  1. Just smile, nod, and change the subject..... What are everyone's thoughts on Nick Schmaltz? Risk of CHL? Jordan is very much improved this year. Is he going to stick around another year to play with him?
  2. That's a pretty big assumption to say that is how he thinks. Probably best to treat this like a family gathering and just keep the religion/atheism out of the discussion or it can get ugly/uncomfortable.
  3. AHL would certainly open up a spot for him if he did choose to leave early. NHL teams don't allow 2nd round picks to sit around in the ECHL without at least first failing in the AHL.
  4. Agreed. This recruiting class may end up being a small one, and I don't blame the coaches if it is. That may make next year's recruits the first big class. They'd be redshirting in Bubba Year 2 and freshmen in Bubba Year 3. So it may take a while.
  5. Anyone know the reasoning/potential cause of his denial at UMinn?
  6. Prpich was the worst (although he occasionally backed up his talk) and we were all fans of his for it. Had he played for anybody else we would've despised him. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I hate Rau, but he'd be my favorite current player if he was wearing the Kelley green.
  7. The Kristo vs Miller comparison doesn't really have any bearing on anything. Some players simply aren't as talented as others.
  8. The Gophers (Rau in particular) are obvious classless, but that doesn't make me any less embarrassed for my alma mater with Finley and Blood starting fights in the handshake line. Some things you just need to rise above.
  9. Ah, thought it occurred after those. Even so, it wasn't long enough, IMO.
  10. I also like his game, but missing 2 games in Canadia is hardly a punishment.
  11. Really? That, IMO, is too soon, regardless of the dollar amount.
  12. I disagree. We've got small, skilled players attempting to play in a "gritty" system. We all know the results. Check the roster and look at where they are all drafted. They didn't get drafted for lack of skill.
  13. It may be time for Hak to ditch the gopher philosophy of recruiting "pre-madonnas" and go back to the UND roots of getting hard-working, blue collar players. How many draft picks did Yale have on their team last year?
  14. No, but UND was located in Fargo that year.
  15. Any chance this is actually Bubba's first move?
  16. Huh, as soon as he gets an opportunity to play he decides to leave. Seems odd. Saw he had a kid and got engaged, perhaps that played a role. Well hopefully Sharp sticks around.
  17. The impending doom of the Fighting Sioux name helped sales too.
  18. Has the whole ordeal broken him mentally or is he just not the right guy for what we're trying to do?
