Actually Steve Johnson made more at Lincoln than Eades makes here. I would bet that Chad Johnson makes more than Eades. Lincoln makes more money than the entire UND Athletic Department does. Before UND moved to the new arena Lincoln took in more money at the gate than UND. Lincoln's gate is over 40K a game.

And all the other sports eat it up leaving a very small net profit. It was not that long ago that the athletic department was seriously in the red.

That is not empirical evidence. Please try citing a source with fact.

List the schools where it is profitable please. Then you can list all the profitable football programs next.

And what has it done for Gonzaga or NDSU? Explain how destroying the athletic department would hurt UND? Not random statements but empirical evidence. Will the university lose grant funding? Will the university lose students or potential students? Will profesors not be published?

Spin around all you want but all of you were DaveKs and Fetchs not that long ago. Yes I would say Hak et al flip-flopped like a fish that jumped out of the tank. It is not going to drag the unversity down, just the sports. Would that really be such a major loss? Look at Minnesota and their lousy sport teams, and scandals, and the university lives on.

After seeing all the hypocricy here being posted I just shake my head. Does picking on DaveK and Fetch make all of you feel better about your major flip-flop? All of you were die-hard never let the moniker go crowd at one time, and even used some of DaveK and Fetch's arguements yourself.

If I remember right reading in the MSP Tribune his family has never moved with him though. It would be nice to see him get the job. Good for us keeping Eades and bad for the whistling pigs (aka Gophers) to lose him.

I think one thing we are forgetting here is that there are only so many spots available in college hockey. Has anyone ever heard someone making it to the NHL from a Canadian University?

Would someone explain to me how playing against a bunch of boys or guys under 20 would develope a player better than playing against 18-24 year olds? The SPHL (Southern Proffesional Hockey League), ECHL, CHL (Central Hockey League), Canadian University Hockey, and the AHL are full of guys who went the major junior route at 16-17. Did wonders for them.

According to that College Sports website only 18 underclassmen signed out of over a 100 signees.

Of course he could sign and not leave until fall. I was refering to leaving now to finish the season out with whomever. I would bet he did not sign and leave because no one wanted to sign him. Simply no one thought he could help them.

If Dell left now he could take incompletes.

The threat is not to the university as much as it is to the sport teams. Question then is if there was no football team, basketball (men/women), softball, swimming, golf, (is there still tennis?), baseball, soccer, track, etc. would it really matter? How long would it take before everyone forgets all about them? A university is not a sports team.

Yeah like Kittson, LOW, Park Rapids, Bagley, etc.... Who are the competitive teams they play?

Why not play a year or two of USHL and keep the options open instead of slamming the door shut? Fine Crookston hockey is a joke but there are other avenues than going to the W.

I am not convinced that there is really that much difference between the people that say it is about the school as a whole or if they really are only interested in the Athletic Department. At least Fletch and DaveK are being honest about their motivations.
