That was only $120+ million of actual state money though! The state is out to get Grand Forks because it didn't force Bismarck to give its tax incentives to downtown Grand Forks or force Sanford to build a big new hospital in a town that it tried to open a clinic in but was blocked by Altru. Meh. I'll take the conference championships and national exposure in sports with fans.

It's kind of like winning a women's hockey national title. Vast majority of students and alumni at those schools would prefer a football or basketball conference championship.

Hockey will remain behind football and basketball at the MAC schools. It is what it is.
