Pretty similar if you ask me. I understand the difference of the two sports but they can each be decided by one play/bounce.
Some of the quotes from defensive players and coaches are rather alarming to me. It suggests that under Mannausau (great player and great guy all around) was not up to par as a defensive coordinator and didn't demand the level of excellence that is needed to be successful especially against such potent offenses as the teams in the Big Sky. It also speaks to the quality of Kotelnicki. This guy is a stud. He is intesnse. He does not sleep on his laurels. He's not afraid to call people out and push them towards greatness. He is the real deal and I hope we can keep him around for a while because I think he is going to be a special coach.
I'm officially going through football withdrawals. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to a practice or two or maybe Teeder will be able to provide us with some analysis. I can't wait 4 more weeks for a game.... another Opening Drive season would be awesome.
Sitting out for academics and being academically ineligible are two different things. I would bet that they didn't do well enough last spring in class and needed to make it up in the summer and may be waiting in grades to be cleared. If they were academically ineligible it would have been specified.
My point isn't that full D1 championships aren't harder or a bigger deal. My point is that fcs football championships are a big deal too. I know that bcs football is the highest level but UND probably won't be a big enough school to ever sustain a bcs level football program so dogging fcs is just plain silly.
Mussman had hinted that he could step in right away outside the tackles and block and even catch passes. Long term he's a LT. I feel like that number of his is a dead give away of their intentions to pull his shirt. Also Meindel is obviously already getting his shirt pulled.
The loss of Taylor Grant is going to have a huge impact on special teams of someone else can't fill his role in snapping. He was excellent last season.
Cole Reyes, Brandon Miller, AJ Stockwell, Marcus Cheatom, Mitch Meindel, and Kyle Norberg, are my candidates without seeing a practice or hearing anything.
