  1. This is the first time ever I'm expecting UND to beat NDSU. They deserve the benefit of the doubt with their pre season ranking, but despite last years record, they didn't look all that great... there were cracks that appeared, and now they have to reload their roster. Now that they don't have an NFL QB or Luepke to rely on, they aren't any more special than UNI, imo.
  2. Great interview with Patty Viverito with some interesting comments lol. Pretty sure she calls NDSU's AD incompetent at one point. https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-youngstown-penguin-footbal-116925821/episode/conference-commissioner-patty-viverito-joins-the-show-119278173/?cmp=android_share&sc=android_social_share&pr=false
  3. You serious? Sounds like he was minding his own business and doing nothing wrong, but you're trying to put him on blast, on a public message board, why exactly? Really a low class move and the reason why shouldn't need to be explained. Just tasteless..
  4. Article discusses the status of the GF airport. https://www.grandforksherald.com/business/bigger-aircraft-means-mainline-service-returns-to-grand-forks-international-airport-for-first-time-since-2005 How often does UND athletics fly commercial from Grand Forks? Good thing I suppose with ASU is that there is an existing Allegient flight to the area, which is pretty lucky. Really can't believe Grand Forks doesn't have a Denver connection.
  5. Who wants to open a brewery? Regarding the now-closed taproom, Winjum said he does not have any immediate plans, but is open to renting the space and equipment to an interested business owner. “There are so many options and possibilities for that,” he said. “If there’s anybody out there that’s passionate about opening a business and comes to us with a plan, we’re open to ideas. We’ll see what happens.” https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/local/rhombus-guys-brewing-closes-downtown-taproom-will-cease-brewing-operations
  6. How does UND determines whether guys like this play DL or Linebacker? He is really fast and sounds like he could play LB, similar to a Jaxson Turner type. Given that UND plays the 3-4, can anyone tell me about the traits the OLB need to have VS. our DE? Obviously the DE should be bigger, but at the same time, we always seem to have a LB at the line of scrimmage as well. Are both OLB positions at UND the same, or is one of the OLB players supposed to be heaver or faster than the other OLB on the field? I've never played competitive FB, just trying to learn the intricacies of UND's defense.
  7. If we had waited a few months he probably would have picked some offers up. Wouldn't have made him any better or worse.
  8. I read somewhere it will be zoom again. Guessing it will be ESPN+ moving forward.
  9. Does a schollarship cover all flight costs?
  10. @Yote 53 Have you heard anything on the status of Iowa State's club program? They were suspended by the university and had to be restructured before bringing the team back. I think they will play again starting this year or next year. Do you know if they will continue to have a competitive program moving forward, or did the university basically destroy the program?
  11. At 18:30 mark, MVFC commissioner says they are very close to finalizing negations with ESPN for an extension of the MVFC media deal - hopes to have updates by media day. https://www.spreaker.com/user/big987fm/patty-viverito-commissioner-of-the-mvfc-

    ASU to NCHC

For now. We still don't know the long term status of single sport conferences. They may not be viable going forward. The current moratorium on new single sport conferences was pushed back until January of 2025. There a a ton of directions college hockey can go, and there will be a ton of movement once we know what the structure of the NCAA looks like. This moratorium on single sport conferences is part of the reason Atlantic Hockey never split, its why the D2 NE10 schools haven't made any moves yet, and it's why the independent schools haven't done anything. Utica is waiting to move up to D2 until they have a home for hockey, but since Atlantic Hockey hasn't given them a home, they now need to wait until 2025 until they can officially join a hockey conference. Binghampton is starting a program, and should probably be up and going for 2025 as well. I see Miami looking East, but it might take a couple years. I would think Sacred Heart and RIT would like better competetition, given their recent investments, and RIT can finally offer scholarships, by the way. IMO, a new CCHA-level conference will be formed and it will feature some of these schools, along with maybe BGSU and the schools in western Pennsylvania.

    ASU to NCHC

Yeah they just need some time to develop the program. Not all that different than ASU in that respect.
  14. Either you have or haven't. Stop trolling.
  15. More pics/info http://www.coliseums.com/tahoe-south-nv.html
  16. Anyone know anything about this?
  17. My guess for next out of nowhere NCAA D1 hockey program. This school has an ACHA D1 program that plays out of the Blackhawks former practice facility.
  18. For all of you degenerates reading a football message board during the work day, mid summer, check out this video. This guy doesn't get enough credit for his coverage of FCS football at the national level. Nearly an hour and a half of general FCS football talk. Haven't finished it yet and I haven't heard him discuss UND yet, so I am reserving the right to edit this post and bash him .
  19. You're correct. Here's a link to their schedule: https://midcosports.com/schedule/ To save you a click, screen grab below shows Midco Sports Plus streaming for everything but hockey.
  20. Considering all the antitrust issues the NCAA has faced, I think it's interesting people completely poo poo the idea of a new fbs conference.
  21. Last year Midco also streamed broadcast and streamed an away game or two that wasn't available on ESPN+ (a seperate UND specific broadcast). I think it was either the Youngstown or Indiana State game. Would be worth to you for sure. Biggest issue will be the UNI game on ESPN3, which is exclusive to ESPN because it's the MVFC "game of the week". ESPN will have exclusivity for that game. MVFC has the worst ever "TV" contract. This is supposed to be the last season of the existing MVFC/ESPN "TV" deal. Hopefully a new one is renegotiated before the season starts. Could potentially be why none of the teams in the MVFC are showing ESPN+ listings on their schedules yet, but then again, that wouldn't explain why the game of the week is showing up for the UNI game. MVFC was on a podcast with Chaves over the winter and she said they were working with Leona to renegotiate the deal with ESPN. Probably talking about for next year, but maybe things change before the last scheduled season of the contract..
  22. The WIKI page that has been used for keeping tabs on recruiting has been broken for some time now. I know that the people who run this site are busy, but is this something that will be fixed or is it a thing of the past? Would be helpful to know because if it won't be fixed, it could be worthwhile for us to keep the first page of a thread updated with all current recruits, for example, if there isn't an alternative solution.
  23. Would be nice, but I'm pretty sure UND is making over 500K from NCHC.TV. Midco has the TV & Streaming rights to everything but streaming for hockey. That number comes from page 26, here: https://campus.und.edu/operations/_files/docs/fy22-ncaa-report.pdf The 280K number, under Not Allocated by Gender, is what Midco paid UND for TV & non-hockey Streaming rights, but with the new contract it has since increased to 500K per year, plus an annual donation of 125K to the Champions Club, plus additional sponsorship spending and equipment investments (such as the set and cameras for the hockey pre game show, and fiber being run out to the soccer field). The NCHC has the exclusive streaming rights for hockey games. 80 or 85% of the streaming revenue for hockey goes back to the schools, based on fan affiliation selected by the subscribers.
