  1. Might wanna see how the year plays out. For all we know, UND's schedule could end up trash, or it could be amazing. For the record, I dont think any 6-5 team should ever be in. You can do that without ever winning two games in a row. I'd rather give the spot to a team with more wins, even if they arent any good, at least their record isnt hovering around .500 lmao.
  2. They were scheduled last minute because the team Iowa State was going to play made the playoffs.
  3. I have had the opportunity to tailgate Ames and South Bend. I wouldn't call one of them better than the other outside of one of them being on a more scenic campus. I suspect that you likely wouldn't go after someone for claiming South Bend is a great place to tailgate for a football game...unless you are one of the not so subtle anti-Catholic folks. Show me on the doll where Iowa State hurt you?
  4. I saw that...at least have the courtesy to go in an alley or something.
  5. The first couple weeks of the season always result in some big swings in polls as results start coming in. This is such a dumb thing to legitimately be salty about. They went into Iowa State, a team expecting to be a top 25 team in all of college football, and played well enough that at the end of regulation, the game was tied. My guess is Iowa State right now is a lot like Iowa the year NDSU beat them. A pretty solid team that can give really good teams trouble, and can lose to some pretty "blah" teams too. TIL that having good TV numbers is what really matters. That will warm my heart the next time Notre Dame has a garbage season. "We might be terrible, but at least our TV numbers are still lights out!" There are very few programs that will get non-alum/local viewers if they aren't any good. Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas. Maybe a couple others. So yeah, I mean....the vast majority of people are going to watch Alabama vs. LSU, probably because that is typically a big game deep in football country with SEC/National Title implications much moreso than a Iowa State v. Northwestern non-conference game between two teams that just want to be bowl eligible most years.
  6. Yep. Sure. 8-5 P5 team with wins over some top 25 teams are terrible. Not solid. In fact, they were terrible last year. All because some game that got scheduled at the last minute was close in garbage conditions. No one is running around calling them God's gift to football, but they were a solid team. Not great, not bad. Better than most. This is a really stupid hill to die on bud.
  7. They were pretty solid last season. Especially after they got their QB situation figured out.
  8. They took what is supposed to be a good P5 team to 3OT. I'm not a big fan of upping a teams ranking for losing a game, but I understand the thought process. If UND takes NDSU to 3OT next weekend, I expect you'd see a fairly similar jump from them. Early season polls are a joke anyway. The coaches/media should follow the FBS playoff committee and wait until later in the year until people can actually get a feel for who is good this year and who isnt.
  9. ....bottom half of the division? They made the playoffs the last couple years and got a win last year. They arent anything special, but they are not bad.
  10. Carson Wentz's brother played baseball in school, not football.
  11. He has a family!
  12. He took a job at Minnesota. They are probably not going to be some awesome football program. To his credit, they beat Wisconsin badly at Camp Randall last season too. It's also his first P5 job. I'd cut the guy some slack since Minnesota is a very difficult place to win at under the best circumstances. He has a goofy style too though. Certainly doesnt resonate with everyone.
  13. They do that sometimes.
  14. I dont know, having a Nazi benefactor didnt seem to have much of an impact on UND's enrollment. But yeah, really would rather avoid it being advertised that she went to NDSU. Regardless of political opinions, she's a disaster of a person lmaoo
  15. Yale is Yale. Cant imagine the NCAA is ever gonna bust their balls considering their history. Ditto on Harvard. Yeah, NDSU is funding the football stuff at a high level but I dont think its anything outrageous. I'd also venture to say football success is generally pretty well correlated with funding.
  16. Maybe. Who knows. It shouldn't really matter. Oregon should have enough talent to deal with a FCS team. If they don't, that sounds like a failure on their part. NDSU generally makes you do something to beat them. Oregon has the horses to do that. I'd think a few of the upcoming fbs games will test NDSU's defense in a new way relative to the previous ones. Much more wide open out west.
  17. A hand picked team? Isnt every contract they enter into....hand picked?
  18. He got fired from Nebraska because that school thinks it's still 1995 and they are relevant.
  19. I would have expected maximum "buzz" to be the season following the playoff appearance.
  20. "9.399 in attendance, Bob."
  21. Molitor was with the Twins for three seasons. Hit .340 his first season in Minnesota. Not bad for a very old guy.

  24. "Can't wait to get to THE HAWK'S NEST and THE HOUSE THAT RALPH BUILT and THE HOUSE THAT RALPH'S WIFE BUILT to watch some HAWK athletics! Dont forget watching the bizzzzzzun slip and slide!" This is the energy he was looking for.
  25. If you saw the dude with the overly thick neck, I saw his story when it first happened. For once I got to witness something go viral. It's what I imagine the first 6 days of Genesis looked like. Florida Man is life.
