The SDSU game will have great attendance. If Montana doesn't suck next year that game will be close to a sellout with how entertaining last years game was. The opener always has good numbes and with a new fr qb starting the fans are going to want to see the face of the program for the 4 years and see what all the hype was about. If we win those first three then attendance for Montana St should be huge. Not saying we will win that game but we'll have a better chance than last year and if we do the ball will be officially rolling and we will go to Idaho and whoop Idaho St. But that's the ideal start.... Attendance would be fixed though

Shoulda worked harder than the soph goalie. I hate when people think just because they've been somewhere that they deserve things like playing time on a highschool team for a senior. If the soph was better than the senior didn't work hard enough to be better end of story.

RJ is a 4th year senior. Mussman sounded pretty excited about Robertson which in coach speak terms means he thinks he's gonna step right in and be a big factor.

The Ralph is not good for basketball. Having the court in one end would be better but not as good as an upgraded Betty. Maybe in 25 years the basketball team will be a different animal and sell out the Ralph. The alerus is god awful for basketball. Worst place I've ever played in. Nothing good about it. Get a scoreboard in the Betty somehow and eventually upgrade the seating and that place could be as formidable to opponents as a packed Huslop once was. They need to win some games first though and get more butts in seats before the seating would need to be addressed.

That's why they pay creative architects to design a score board that has tilted screens to be easily viewed by most everyone and has little screens underneath for players coaches and people in the first few rows to view like the staples center in LA

Luckily ICON architects are some of the best in the biz when it comes to video boards. Call em up and get it done.......... along with the IPF...

Offering things like free food is pathetic and devalues the product on the court. If you send the message to students that the basketball team is so bad that you're willing to give them free stuff just to attend the game then you are only making the perception worse. Offer a good entertaining competitive product on the court and fans will be interested on their own. You can't buy love... attendance.

I'm talking permanent seating that retracts the first 10 or so rows like the rest of the seating is there. You could still have concessions underneath.

How about some legit seating at each end? The Betty looks like a joke right now with only legit seating at the side and not the ends. TIme to step it up and invest in basketball and football.

That'll happen when you max out your bonuses. Who pays their coaches the most though? I wouldn't be surprised to see the top ten in pay be perennial playoff teams.

How much are the upper echelon programs paying their football coaches? Where does Bohl rank in base salary?

Bad qb play bad defense we both have reasons for why we lost games.

So next year we need to not go 3-8 and not have players arrested from a Best Buy theft ring and not have players kicked of the team for drug related Facebook content and we'll be ahead of the game.

They went 6-5 first year in the MVFC in 2008 and 3-8 in 2009 with wins against Wagner College a terrible Ind St and Western Ill. By my count 2008 was their first year of eligibility since 2004 was their first of the transition.

You have no idea how crippling that whole debacle was to football in particular. Scheduling recruiting finding a legit conference home fund raising literally every aspect of the football program took a hit at a very vulnerable time. That is why last season should be considered as about the first by which he should be measured.

I second that and know it for a fact.

The reason I bring it up is because its more than valid. They kicked ass for a while in their transition then when they got to a legit conference they couldn't handle it depth wise until year three at which they made the playoffs and the rest is history. Next year is our equivalent to their 3-8 season and we should compare ourselves to them that year if we are going to be realistic. Remember after that season they were calling for his head in Fargo, had they fired him too hastily do you think they'd be where they are now? Am I a mussman apologist or just someone that chooses to look at the big picture. He is finally free of the nickname and all the negativity that brought the program which was a massive disadvantage. 5-6 doesn't cut it, but I'm not about to call for his head until I see the next two years now that he has minimal negative externalities affecting his ability to build a successful program.

Two years from now. Not next season or the one after but the one after that.

The problem is next year is the equivalent of ndsu's 3-8 year. They have done quite well in the three years after. With a freshman qb I think the next three years are how we should measure his ability to build/coach this program.

Maybe it should just be who do you think will make an impact next year that didn't last year. I've realized there are too many options. Defense. Edwards obviously. Labat. Reyes. Dwayne Brown. Carrothers. Offense. JJ Robertson. Sparks. Shea Walker at center. A tight end, Grant? Adler at fb unless he's moved to te. I honestly think we could have 3 wrs with at least 750 yards next season. I'm expecting big things from the offense and for a defensive renaissance.
