  1. Messi is showing up in this tourney. 4 goals in 3 games
  2. Opa! Break out the Ouzo and shatter some plates, the Greeks are moving on to the knockout stages to play Costa Rica Columbia wins group and will take on Uruguay, which I hope they put 5 on those dirty cheaters
  3. Lets get the next season thread up and going. Schedule so far: Nov 15 @ Colorado Nov 16-23 WNIT Tourney (TBD) Jan 1 Montana Jan 3 Montana State Feb 14 @ Montana Feb 16 @ Montana State TBD: Minnesota TBD: @ NDSU TBD: @ USD My early message: Get the Bunnies back on the schedule!
  4. Suarez should be suspended for the rest of the world cup for biting. Italy just self destructed before our very eyes.
  5. We should have a home game against Omaha, a return game from Bracketbusters
  6. 3 Games of interest tomorrow: Netherlands/Chile: Should be a barn burner, both teams showing that they are capable of making a deep run in this World Cup. Chile will have the massive support of their home country behind them and without RVP, the Netherlands need to dig deep. Winner more than likely avoids Brazil in the Round of 16... or will they even qualify? Brazil/Cameroon: Panic for the hosts? A loss and a Mexico/Croatia tie would send them home, and my god what a disaster that would be. Cameroon would have to play the game of their lives to do it, but as we have seen so far in this World Cup, anything is really possible. Mexico/Croatia: No matter what, at least one of these teams will advance, with El Tri having the bigger advantage. A win or a draw sends them on their way for sure. Croatia will more than likely need to win to advance or would need Cameroon to beat Brazil if they tied.
  7. Any result (win or draw) advances the US into the knockout stages no matter what Ghana/Portugal does A loss and a Ghana/Portugal tie does the same Goal Differentials Germany +4 US +1 Ghana -1 Portugal -4 To be fair, if someone told me the US would be in this position a week ago, I would have said they were crazy.
  8. Germany and Ghana play to a 2-2 tie If the US can beat Portugal (which is very doable, especially if Ronaldo doesn't play), they advance to the knockout stages. A draw doesn't get them there but it helps the cause. A loss and things get nasty.
  9. Messi steals one for Argentina they move on to the knockout round
  10. Costa Rica pulls yet another upset, this time over Italy. They are moving on to the knockout stages. England is going home.
  11. Spain and the Aussies are done. Chile and the Dutch move on.
  12. Spain is in very grave danger of getting knocked out. Its all Chile right now, 2-0!
  13. Ochoa was a beast and gave El Tri a much needed point. Mexico is in very good shape to advance to the knockout stages. So far North American teams have been exceeding expectations so far (USA, Mexico, Costa Rica) Big game tomorrow between Chile and Spain, the Spaniards must get a result or the defending champs and one of the favorites will be knocked out.
  14. John Brooks.. enough said. 3 Big time points
  15. Then proceded to get one of their best players knocked out of the game.
  16. Mexico gets a big win over Cameroon, if they had any chance of advancing from group play Rumors of the Netherlands demise have been greatly exaggerated as they lay a beatdown of Spain. RVP had a sick header!
  17. A few notes for those who are not aware Volleyball divisions were announced UND UNC MONT MSU IDAHO EWU WEBER SAC NAU PSU ISU SUU Men's golf will be reinstated as a conference sport (as a golf enthusiast I am happy for this) Montana will be starting a women's softball team next year.
  18. NAU is the only hockey-football conflict weekend. SFI kinda hinted that it could be Midco related too.
  19. If Nash gets his 6th year, that will change the entire expectations for next year. With Nash we will fill a major hole at the 4 and get more athleticism. Before Shanks can get eligible in the 2nd half a lineup can be Hooker Tyler Stefan Nash Calc/Salmonson Antwi Calc/Salmonson Coleman Crandall Benton Houbaugh This fits in with my bold prediction that Geno plays from day 1 and is the backup point to Hooker. Its not a bad lineup, Hooker will improve, Tyler will be solid (do what he did down in UMKC, but cut down on his turnovers). Stefan to get his shots, Nash doing his thing like he did last year. Someone from Calc and Salmonson needs to step up and deliver at the 5. When Shanks gets eligble, put him instead of Calc/Salmonson and move Calc to the 4 where he will be better suited and let Ryan play the 5. Then you have a team that can go 10 deep. With that we can redshirt Cashman and Sheilds for a year and when Cal/Nash/Salmonson graduate we have a solid and young backcourt to go with a nice front court. With that, we can compete for a top spot in the Sky. Some people might think 1 person can't be enough to change expectations THAT much, but in this instance it can. It will change everything not only for this year, but for future years. Hooker Tyler Stefan Nash Shanks Crandall Antwi Coleman Calc Salmonson Not a bad starting lineup and can get some solid production from the bench too.
  20. Ah, that makes more sense. I forgot about him not being on scholly. No offense to Leach, but I really hope that Nash can get his 6th year. That will change everything for this team.
  21. You would think, but I remember reading on the verbal commitment page last year that all the seniors had scholarships. That would be 7 to replace. With Geno, Cashman, Coleman, Shanks, and Shields that is 5. If that is the case, they would have 2 more left. 1 for Leach, if he comes, and 1 for Nash, if the NCAA is nice. If neither go through, find a transfer for the 6th and give either Shane or Dustin the other. I think Jones did a very nice job in evening out the classes with these recruits for the most part.
  22. Summer Shandy is very good, as I am enjoying one right now. Definitely enjoy a Spotted Cow whenever my dad can get it (I wonder if he got some when he went through Wisconsin last) and yuengling is pretty good (our neighbor got us some when she went to PA one summer, however she accidentally got us light beer ). I enjoy the Shock Top with Raspberry Wheat. When my girlfriend drinks beer, she enjoys a pear beer cider (Magners I believe its called).
  23. To add a few more dates for conference (and using UNC has a travel guide for most of it) 9/25 Eastern Washington 9/27 Idaho 10/3 @ Montana 10/4 @ Montana State 10/10 @ Weber State 10/11 @ Idaho State 10/16 Portland State 10/18 @ UNC 10/23 NAU 10/25 SUU 10/30 @ Sac State 11/1 UNC 11/6 Montana State 11/8 Montana 11/13 @ Idaho 11/15 @ Eastern Washington Our division is Montana, MSU, Idaho, UNC, and Eastern. I like that we get PSU and NAU in our gym.
  24. Very good news, lots of quality competition in that tournament, last years teams that were in it Georgia State Gonzaga Idaho IPFW Louisville Loyola (IL) LSU Mount St. Mary's North Carolina A&T Oklahoma Quinnipiac St. Joseph's Stephen F. Austin Stetson Tennessee-Martin Wichita State Must be some big expectations if we are included in this tourney. Let's see if we can't do some damage in it this year.
  25. I would put Norberg in the running at ILB spot and would consider Sharp fighting for reps at the RB2 , otherwise I don't have an issue with the chart.
