There have been tweets lately, including a 16 y.o. kid, that UMKC is heading back to the Summit. But the latest is UMKC would add football.

UND women's soccer is #205 out of 322 on the Massey rankings, probably the highest they have ever been. Montana is the highest Big Sky team at #91. Idaho St and Weber St are both lowly rated teams at 269 and 277. UND's best performance so far was a tie against #113 N Iowa. NDSU has fallen badly this year as they are #266.

So NDSU doesn't fully fund FCOA then because they don't comply with Title IX by skimping on women's sports.

There was an upset yesterday as Minnesota lost for the first time in 40 home games and fell out of the #1 spot as Michigan State swept them. UND might have been helped by this in the Massey Ratings as Mich St lost to Ga Tech who UND also lost to. But UND's ranking rose 4 spots in Massey to #45.

Disterhaupt was on a video in UNDSPORTS where he says "we're so close" to stopping MSU's offense. He emphasized that the mistakes are getting closed. Could that be reality? Did the yotes recognize some tendency and took advantage of it and MSU followed through on the yotes tactics?

Soccer teams do not use turf much. The original athletic plan was to build a new oval in the parking lot north of the IPF and build a new parking ramp on the IPF side of Columbia to make up for parking.

Would take them more seriously if it had an actual seating arrangement instead of SRO.

As witnessed by the UND team at Ole Miss, schools are upgrading their volleyball where necessary. Kansas, though it has a Top 20 team, is spending millions to expand and upgrade it's volleyball facility, which only seat like 1300 now, but will be razed and rebuillt to 3000+ shortly. http://www/.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article174068001.html In the Summit, Denver and USD have good to excellent facilities, but why NDSU insists on the Bensen Bunker gym is beyond my pay grade. But don't look at the ratings as now NDSU is in the top 90, though they didn't even push UND in that match. Most of the Big Sky is well below them, except Portland St and Sac St.

Kolpack just wrote an article that USD is an FCS power now because they have FCOA. Shouldn't that apply to us too?

UND swept No Colo in Greeley. Third set was 25-20.
-
Eeeked by in the 2nd set, 27-25.
-
UND seems to have shaken off previous slow starts as they beat UNC 25-18 in the first set. But started the 2nd set off badly, losing 7-2 so far.

Just saw that Davis is being shellacked 41-3 by Weber St in the 3rd. May be they are the type team we can be competitive with this year.

Some kind of arm injury. He was dressed in a Hoodie in the second half

Hope and pray you can finish out your senior season in the style you have shown over the years.

Heard that Nebraska isn't even getting a full share of a Big Ten distribution until next year. Their conference proceeds they are getting now are less than what they would have go out of the B12. Next year when they start getting the full distribution, the Huskers might make a sports move, but still itcould be later with all the departing coaches and AD'S guarantees having to be paid.

Last week was bitter that fans were going to throw in the towel for the year. This week, I'm one of them. We need a QB like Murray or Streveler to at least practice against. The injuries have devastating our defense and even OL. This is a development year, as much as I hate to say it, but there is no LB's available to play. Having safety's playing at LB just doesn't cut it, and having a OL that doesn't create holes is worse. My regret is that actually was looking forward to the playoffs and progressing - and that is dead now.

A volleyball website has this article on UND this week: http://volleymob.com/north-dakota-continues-improve-heading-conference-play/

UND fell after the Cal Poly game, and Portland St has been inching up seemingly this whole season. The Vikings lost to Boise St and Santa Clara, which are below where UND sits. Since the game is at Portland, PSU is the favorite, but if the game was in Grand Forks, UND would be the favorite. Sac St seems like the other likely challenger, as squads like No Ariz and No Colo and Idaho St have plummeted in Massey from last year.
-
The Massey Rankings now have Portland St as a favorite to win all their Big Sky games and go undefeated in the conference. The match at Portland will go a long way to decide who hosts the tournament, and theoretically, UND can go 15-1 is the BSC and still not host. Seriously doubt UND will be an at large team after that loss to Ga Tech, the Cal Poly loss is considered differently as they are so strong, so that PSU game could make or break the season. Portland St is only a slight favorite at Sac St, but if we lost at Portland we'd have to have a one game lead over PSU to host the tournament. Most of the Big Sky teams we'll have to roll 3-0 over them to impress the P5 selection committee, and we failed last night.

http://www.greeleytribune.com/sports/268900bears-volleyball-still-searching-for-identity-heading-into-conference-play/ The No Colo Bears were picked 2nd preseason, but haven't lived up to that so far. The game is Saturday, and at Southern Utah is tonight. The article states that UND lost to Hawaii twice - didn't do good fact checking there.

Looks like the WCHA is still talking expansion and divisions. If Arizona St had accepted, imagine Simon Fraser would have made it 12. Now, Simon Fraser will have to wait, as Minot St isnt ready, especially to finance a team Maybe down the road. But still believe that BGSU and maybe Ferris St and UAH are not long for this league. http://content.miningjournal.net/sports/2017/08/a-closer-look-at-the-wcha/

UND remains at #11 on the mid major poll, while Cal Poly is #4. UNI rose to #7 and for the first time this season, is rated on the main poll. Hawaii, which considers mens and womens volleyball a marquee sport and has the crowds to prove it, is rated 5 spots below UND. Portland St, which Massey rankings have a few points below UND, did not get a vote. http://volleyballmag.com/vbm-mid-major-poll-volleyball-byu-new-no-1-wku-uni-move-up-rice-radford-get-in-091917/

Akron looks to restart baseball after not sponsoring it for a couple years. Only this time, it wouldn't be financed by Akron but by community funds. Also Akron will sponsor women's lacrosse to for Title IX purposes. http://www.gozips.com

Tamera Merseli was named this week offensive player of the week by the Big Sky. Ironically another Belgrade, Serbia player from Portland St was chosen defensive POW.
