans should be greatly disappointed. It shound not have even got out of committee.
  14. Since the pummeling by UNI, UNI has like fallen off a cliff. What has happened to Jacobson's team?
  15. Hats off to the ladies! A six game win streak to get in the thick of the Big Sky race.
  16. Idaho without Sanders and Callendret is a different team. Montana seems not much improved lately. Sacramento St be the dask horse for the tournament if they get healthy. It may come down to UND and Weber again for the title.
  17. On USCHO, WCHA commissioner Robertson said he'said hoping they expand by two western teams and go to two divisions. Mentioned Ariz St, but won't mention the other. Guess that rules out the AHA teams joining the WCHA.
  18. So where is the extra 14 k from the NDSU Foundation?
  19. UCONN wants to renovate their on campus practice rink for games again, but it only sits 2000. Originally when they joined Hockey East, they were supposed to build a new arena on campus. They have been playing in the XL Center in downtown Hartford where the Whalers used to play, but it's scheduled for a renovation.
  20. Translation: there's no money to be made in women's hockey, so the B1G won't touch it.
  21. Notre Dame detests the B1G. They will anything to not join in anything. The only B1G schools that Notre Dame is particularly friendly toward are Michigan St and Purdue, as those two aren't bluebloods like Michigan and Northwestern.
  22. There's Fort Berthold Community College in New Town that has 200 some students, so the rumor you heard might be plausible. Williston St is also not far.
  23. Idaho has scheduled nearly $9.3 miĺ in scheduled P5 payout games through 2022. If they go FCS, most of it goes away and they will have to cut women's sports.
  24. If true about UConn, then UCONN women will eventually be offered a spot too, further weakening the women's WCHA. Lindenwood would probably be offered. NDSU could be offered too, as it would help solve their Title IX problems.
  25. CUSA says it's open to expansion conceptually. Wichita St needs Texas for recruiting athletes and students and craves a better academic grouping. Some CUSA schools wanted the conference to split, as it's too unwieldy. The power ball the MVC won in Wichita State'should Final Four will be running out in a couple years, so MVC payouts will go way down. CUSA will take a bit for their new TV contract, so they have to cut down on travel. CUSA adds Wichita State and NMSU. In seven years that conference can split in two. CUSA East FIU - FAU Charlotte- Old Dominion Marshall - MTSU WSU - UAB West S Miss - La Tech Rice - UTSA North Texas - Wichita St UTEP - NMSU Everyone has good travel partners to save cost The Valley back fills with Murray St, Belmont, and Oral Roberts, getting prime basketball markets. NDSU can't buy an invite to the MVC because it's not basketball focused, and contrary to what bizon fans think, Fargo isn't the center of the world.
