  1. Yale is irrelevant since they just got hot late and rolled with it. They weren't that great all year long. 17th is not good considering there aren't 100+ d1 hockey teams.
  2. I think it's a good thing that Robertson didn't get much action today. It means that the wr position is at the point where it takes more than talent to get a major role. It will make him work harder and the team better in the long run. He'll keep busting his ass and once he learns the play book he'll be a huge factor.
  3. He looked good and quick and faster than last year. His problem issuing enough guys miss and being able to outrun the last man since he doesn't break tackles. I'd take Shaugabay over him right now though. No question.
  4. Outside mostly. Put the db on an island. He made some really nice moves with the ball from the slot also. Hardin as very limited reps like he should since he has nothing to prove. He did look a step quicker and my explosive though. A little thicker as well.
  5. I just realized I forgot to mention how good Shaugabay looked. Give that man the ball.
  6. So many variables. It could be, mostly because last years offense didn't reach their potential because of the injury to Hanson. If the oline is up to snuff I think I could be. Mostly because of Golladay. He made my jaw drop today and he's only going to get better stronger and faster. If sparks emerges or they feed the beast that Shaugs is they will be very formidable.
  7. I'm kind of pulling for Bartels since he's the underdog but in the end I think it will be Mollberg and his mobility and more consistent and tighter mechanics that will prevail. Either way we are set for the next 4 years at qb which is a luxury.
  8. I though the spring game was great. No stupid fan participation crap like a few years ago. Guys weren't afraid to hit each other. Defense was playing fast and physical. Overall I thought it was a great showcase of the offense for the most part. The defense had some flashes but will need more time to gel and break in some young guys. Encouraging signs from both sides today. Golladay was a man amongst boys out there. He should be in the FBS, what a steal. He's so much stronger and faster than last fall. After this summer he will be even faster and stronger. The sky is the limit for him. I thought it was awesome that Hardin was hardly noticeable other than his dropped pass. The other WR shined today. Bridges made plays and is so elusive. He also showed his track speed on that 50 yard bomb when he outran everyone. Townsend is such a possession beast and has some strong mitts. Jackson is such a beast and gets so much YAC. Golladay was obviously untouchable. There were even Brown Fletcher and Young sightings today. This WR is special. QBs had their moments. Bartels throw to Jackson was an NFL throw, absolutely perfect. He also badly under threw Hardin with that duck down the middle that was dropped. Mollberg showed some nice wheels along with his impressive arm. Throws a little like Freund did when he played, but with a stronger arm and bigger frame. Both of these guys showed the tools to start and the mistakes of freshman today. Poor Jake Hanson just isn't a D1 QB but it was nice to see him with that perfect strike over the top to Bridges to make up for his mistakes today. The D line got some pressure on the QBs with the makeshift line in front of them which was good to see but needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I liked the overall energy of the defense though. Kotelnicki is injecting his passion for the game into these kids and it is going to pay immediate dividends. The fire that was missing last year may be on its way back thanks to him. The D looked faster as well. unfortunately we didn't get to see Edwards Woodsmall or Labat but the rest of the young guys made some good plays. I liked what I saw but we still need alot more out of the D by next fall. Today was a nice step in the right direction at the very least.
  9. I thought he was below par to start he season then about midway through something clicked and he played more physical and trusted his hands and skating ability again. Put 20 pounds on him this summer and he'll be pretty damn good. O And he's got a great shot.
  10. We could end up with a stacked deck at qb ala ndsu in the next couple years. From a liability to a strength just like wr. Hopefully out d follows suit with that.
  11. Even jake Hanson is taller and so much stronger and more athletic.
  12. Who would have the 2-5 d in the nation then?
  13. Looking like him like he was standing on a New York City phone book with a stronger arm and 50 extra pounds?
  14. Just watched the promo for the spring game and it made me realize how much we will miss Hanson and Hendrickson at qb. I hope that whoever wins the job can have a little of Hansons poise in the pocket.
  15. Isn't Ausmus already the strongest physically of the thee? And wouldn't that make him fill our biggest need on defense as we lose McWilliam? I think this crop of d will be awesome but Ausmus might bring what we need most physically.
  16. Maybe Rocco needs a Coffey curve on his stick to turn those posts into goals
  17. I can't wait to see all of them. They could be the foundation that the super talented group of forwards coming in the future can lean on.
  18. Never have I said mussman has been stellar. I have, however, been realistic with the situation he was handed. I recognized that he had multiple decks stacked against him and he was a first time head coach. I disagreed with that call but I understood it in theory much like that call a few yeras ago by Bellichick with the patriots at the colts going for it on 4th and one with a lead in their own end. Sometimes coaches out coach themselves. And some times coaches just aren't good.
  19. O you were one too? Good for you. I was just responding to someone trying to call me out.
  20. His being a decent guy has nothing to do with his coaching ability.
  21. Funny how a coach like Bina has so much more support on this board than Hakstol. One word about the guy not being a good coach and people come out of the wood work to defend his immense coaching prowess.
  22. Well good. I'm glad that got you to your senses.
  23. How bout you ask a guy like Dennis Johnson what he thinks about Bina as a coach. I graduated from Central but didn't have enough spirit to try out for the cheer team. I was also too busy being a 4 sport athlete.
  24. A kind of funny thought just popped into my head. Obviously ndsu has missed out on some prime years to kick some Und ass in football while Und recovers from the transition and other stuff. Just think how pissed all those bison fans and former players will be if when we do play again Und wins. There will be cries about how they would've beaten us the last 10 games for sure. In the whole not scheduling Und situation the real loser is ndsu because next time we play they will most likely but on a slight downswing while Und will be on the upswing for the next 5 years.
  25. They probably actually get Root in Portland. Not that many people from there will be watching.
