  1. Ughh... Gonna be quiet and not derail this thread haha
  2. If UND get's >50% the ticket revenue, sure. Otherwise, no.
  3. Living in the cities, this kind of surprises me that grand forks plows the alleys. St. Paul alleys are plowed by private contractors, with households from each block pitching in to pay for it. They city council now wants the city to takeover alley plowing. When I lived on an alley in Grand Forks, almost ten years ago now, I don't remember this being an issue. I also don't remember if the city of GF plowed our alley or if it was a private contractor. Did this change recently?
  4. New arena to be built in Kansas city area. Doubt UMKC is interested though.
  5. Could also see people who plan on going to the game listing tickets at prices like this, and if the tickets sell, hoorah!
  6. Which is a sellout. College hockey gets tons of fans that attend the frozen four each year, no matter who is actually playing. That really isn't the case with FCS football right now. If the game was in a destination city, it would be easier for people who want to go to drag their family or friends along, and Nashville is a much more central location. The FCS championship, ideally, should be a huge annual party for ALL fans of FCS football. Also, you don't think NDSU fans would sell this place out? You gotta know they would... and a school like JMU would see better attendance as well. UND hockey just sold out the predators arena for a non conf game, largely due to the location. What would the hockey ticket sales look like if that game was in Frisco?
  7. Gotcha. Not sure what the big deal is that it's a soccer stadium. People who go seem to love the location and stadium. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Scratch that... I just google to see if Nashville has a stadium. It looks like they are working on a new MLS stadium that will be slightly larger than Frisco's. Frisco has my vote until this thing get's built. I think you would see a lot more FCS fans, from non championship teams, attend the game if it was in a city like this. Also more of a central location to most FCS teams. Capacity 27.5k
  8. Capicity refused in 2016 due to construction, correct?
  9. This guy had pretty much the opposite philosophy as Baukol, it seems. Good article. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1739903-how-to-build-a-bully-inside-the-stanford-football-strength-program
  10. Not the most accurate for FCS teams when they don't even bother to update the status of committed players. https://247sports.com/player/quincy-vaughn-46084437/ https://247sports.com/player/samuel-salih-fort-46056222/
  11. For comparison, how many do ND and MN have?
  12. Shouldnt we have had a wac team at home this year, as well?
  13. San Diego could be fun, although it has less potential than some some of the other options. Pechanga Arena in San Diego has 12.9K hockey capacity. Arena hosts an AHL team.
  14. It really baffles me how bad the message boards are at most p5 schools. We are REALLY lucky with Sioux Sports. I've found a rivals board and 247, but those really aren't that great, and many have paid, restricted viewing sections. Many p5 schools will have like a basketball section, football, and and often not even a specific area for non revenue sports. It's just odd that there is more message board chatter here for sports like womens volleyball and basketball than there is for PSU's hockey team, when there is enough interest to fill their barn with 6k people every game.
  15. Does Penn State have an active message board for hockey? The only one I can think of is thankyouterry.com, but I think the guy who ran it shut it down. With PSU selling out there arena every night, it's pretty crazy that their main message boards don't really have much hockey talk. I wan't to read about their thoughts on the game, but maybe nobody there cares.
  16. Seattle will be a flop. People travel partly for good weather imo.
  17. I look at it often as well. Was hoping to find it on way back machine, but no such luck.
  18. Just realized I had UNI on there twice, once with UND's budget. just updated it.
  19. Gotcha. Agree on too many guys with the same body type - you want a Randy Moss/Clive Georges (Greg Hardin) type to stretch the field. Many of us thought that Cam McKinney would be used this way, but that hasn't materialized for some reason. What would your ideal WR depth chart look like? WR - Fast deep threat guys WR - Tall slow "hands" guys WR - Quick/elusive short rout guys Something like that, all on the field at the same time? That's why I am bringing up the WR depth chart. It just seemed odd to me with the way the receivers that we actually had were paired up on the depth chart. Not sure how different the routes are, skillset-wise, for each of the receiver groupings that we have. I've never played competitive football, so I don't know much about the X's and O's type stuff, so I'm just throwing this out there to see what you guys think... this just seems logical to me.
  20. http://cafidatabase.knightcommission.org/reports Can filter out football revenue and schools here. Found an old spreadsheet that I made from their data - I think this is accurate for 2017. SDSU used to have a pretty small football budget - their expenses ballooned due to debt payments on their football facilities - paid 2.6M in debt service in 2018, allocated to the football budget. SDSU's football budget was only 3.46M in 2016. SchoolFootball Exp SDSU $ 6,173,730 NDSU $ 5,281,392 UND $ 4,464,097 ISUb $ 4,048,550 YSU $ 4,023,675 ISUr $ 4,016,804 MSU $ 3,858,335 FCS Median $ 3,738,296 USD $ 3,634,781 UNI $ 3,549,488 WIU $ 3,128,738
  21. I think I may have quoted you by accident in my initial post (maybe instead of siouxfan97). I did remember your post about receivers not being athletic enough, though, and then there was the post about what he could tell recruits, so my mistake if I misunderstood you. Perhaps the receivers didn't seem athletic enough, because some were running routes that didn't highlight their strengths? (too many tall/slower guys) Wasn't really a huge fan of Wanzek, Travis, and Maag as the top three starters, and feel like UND didn't have a traditional slot-type position (position, not player), so maybe something could be said about the depth chart or how our receivers are used. Was Maag our slot receiver this year? I think Griebel was on the depth chart behind him? Kinda feel like Maag Should have been grouped in with Wanzek and Toivenen, and have Boltman and other more shifty guys with griebel/chochran. Did all of our receivers run the same type of routes? I just feel like Maag had a lot of long balls thrown to him, and Griebel would be more of a short pass type of route runner, kind of like Boltmann, so the reciever groupings seemed kind of odd to me all year. Anyone have any insight on this, or what the philosophy is/was? Maybe I'm just wrong in knowing what these guys strengths and weaknesses are. This was the depth chart form the last game: Wide Receiver 31 Noah Wanzek (6-4, 207, Sr.) 4 Brock Boltmann (6-2, 212, So.) Wide Receiver 11 Travis Toivonen (6-4, 212, Sr.) 86 Alex Wilde (6-3, 210, Sr.) Wide Receiver 89 Garett Maag (6-4, 206, So.) 13 Mikey Griebel (5-7, 177, So.) This makes more sense to me: Wide Receiver 31 Noah Wanzek (6-4, 207, Sr.) 89 Garett Maag (6-4, 206, So.) Wide Receiver 11 Travis Toivonen (6-4, 212, Sr.) 89 Garett Maag (6-4, 206, So.) 86 Alex Wilde (6-3, 210, Sr.) Wide Receiver 4 Brock Boltmann (6-2, 212, So.) 13 Mikey Griebel (5-7, 177, So.) OR McKinney? Cochran?
  22. That's what I was thinking. Freund was the running backs coach that season. By the time he was our wr coach, we had an entirely new coaching staff and offensive philosophy. I still really dont understand how you can knock the guy on his recruiting.
  23. You referring to a game when Muss was still coach and we had a different OC? I asked what he should say without lying, but perhaps I should have said without lying OR misleading, because this hypothetical recruit just transferred after realizing he was mislead by coach. If you were referring to last years game, UND had more rushing yards than passing yards (282 and 254, respectively).
