  1. It's all settled according to GrandForksGopher: Ariz St and UCONN will ever getting Big Ten hockey only bids. Sioux fans can callook off the posse for something they got all riled up about that's never gonna happen.
  2. There are disposable according to the powers that be in the Valley. That is why they will come begging with hat in hand to the Sky and beg forgiveness for screwing over UND in the past.
  3. WSU has new marching band uniforms too. Guess they won't be used at baseball games. The Koch Brothers have bankrolled alot of WSU's academic upgrades too. See an MVC FBS league like this forming: Wichita St MO St N Iowa I'll St S Ill Ind St NMSU Lamar Sam Houston St
  4. The Slummit would prefer Mankato!
  5. The media hasn't even brought up how NDSU VPs and Deans weren't allowed in the same class as Bresciani. Bresciani had the right to authorize them, but only did it for himself.
  6. Don't have details. This was a convenient time to sign a big FBS contract before signing day. Buyouts are usually significant if teams can't meet the terms. Idaho has signed multiple FBS at high payouts until 2022. Buyouts for Idaho could almost necessitate that they stay FBS. The Idaho President has been spouting off that they could go FCS to fake out the Sun Belt and get more money out of booster.
  7. And the Big House was filled for a Mich St hockey game. Michigan doesn't need a big new arena, when they can afford to pay Harbaugh. They prefer the Yost's quaintness.
  8. Not for $1.4 mil. LSU can get an instate FCS school for a quarter the price.
  9. Strange that Idaho just scheduled a $1.4 mill guarantee game with LSU in 2020. That is well after Idaho will be pushed out of the Belt and into FCS, according to other posters. Why would LSU waste their time scheduling games that won't happen? Mont St President Waded is getting rid of AD Fields at the end of June. She supposedly wants more football improvements in the near term out of a new AD.
  10. Tell that to a President of UND. He'll be making any decisions like the PAC12 or Big Ten, not me. Shitcanned Mich Tech without a second date thought. UMINN Shitcanned us. We are powerless.
  11. When the Big Ten expands (not if), the Gophers will have far fewer games OOC, and many of them will be the D1 cup.
  12. Apparently, we seem to have deluded ourselves into thinking that WMU and Miami fans are totally happy in the NCHC. They want more regional rivals and don't yet know who St Cloud St or Mn-Duluth are yet. They despise the idea of adding Ariz St or UNLV.
  13. This is why I just despise Education Doctorates because all they seem to dwell on are PC issues. Look at the last Dean and his problems.
  14. If the Big Ten offers, the new President would jump at a chance. The Big Ten offers the CIC, which I imagine we'd get at least affiliate status. In addition, the Big Ten offering just a small part of the BTN revenue would be huge. Not great for fans, but the President and Chancellor would probably demand that we jump. Not saying it would happen, but the opportunity would be too good for UND. It's kind of what Ralph dreamed. If enough teams start a PAC12 league or west coast league (Ariz St, UNLV, Denver, Coll College, and two there PAC12 teams), we'd go there if given a chance, probably with Omaha.
  15. And Ariz St played in a 700 seat arena that no one could guess is home to a DI team. Bottom line is will it make money? And with a new USHL arena in Coralville and a BTN network tie in, that goes a long way for financial viability.
  16. CEO with mainly people skills don't have the vision to take research anywhere. UND is in a critical spot in its involvement with UAVs, oil/energy, and medicine to not have someone with a vision that can see through research possibilites. We can't have a president that is just on education autopilot anymore. UND can and should be an economic driver, not just a producer of graduates.
  17. Think Morgan Olsen is the favorite at this point. But biased more toward someone with a hard sciences background and able to navigate political channels locally and nationally. The two Kennedys are interesting, as well as Rudin from Boise St and Eisenbaumer from UTArlington. The last two probably wouldn't look at UND as a terminal destination.
  18. They added Hopkins as an affiliate for the Baltimore market. The B1G doesn't care so much about attendance as B1G Network cable markets, where they are making a fortune in carriage fees and advertising. That might be coming to an end, but Denver's appeal isn't with its fan base, but selling more BTN subscriptions in Colorado. Same thing with ASU, as neither of them are AAU schools.
  19. Iowa State is probably too leery of the Big 12's future to invest in any more sports. If Oklahoma or Texas start hockey, they'd announce it the next day. If we were offered a B1G slot, we'd have to take it. But think if ASU gets an B1G offer, the B1G would also offer Denver if there's no one else starting it. A lot of Big Ten eyes in the Colorado market. They don't call it the Pig Ten for nothing.
  20. USHL attendance has been very good in Iowa. Reminds me of Fargo U fans talking BS.
  21. There was a report in a Phoenix paper a couple days ago that ASU and the Coyotes were very close to signing a deal for a new arena in the Tempe area. Would suspect the B1G and NCHC wouldn't take ASU until after that arena is built. The WCHA could take them for a few years, as ASU wouldn't be so adverse to Alaska travel as the other WCHA teams are.
  22. But that new arena is very close to Iowa's campus. Just saying. But then again, Hunt's arena in KC could jump start UMKC down the road.
  23. They can get Iowa and Nebraska soon, and they'll be an even worse conference. The new arena in Coralville is close to Iowa's campus.
  24. If UNLV starts hockey, very much doubt the B1G goes after them. They are lower rated than UND. Ariz St would want UNLV as partners in their league, and that can only be the NCHC. Before UNLV started hockey talk, thought for sure the B1G would nab Ariz St. Now not so sure. The WCHA might get Ariz St and UNLV for a few years til Ariz St builds their new arena with the Coyotes in Tempe.
