  1. Here's an interesting article about URI. If they drop football, they maybe can fund M&W hockey and even M&W lacrosse. Their Bradford Boss Arena on campus would be sufficient for the AHA but they would probably have to move men's games to the Dunkin Donuts Arena in Providence if they want in Hockey East. URI just needs to decide to drop their losing fb program that doesn't have much upside. http://pucksandrecreation.com/providential-precedent-rhode-island-rams-hockey-program/
  2. UND's shutout over Mo St was a freakish kind of occurrence, as UND seemed to get all the game breaks at the right time. Mo St fumbling at our 1/2 yard line is one example. But the opposite dynamic seemed to occur at the Dakota Dome, as any break suddenly did not go UND's way. The interception called back is merely one example. It was a freakish game from a probability standpoint as we were totally dominated score wise just like we totally dominated Mo St score wise. Not saying the results would be any different, but both games should have been closer. The depth of the OL and ILB are major concern as well as our mental game. Not trying to minimize the problems that were exposed. But the results of a single game are not representative of either teams overall season. That was true last year also as there was no rabbit feet appeared against Stony Brook or Bowling Green, but fate was kind to us the rest of the season.
  3. Portland St has climbed up in the Massey ratings to five behind UND at #54. The match in Portland may be tough. UNI beat Nebraska and Iowa St this weekend, but lost to Kansas St after only a couple hour break. The Big 12 and Big 12 are mostly dominating the rankings so far and those are two great teams. UND can build the program to that level competively.
  4. This may have been posted: Former Gopher QB thriving at USD
  5. Utah 37 San Jose St 13, late in the 3rd The USD board says that their Coyote squad is vastly improved over last year, both offense and defense. It took a couple Streveler turnovers last year for UND to win, and they say Streveler is vastly improved and no longer prone to making dumb plays. Have to agree and think USD will be a force in the FCS playoffs. Think the XDSU's need to watch out, instead of mocking UND's team. The Montana State Board thinks they will roll just as USD did, but they are not nearly as good.
  6. Has STREVELER changed the USD program or this team? Would argue that he has made a huge difference for USD team just like Braden Hanson made for Mussman, but STREVELER makes a the whole offense more potent as someone needs to be watching him at all times. Braden Hanson had fantastic passing games against Montana and others, but his presence wasn't lasting.
  7. So your saying the season is shot? There's eight games left and still looking forward to the playoffs.
  8. This board gets so bipolar it's ridiculous,
  9. STREVELER is a force at the FCS level. He did more damage than Utah's QB.
  10. Augustana has DI facilities in SF for hockey. The other SD schools won't start it and there is a huge opportunity there. The WCHA needs more teams in the NSIC footprint as the widespread league needs to consolidate on the upper Midwest. BGSU, UAH, and Ferris St could well be looking elsewhere and Eastern schools may bite.
  11. UND could lose a game in the BSC and still make the playoffs. But it certainly hurts for playoff ranking.
  12. Massey Rankings now have Cal Poly at #17, while UND dropped to #50.
  13. UND wins the deciding 5th, 15-8. IUPUI was a tougher out than I thought.
  14. UND getting out quick in the 5th set, 8-1. Maybe the fb team will follow this example. Dooley with a big game late as she has 18 kills. Score now 10-3 UND.
  15. IUPUI won the 4th set, 27-25. Being out blocked and too many service errers.
  16. UND is hurting themselves with 10 uncharacteristic service errors. IUPUI leading by 1 in the middle of the 4th set.
  17. UND out hit IUPUI badly in the third set, 25-20. Brueggeman seemed to get her hitting going.
  18. IUPUI won the second set 25-19. Something is wrong with this team or IUPUI may good adjustments. Absolutely getting demolished by hitting in that set and IUPUI is matching the blocking.
  19. UND 25 IUPUI 18 in the first set, Merseli hasn't slowed down.
  20. State leaders would want nothing to do with Groenwald or his wife. Peddling crap seems to be your specialty.
  21. So U of Mary announced they are adding ACHA DI hockey with an experienced JC coach that was already on staff. A lot of posters will disagree, but it seems Minot St and Mary are teaming up to be a pair in the WCHA and they will get support from NSIC schools and Upper MiƧhigan schools. An AD doesn't typically announce the creation of a new club sport unless they are serious about it down the road for varsity, but Dale Lennon was excited about the announcement. Both Minot St and Mary haven't done much at the DII level to create excitement about athletics but a DI hockey program could excite both cities unlike DII sports. Mary would need the Bismarck Civic Center to play at least bigger games, but that would seem possible. It may take several years before it happens, but Mary isn't adding club hockey just for the fun of it. Moorhead St would have been preferred by the WCHA but Mary isn't that far off. http://www.goumary.com/news/2017/9/15/general-university-of-mary-to-pursue-mens-ice-hockey-starting-fall-2018.aspx
  22. Having a women's hockey category, which has been discontinued seems to diminish and insult those sports that are listed below it. Can it be made a subcategory in "Other Sports" so football, basketball, vball aren't diminished by listing them later? The talk on that category is pretty much over.
  23. UND wins set 3, 25-21, sweeps the sets. The goal is now to go undefeated in Big Sky play and only three losses on the season. That's a reasonable goal with this team.
  24. UND wins set 2, 25-23. 2-0 but worried, as GB might be tough to close out.
  25. Merseli seems to be getting back to her fine form. 11 kills so far in the 2nd set.
