  1. That is Steve Johnson's future job. The rumor on the street, and I say rumor, is the reason he was let go had more to do with personal issues. The story is that Hak fired him because of the affair that Eades was having. This does come from a good source and that supposedly was the reason that Mankato did not hire him. One person nobody has mentioned is BRAD BOMBARDIR director of player development with the Wild. NHL defenseman and an all around nice guy. Think about a guy with his knowledge and experiance recruiting your kid and then having him coach your kid? Furthermore, former roomate of Hakstol, Dixon Ward, and Chad Johnson when they all played here.
  2. Would this not be a good thing to keep the sticks down and the traps shut?
  3. Are you that sure he doesn't meet Scott Hennen there?
  4. Thank you that's what I thought. Formerly of Grand Forks, Coon Rapids (mom). and Fort Frances, Ontario (dad). You should have said Thomas Perry since that is his name, Craig is his middle name.
  5. Somewhat shows his lack of convictions then.
  6. Dumb question here for the trivia experts here. Who have been some of the players that everyone would recognize that played for the NTDP? I don't know that is why I am asking.
  7. Hopefully he is a much better player than his dad. The only reason Matt even got to play here was because his dad is Reg. Sorry I am being harsh but I remember when Matt played here and he really was not even a fourth liner. As for that Chase Perry listed on that list of Minnesota kids I wonder if his dad is Thomas Craig Perry?
  8. I wonder why Paul Ryan has now denounced her?
  9. Are we going into the Siouxmer Doldrums? The time period where there is not enough action to keep the comment sails filled?
  10. Here is another thought on midgets. I wonder if some of the kids that would chose to play midgets are really missed by their old team? Better way to put it would be are those parents missed?
  11. Testing peoples eye sight are we?
  12. Try and find it on the Bismarck Tribune site since the Herald of the Forum will want to charge you for it, greedy buggers. Only a short AP at the Bismarck Tribune. http://bismarcktribune.com/news/state-and-regional/spirit-lake-members-suing-ncaa-over-fighting-sioux-logo/article_21a2086a-04a6-11e1-97ec-001cc4c002e0.html
  13. Only time will tell. Those kids you mention would get their exposure in juniors anyhow. The USHL coaches will find them without any publicity. Did you know that less than 1% of Minnesota high school hockey players ever play D1. The parents that would shell out this kind of money that it would take to play here would be better to use that money as a college fund. It would be cheaper than trying to buy bragging rights that your kid got a D1 scholarship.
  14. As I said before if they come from outside the area either a parent has to move with them ot they would need a legal guardian to attend school here. I think the plan is to bring kids from outside the area ala Shattuck and make a allstar team to compete in Canada. I would not be surprised to Canadians come down even.
  15. Now I see your point. You are probably right between those schools you listed you could get 20 players. My point though with the juniors was in relation to having an advantage of having the team in the backyard of UND. I do not think it really would be an advantage at all. The question is not the desire of the players but how many parents could really afford to send their kids?
  16. I am having a hard time even figuring out what your argument is. For one thing it is less than a 3 hour drive (mapquest says 2:45). Do you really believe there would be enough kids in driving distance to make the trip 3 or 4 times a week?
  17. Exactly my point, thank you.
  18. Minor pro teams never work out in Grand Forks. For an AHL team to make it they would need to sell at least 5,000 tickets a game. An ECHL team at least 3,000 a game which would never happen in Grand forks. Look at the populations of cities where the AHL plays. All twice as large or larger than the entire state of North Dakota. ECHL teams pretty much play in larger towns also.
  19. I know that it is different but only if the kids live in Grand Forks. If a kid moves to Grand Forks they would have to have a legal guardian to attend GF schools or the parent(s) would have to move also if from out of state.
  20. What about the Alexandria Blizzard, Austin (can't think of the team name), old Rochester Mustangs (USHL), or the St.Paul Vulcans (aka Twin Cities Vulcans (USHL) that played at the Augsburg Arena? All were, or are, in Minnesota's backyard along with Duluth and St. Cloud so no advantage for UND recruiting.
  21. Grand Forks could not support an AHL team much less alone an ECHL team.
  22. But at the same time would not some of the best players from around the state come to play leaving their home teams down equalling the field across the state? I think you could include the 320 area code also.
  23. What scares me is the way North Dakotans have acted in the past. Past actions could carry the keep the name vote.
