One interesting thing from his interview with the 360 guys is he references when they got to Washington they were told they would need to release a large number of the players as they were not good enough. He has back to back road playoff wins this year. Don’t know much about him, but a guy that can win on the road and in the playoffs sound like a step in the right direction.

The nice thing about going over the line back in the day is we would kill the Penalty off. Seems like our Penalty kill has been horrible and can't afford to take the liberty's we used to. No team wanted to go hard to the net because they knew they would have to pay the price.

One of the most frustrating things this year is the schedule set up well to have a good season. 7 of the 12 games at home. Host 2 of the 3 other Dakota teams at home. Front load the schedule with Home games to build confidence and play 2 of the toughest home games at the end of the year when we should have been on a roll. We should have been 8-3 going into this weekend with a chance to get a first round bye with a win.

I believe he had 2 years left on his contact so I believe the extension should have waited 1 more year. I could have bought the extension if there was one year left and wanted to give him a chance to recruit with new facilities in place. I would still have disagreed with the extension, however I could have seen the reasoning.

To be fair he took the program from 3 wins, to 5 wins, to 7 wins than 9 wins and a share of the Big Sky championship. After that it has been pretty stagnant. Now regressing.

.500 Record is neither winning or Losing. Right in the middle. Win Last 2 games they are a winning program this year. Lose both they are a losing program. Losing the last 2 is not going to do anything to change the HC for next year and probably the year after. Mind as will win the last 2 and if we missing the playoffs at least the players will have a good feeling going into the offseason.

As a UND fan a win is always the preferred outcome. Like it or not Bubba is not going anywhere after this year. While I don't like where the program is at right now and wish Bubba was not given an extension last year, way more damage is done by the team finishing the season on a 5 game losing streak. Losing organizations get used to losing and winning organization get used to winning. It is not like Pro sports when you get a higher draft pick. Losing leads to poor recruiting classes and good players leaving. I'll be rooting for UND to win the last 2 weeks and hope corrections are made in the offseason. i.e. get rid of Chaves and replace the DC.
