Just checked USCHO and see that we are -6 (outscored 33-27) in the 3rd this year and have been outshot in the 3rd 341-292. Not sure how that compares to prior years, but I feel like we were usually a strong 3rd period team in the past. Edit: I figured it out on USCHO now. Here are the stats for the 3rd period in case anyone else is interested. 2012-13 EVEN 2011-12 +13 (Eades' last year) 2010-11 +30 2009-10 +18 2008-09 +12 2007-08 +14 2006-07 +7 2005-06 +17 2004-05 +14 (Hakstol's 1st year) 2003-04 +45 Our goals by period this year are 32 in the 1st (+7), 45 in the 2nd (+17), and 27 in the 3rd (-6). Goals against are 25, 28, and 33, respectively.

Is there a good site to see UND's plus/minus by period for the last several years? It seems to me the Sioux have not been showing up in the 3rd period this year.

Finally. The ACA is certainly causing problems, but to deny that hospitals, insurers, big pharmaceuticals, and certain employers are taking advantage of it is foolish.

Weber wasn't the eventual champion. I agree with you on the rest. As far as last night's game goes, I hope the guys are embarrassed and play with renewed fire in the BSC tourney.

Ah yes, the classic "ask for twice what you really need" approach.

Is this where we discuss the upcoming series against Western Michigan?

Cool story bro

Fan support was just fine in the early and mid 2000s. If the team wins, the people will show up.

Who, at the beginning of the season, would've called Miami AND Denver being in the bottom 3 at this point?!?
-
I guess it's the argument of being hot going into the tournament versus being rested going into the tournament.....

And he's preventing it how?

I wonder how much the increase has to do with Noridian preparing to lose millions on the Maryland ACA website they failed to build.

Although the ACA is a mess, insurers are definitely taking advantage of it. "Hey, we can do whatever we want and if anyone questions the move, we can just blame Obamacare!"

Frozen Four record of 1-5. I didn't say I don't think Hakstol can get it done, but he hasn't gotten it done to this point. I believe he will get one eventually and he puts a solid team on the ice each year, thus, I'm not in the fire Hak group. Just because I don't think he should be fired doesn't mean I agree with the garbage spewed by those who believe Hak can do no wrong. The participation banners are for those 13 wins SJ was touting. If he's going to tout 13 tournament wins and a 1-5 Frozen Four record and act like it's something to be admired, then we should have participation banners to show our appreciation for those 13 wins. Perhaps the banners can note that we won 1-2 tourney games each of those years. You deflect by pointing out not everyone has an issue with Hak's teams when it's quite obvious who I was talking about when I said "everyone" (everyone on the "fire hak" wagon). The success of Hak compared to every other coach really depends on how success is measured. I was under the impression success at UND was measured in championships.

I'm not in the "fire Hak" group, but none of what you write addresses everyone's issue with Hak's teams..... I'll get to work on ordering those participation banners.

I'm not going to argue, I only know about how they (West Fargo and Minot) played in the few games I watched. They may have been the 'B' teams for all I know though.
