+1 for some serious bird knowledge

Just curious...how does one "overrate" a fast food joint that serves a single meat product (excl. sausage biscuits) in about 5 total different ways? Say it's bland, or tasteless, or too salty, or too greasy, or too expensive, or too cheap, or compare it to the similar offerings at other FF restaurants, or something. One thing that is definitely NOT "overrated" is the service. Attentive and super polite. Table service, too, with refills brought to you.

Hysteria subsided pretty quick. Solid lunch crowds (never so much that I turned around and left). Drive thru very steady into the late evenings. Breakfast crowds have been very light, which is a bit surprising because they have awesome biscuits.

Thought about bumping an earlier post from like 2013, but I will simply come out and say anew that Casa Mexico in EGF is deserving of your business. Maybe a second look if you haven't been in a while, or even if you were disappointed the last time. They have shown some real staying power (a veritable miracle in this market) and there is good reason.

Ho-hum playoffs so far? Higher seeds have advanced in 6 of 7 series. Losers have won only 8 games in 7 completed series (1.1 wins on average). After tomorrow, this will go up to 11/8 (1.375 wins). One-goal regulation games: 10 (out of 42 total games played) OT games: 5 (includes 2 double OT); 4 of these were in a single series. Sweeps: 2 (but one featured 4 one-goal games, including one double OT, and the other featured 2 one-goal games)

I understand that there's some statistical nuance to compliance, but that's a lot of dollars and opportunities suddenly no longer being provided to men. I have to believe that a significant reallocation would be needed except in the most extreme cases. When your wife says "more likely," does she mean 90-10 or 51-49 or something in the middle? And is she assuming that men are generally less litigious or less likely to win?

Football - a consummate money-loser for many schools - is a bit of a challenge because pretty much every school built its Title IX compliance program around the big, male-only albatross. I suspect the elimination of football will look better on the balance sheet than in real life.

They were clearly motivated; that chip on their shoulder didn't seem hurt. Fan support appears to have been there, as well. And you can never totally dismiss the 'Vegas flu' phenomenon for visiting teams.

Didn't the Jags and Panthers both make the NFL playoffs pretty quickly? I think it comes down to quality personnel decision making and a favorable draft environment. Does anyone know if the Vegas NHL expansion draft was conducted the same as previous iterations, or whether there changes (e.g., roster protection) that inured to the benefit of the new club?

No amount of "creativity" will help when you've got a bland nickname in a bland location and your hands are tied by a long-standing controversy and open, gaping wounds. The Fighting Hawks logo was doomed before it ever came to be. They could have come up with the freaking Mona Lisa of college sports logos and it would not have made a bit of difference with most people. Pick 10, 20 or 100 of your favorite corporate/sports logos and then assess them based on the same "creativity" criteria you used here and let us know what you come up with. Simple lines? Reproducibility? Incorporation and integration of multiple elements? Recognizability? I'd be shocked if your off-the-cuff critique of UND's logo would hold up. In all honesty, this mascot is really UND's first chance to take a chance and come up with something fun. I am slightly optimistic.

The PA guy is gonna have fun with that.

Meineke, or Tires Plus?

First off, my heart breaks for the family that lost two kids on I-29 yesterday. Did anyone do (or try) the SF-GFK drive Sunday? Personally, after watching crazy heavy snow fall in GF most of the day, I feel like it was a good call not to go. As for Friday, I did take an occasional peek at SD road conditions that morning, and I don't think it would have been too much of an issue getting to Sioux Falls. No regrets here.
