BS. If Faison had a guy in mind who has already applied, he would've been in contact with the HR department and ensured his application was one of the apps forwarded to him. He also would've stressed that time was very limited and the HR department would've been filtering through the apps prior to the final date so they'd be ready to pass them on when the time came. From what we've been told, this results in 9 names being forwarded to Faison. Faison conducts phone interviews with applicants 1-8. The phone interviews consist of "Hey, this is Brian Faison of UND, do you have a few minutes to talk about your application? Ok, sell me on yourself. (2 minutes later) Ok applicant #3, thank you for your interest in the HC position, we'll be in touch." Faison then moves onto the next coach, goes through the same process (taking 5 minutes) and then informs HR to send out the rejection letters. Unless he has a coach lined up who hasn't applied yet and has reason to withhold his app for a few more days/a week, there is no reason the process needed to extend beyond December 11th (other than the background check, but a hire pending the background check certainly could've been made).

Haha no, just saying that's gfhockey's hangout. Coldest beer in town!

Well unless she's writing her own reviews, this appears true at least. http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=1331327 Some workplaces can be so childish and vindictive, although it is poor form on her part to not show up for team meetings (but for all I know, she may have only missed one and had a good reason for it).

What research, exactly, does a French (language) professor do? Also, where does the money come from for said research?

I don't think so, he'll be at Judy's with his good old boys.

He get permanently banned now or is he just on a 7-day shift out on the rigs?

The school and program can only do so much for recruiting. The ability of coaches to sell themselves to the players is more important than the offers of playing time and facilities. And let's be honest, most of these guys don't care about the academic programs.

IMO, Pflugrad is the only applicant which would fit that description. What would DeBoer's pitch be to potential FBS drop-downs? "Hey when I was HC at NAIA Sioux Falls, we beat an awful Muss-coached UND team..... so I'm pretty good." What would Bubba's pitch be? "I won a D2 championship as a DC over a decade ago and then went .500 as HC with a team that the next coach immediately won a championship with....... so come play for me and I'll make you the best you can be."

Ranking the Basketball Arenas of the Big Sky - UND Ranked 3rd

Unfortunately, it's tough to take that list seriously when they have Sac St at #5 with their high school gym. http://www.stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/the-nest-at-colberg-court-s825/images -
Fading Memory...or North Dakota Media Guide Incorrect?
UNDBIZ replied to MafiaMan's topic in Men's Hockey
The end of that game was awesome and I think a majority of the "fans" missed it. -
Yes, Bubba also spent a decade as a D2 position coach prior to taking over as DC. FYP

If Faison ends up hiring DeBoer or Bubba or anyone else who has already applied after dragging his feet an extra 2 weeks and losing some of our most talented players I'm gonna be pissed. I won't be angry about one of them being hired, but I will be angry that, if they're his choice, they weren't hired a long time ago.

At this point, I'm preparing for the worst and assume Carr is next......
-
But he worked his way up. He didn't just jump from NAIA to a big position at an FCS school. If he was brought in as a position coach it's not so bad.

I believe a few posters here alluded to some personal/family issues which played a part in the separation with Eades. I've never heard anything official other than the "restructuring" excuse though.

But UND is 0-1 when DeBoer is in the building......
-
Sorry, I don't follow individual posters to gauge their senses of humor so I'm not able to read most people on here other than the obvious ones like gfhockey. I didn't mean to offend you and perhaps 'stir the pot' was a poor choice of words.

We needed to make sure we scheduled someone that a Mussman-coached team would beat though.......
-
Yeah I really wish this wasn't taking so long. Scares me in terms of both recruitment and retention of players. Hopefully it's because Faison has a great hire lined up who isn't ready to apply and leave his current team yet and not because Faison has no idea what he's doing.
-
UNDVince said this in the next coach of UND thread: Not sure if he was serious or just trying to stir the pot though.

Portland State Football - "must be fiscally self-sufficient"
UNDBIZ replied to The Sicatoka's topic in NCAA News
Exactly. A losing team will just get worse unless it's given a shot in the arm (new coach, better scheduling, more money, etc.). Cutting costs rather than working to increase revenues is how most downward spirals start, just look at Sears, Kmart, Best Buy, JCPenny etc. -
Any truth to the Golladay rumor?
