  1. On to Bobby Mo and the home opener. We got a lot to work on but there were a couple of good things that came out of tonight.

Its so weird about that game in 2011 and how in that one moment it caused 2 schools to diverge. USD fired their coach after the game and UND extended theirs. What if USD put up 50 and won the Great West outright, would have Ed stayed through MVFC play and Glenn never comes. Does Muss get fired and instead of Bubba we end up with DeBoer or Nielsen? Oh well, guess we will never know and its time to look ahead. Forever in Sioux Football lore, Brent Gotska
  3. The only score prediction I will make is that UND will cover the spread. Other predicitions: We will get through the game healthy We will get 3 sacks Mollberg will have a good game Simmons is the leading rusher of the game (right around 85-90 yards) Walker will score UND's first touchdown Oh and the first play of UND's season will be a run to the right side of the o-line

Damn you Gotska. You just had to lead that comeback against USD.
  5. Its not the best idea ever, but is wayyy better than a lot of ideas. This one would fit in my (okay name but would need a killer looking logo to make up for it) criteria
  6. How has Syd looked at setter?
  7. Excited for the new year. Ill be watching on the tres Thurs night
  8. I want the Vikings to take a shot at either one, they can still use help at WR.
  9. What we lack right now in hitting we make for in strong defense and at the service line too. A fifth year senior as a setter doesnt hurt either.
  10. They have had a pretty good run these past few years in the WAC. They pretty much brought back the whole team off a 19-11 squad. They have some height for their girls (6'3, 6'4). Not surprised with how the preseason polls came down, pretty much went down like I thought it would with a few switches here or there. Figured we would be in the top 4 with ISU, NAU and Idaho. UNC and PSU with potential to break into the top 4. Makes that trip out to Pocatello on Oct 11th that much more important. The sooner we can get our middle established the better. That will be the key to our season.
  11. http://www.undsports.com//ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=209607637 UND picked 4th being ISU, NAU, and Idaho.
  12. I was there I touched it REA security took a blurry pic. Boo
  13. Acutally no I didn't. Blame my youth and nativity.
  14. Fair point. The whole thing is just dumb. Figure the U of M President would have bigger issue than that to deal with
  15. In the overall scheme, nothing really. I was just focusing on an example that would made that "policy" null and void (there is more than football). In this context it doesn't apply. Beside the only connection between the Gophs and Florida State football right now is a certain recruiting coach who likes his chili hot.
  16. You guys do realize that the last few times they played the Noles in bball was the ACC/Big 10 Challenge? Which they really don't get much of a say in anyways.

I'll agree with that statement, but it was nice to get out and actually see some of these guys in some sort of action. They will have good days and bad. I hope to sneak out in the morning and watch the practice again but we shall see.

I think the #17 jersey needs to get burned or something, Flowers didn't look too hot today when I saw him. He got beat pretty bad on a few 1 on 1s today.

I took a peak at practice today to see how things were looking early on and here is what I came away with -Impressed with freshman wideouts Stanley and Walker. Stanley was catching everything thrown to him and Walker had made a few moves in 1 on 1 drills early. Walker was playing with the 1st unit alongside Ivery when team split into 1/2 and 3/4 -Hinojosa: my first impressions of him is that there is definitely substance behind the hype. He got a sack and swatted at a pass his last 2 defensive possessions of the day. -Mollberg and Bartles were inconsistent but felt Mollberg had the better day. He was with the first unit right away. Bartles had a few snap issues under center. -Carr is fast, in the 1 on 1 drills vs db he was beating them to the corner of the end zone from the 10 yard line every time. -Cerriteno practiced in shorts, but his day was cut short after pulling up with an apparent hamstring injury. He was helped off and watched practice in crutches. -If Idowu and Labat are the starting OLB for week 1, then we will be in excellent shape. Idowu looks to be ready for a breakout year and Labat looks the role at OLB.
  20. From all the girls that left voluntarily, I count 3 Defensive Specialists, 1 setter/Defensive Specialist, 1 Outside Hitter, and 1 Outside Hitter/Middle. The biggest loss out of all of those was Yager, but overall it wasn't too bad considering most of the defections where in positions where there was a lockdown starter already or was going to be lost in the talent shuffle. We need our middles to be ready come day 1, we have the defense and hitters to win the conference but we need to have our blocking game to be strong. One of our freshman needs to be like Pioske was last year up the middle. Way too early predicitons Big Sky Southwest 1) ISU 2) NAU 3) PSU 4) SAC 5) WEB 6) SUU Big Sky Northeast 1) UND 2) Idaho 3) UNC 4) MONT 5) EWU 6) MSU
  21. While there are many examples of these "bad" styles of jerseys... remember this Lets try a "real" conversation Assistant Coach: What do you think of the new jerseys Head Coach: ridiculous, we look like clowns out there. AC: maybe so, but that 4 star QB we are looking at for next year just tweeted he really loves them, so does that 3 star linebacker. HC: Well, I guess they aren't that bad. Stupid? Yes. So is giant HDTV in every bathroom sink in practice facilities. Its the name of the game now and if those unis are the difference between getting the players to get you to the next level and pay check vs updating your resume. To quote a Fall out Boy song: Its aint a scene, its an arms race.
  22. Kids don't dream of playing state in Bemidji, Duluth, Warroad, etc... its the X and Mariucci, before that it was the St. Paul Civic Center. If you asked the EGF hockey coach if state was held in Warroad or the X, I bet he would pick the X 9 times out of 10. MSHSL is not going to turn down the money they get from sold out sessions at the class AA level to rotate it. The people in the metro would literally riot. And the class A would be upset if their tournament was not at the same site as the other classes, make them seem inferior to the big boys. If La Crescent (way in the SE corner of MN) made it to state from class A, how many people would be willing to drive the 8.5 hours to Warroad? Anywhos... hopefully the video boards are the first real step in improving the facility. I can't wait to see them Sept 6th.
  23. Maybe its because they, for a lack of a better word, suck! 2013: 2-10 2012: 2-10 2011: 6-6 2010: 2-10 2009: 0-12 2008: 3-9 2007: 4-8 2006: 1-11 2005: 4-7 2004: 4-7 Football Records the last 10 years. You've said it and other have said it many times. Win and they will come. How do you expect average joe bandwagoner to support the team if you have averaged 2.4 wins the last 5 years
