  1. Or.... Neither one starts next year
  2. Anyone hear the extent of the injuries to Mollberg and McGill and Maverick?
  3. Thank god for a bye week. Seriously
  4. I really want that Egg Bowl to be special.
  5. Walker is dressed, haven't seen dev yet.
  6. UNC knocked off ISU tonight as well. Game became a whole lot bigger with a chance to go 2 up on conference pre-season favorite w/ tiebreaker tomorrow night in Poky
  7. IMO, if the team starts winning and gets back to being respected again, the students will come back, which will lead to that stereotype being fixed. Now if 4 years down the road this happens and UND students STILL aren't showing up, then there is a bigger problem at hand and then you can talk about getting rid of some student seating. Don't blame the consumer for not buying the product or buying it again if the product sucks (through experience or word of mouth).
  8. I would agree with the assessment at football. As a student with a longer track record and has gone through the Mussman era and seen first hand how we once went from a packed 12,000 Alerus to nearly "5,000" against UNC. You are not far off as to how far football has fallen in the "respect" category here at UND. Now, I see that this perception is slowing beginning to change. Beating Montana last week would have improved that image 10 fold but it is what it is. To me, respectability is competing for Big Sky titles and making deep runs in the playoffs. Once we start getting teams to that level again, more will come. This year at the very least the students who show up to the games, tend to stay a lot longer than they did the past 2 years. Alerus security has gotten a lot better, they used to rag on us for every little thing. Not so much anymore.
  9. Bet that means Blue Moon is now at 8 too. Eh, who cares... its the first game! Get to break out the business suit all day on campus tomorrow... can't wait!
  10. Offense puts up best performance of the year to date and the D continues its shutdown work. The Al rocks with 10K UND 27 PSU 10
  11. I said it earlier in this thread PERCEPTION The general perception of the football team to the average student is not very good. The diehard will come no matter what for the most part but for those average ones it does. Now since the season has started that perception is slowing changing. I will give credit were credit it due however. That was the loudest it has been in the Alerus since the epic 8 down goal line stand against USD my freshman year.
  12. Lets go back to what we did my freshman year. CAMPOUT! oh wait..... lets not
  13. UND needs to end a disturbing trend in which they have lost the past 4 homecoming games. Offense needs to take the next step and the D needs to keep their foot on the gas. Next two games are crucial if they want a legit shot of going at least 6-6 and 4-4 in conference play.
  14. If Hokes seat wasnt on fire now, its an inferno after losing to Rutgers.
  15. Can we pound Portland next week? Seriously?
  16. I wouldn't argue with starting Coleman being at the 3 either, my reasoning for putting Stefan ahead of Coleman was that I would like the idea of having a 3 point threat out of 4 of the 5 starting spots and I think with the driving abilities of Hooker, Tyler, and Nash he is going to get a lot of open looks to bury. I'd like to see that right out of the gate. I wouldn't argue Coleman getting the nod, but I think he can be an early asset off the bench in the fact he could guard a little at the 4 if Nash needs a blow or is in foul trouble. I would rather see him rather than Salmonson and Calc together at the 4 and 5, and we can still run small ball lineup with him at the 4. He would be much better than trying to shoehorn Benton in there. I hope they can figure out Stefan's issue if that is the case. If not, it will just give all the more reason to let Geno play from day 1 and give Houbaugh a few more minutes. My lineups are with the assumption Geno plays day 1. If he doesn't for whatever reason, then De Rouen become the primary backup point to Hooker and Antwi becomes the primary backup to Tyler. Its going to be fun watching this team this year and see who will step up and lead. Basketball starts in about a month and I cannot wait
  17. Sooo... What was the point of UMKC moving to the WAC if they were just going to go back to summit.
  18. Despite the granted elibility of De Rouen (which is for 2 years) I am still sticking with the lineup of PG: Hooker SG: Tyler SF: Stefan PF: Nash C: Calc I like to have Geno as my backup to Hooker, he can play a little 2 as well. De Rouen and Antwi can back up Tyler at the 2. You can make a case for Coleman starting instead of Stefan but I like that I can get him to play multiple places on the floor (including at the 4, which I think he can do). Have Salmonson be a backup for either Nash or Calc. Houbaugh can slide in at the 3 if need be and Benton can go in the 2,3,4 spot for minutes if necessary. When Shanks gets eligible PG: Hooker SG: Tyler SF: Stefan PF: Nash C: Shanks Same reasoning, but now Calc and Salmonson can switch between 4 and 5. We won't know a whole heck of a lot until one or us either hears something about how they are doing or until they have that scrimmage again. I dug through last seasons threats and found the open scrimmage was Oct 19th of last year. So perhaps it will be around that time again this year.
  19. Oh what would have been if The NCAA had a brain and let Nash play when Huff and company were juniors AND Seniors Traylor had been able to stay eligible his junior year Brekke never took that elbow I think they could have put a few better banners up if those things wouldn't have happened. * * sigh
  20. I also agree that our next 2 should go to getting our 4's and 5's established. I would like to see them grab not only a PF, but either grab a hybrid PF/C or take a chance on a project Center. We have the looks of another very deep backcourt, lets see if we can get some balance to it as well.
  21. I'm going to guess we started with 5.... so 2 left I think?
