It's been proven several times that GF is just a UND men's hockey town. Look at the attendance for the U-18 tournament last spring. Look at attendance for the state high school tournament. Men's club hockey is an even better alternative to people that can't afford tickets to the varsity men's games. Student athlete opportunities matter for Title IX and for enrollment, which affects revenue all across campus. Women's swimming and diving generates more revenue than women's hockey.

Sure, it's the best chance, on paper, to win a "tournament" game. And yes, there aren't many games on at that same time, but personally, I've never watched a play-in game before. Also, in the brackets that are filled out by everyone, if they even list the play-in teams that might play the #1 seed, you're listed as a slash with the other play-in team in the real first round, because nobody really cares about those play-in games.

If you don't make the field of 64, did you really even make the tournament? Public perception and potential for exposure say no.

UND beat the best team out of the 3.

When that team goes 2-5 in non-conference play and loses to Northern Arizona, yes.

Reminder that it would've been nice to get those early season wins against North Florida and Wright State. Not $h*tting the bed against ndsu at home, Portland State, and Northern Arizona would've helped as well.

If they win the next 3 games, I'd say it's just about guaranteed.

Meh. A summer of being hangry could do wonders for the current team. Berry will be spending less time partying with a trophy this summer too.

I wrote this back in June, so I'm gonna take credit.

Now that it's @JasonHajdu, it seems obvious to me that it's a personal account. When it was @UNDSID, whether the account was personally his or not, the perception was he was representing UND in a professional capacity. While representing UND, he should not be political. If he wants to post that stuff in his own name, I'm ok with it (still reflects poorly on UND to some extent with his bio ID'ing UND though).
