There was an article in a San Antonio paper that reported on UIW-UTSA game in 2019 and UIW will be playing North Texas and UNM that same year. Not my fault for shoddy journalism. UIW has more students than Rice, SMU, or TCU. Texas mentality says go big. If they have money, nothing could stop them. A billionaire can make Mayville St into an FBS school if thats his heart's desire. Americans are allowed to pursue big dreams.

Incarnate Word out of San Antonio is looking at cutting out some of their 23 sports to go FBS. They just finished their DI transition this year and havent done anything at FCS but they are looking into FBS. Their stadium doesn't seat 15k, but they could play in the Alamo Dome, like UTSA. UTA&M-San Antono is also fast growing so that might want to get ahead of them. They have a sugar daddy, Tom Benson, the owner of the NO Saints, and he is gething up there, so he might be planning to give more. The school is a comprehensive universith that needs more awareness even in Texas. FBs could do it. They have already scheduled three FBS games for 2019. So a school is looking to cut back on sports to afford FBS. Hmm. Where have I heard that?

The Ivy contingent of the ECAC would flatly oppose a Lberty invite. If they stated their own league, maybe a new ECaC would invite them. Without a hockey conference, Liberty would struggle with scheduling. Georgia needs a place on campus to practice. Gwinnet is the mecca for hockey and people near UGa. Gwinnet UGA hockey would be like Penn St quickly.

UNC dispatched both Montana's in sweeps. Something is very wrong with team chemistry.

Liberty probably won't move up until Atlantic Hockey actually invites them. Georgia could play games in the Gwinnett Coliseum, which has hosted ECHL teams and less than an hour from Athens.

Think it's much bigger that. With the funk this team is in, they will lose all remaining games. Lost the timing as this team does not seem to have a sparkplug leader. An older version of this team would have trounced the Montanas, as that pair is maybe the weakest in the Big sky. It's llike the team doesn't enjoy each other any more because of personality issues.

And that's why a Summit Football League is needed now to have another men's sponsored sportsin the Summit, to avoid starting men's soccer, which would cost as much as lax and NDSU and SDSU could avoid the costs too.

Past reasons for not sponsoring hockey are: 1. It not so popular in Maryland to begin with, so support would be bad. With the Capitals and hockey growth among the youth, probably not so valid now. West Point and Colo Springs are much more natural spots for hockey. 2. They would have to recruit players that want a military career and have excellent academics. Cuts out Canadian players and much of Americans. They would be effectively be recruiting against Army and Air Force for players, hurting both those programs. 3. Their McMullen Arena only has seating on one side.

This article says Oakland U did a DI hockey study 20 years ago when the school was DII and a member of the GLIAC. Apparently, they went DI shortly thereafter and must have decided taking hockey up would have been too much to chew on. Now there are actual choices of conferences which may be open to a new school.

Idaho went 0-6 at home against Portland St and Sac St, to end its lead in the north division. UND, Portland St, and Sac St really are rather closely together at the top of the Big Sky, and then there is a big drop. UND currently ranks 32nd among the 350 odd DI teams in attendance. There is only 16 schools with more than 2000, much of them in the Midwest, like Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Wichita St, UNI, and Iowa St. Would be nice to get over 1500 average as that would be a worthwhile milestone for recruiting.

Getting more than 1200 on Saturday morning on a day which was filled with football and hockey home matches was impressive. Be interested to see next weekend for two 7 PM matches.

Not hosting will be rather tragic for fans. A UND hosted conference tournament would be filled to the rafters for every UND game. If they win at Sac St, they won't have a home game again. Sac St swept Idaho at Idaho. So Sac St moves to 9-0, and UND, PSU and Idaho are at 7-2.

I hope there is a search committee of one: Kennedy using a team of advisors. Major decisions aren't made by committee elsewhere. Committees at UND have a habit of really sucking. The buck stops with Kennedy and it should start with him too.

Almost 2000 on hand for the match. That's good as Saturday mornings don't get very good turnouts like for EWU coming up. Sac St leading at Idaho 1-0 and also leading in the second set. We need Sac St to lose 3 BSC matches for us to host as Sac hasn't lost one yet. This is needs to happen for any chance of hosting.

Have to wait for Idaho's President to pipe in about they will move to save it with the Montanas if we all go FBS when the Summit is in absolute turmoil with the loss of IPFW. The FBS move will be conveniently laid at the feet of Idaho's President and their fans will rejoice rather than lynch him. For all the newspaper talk that Faison was forced out at Kennedy's insistence, Faison isn't the least bit distraught and seems rather happy. A man waiting until 67 to retire is out of the ordinary but that's strangely not talked about in the press. Faison laid the Foundation with some tough tasks that shouldn't go to a new AD and that seems to be faulted to Faison in the Press, when it was Kennedy that wanted those tasks done.

And it hasn't applied for the Hockey East vacancy when Notre Dame left either, though that's miles closer. The admin know what is possible and they don't waste time on what will not be approved. A CCHA of BGSU, Robert Morris, Niagara, Canisius, Mercyhurst and a sixth them will form when a school close to Lake Erie starts hockey. Oakland, Buffalo, Pitt or Syracuse.

No it doesn't. Canisius, Niagara, and Robert Morris are all DI, have DI hockey, and want to make it shine more in a CCHA But those schools don't have enough oomph yet to make it go. Oakland would be start, Buffalo would add significant fuel, and Pitt would make it blast off.
