  1. This ain't about Neera. If they use it to harm these people, there could be something to be said there. It says 86% of people fall under MSA designations. Honestly might be good to differentiate the areas better. Anytime Bismarck/New York City share a designation other than "a place in the United States where a number of people live", it probably could be better designated. But if they use it to hurt these communities, you can bet that they'll face a lot of backlash even from many liberal state politicians. Half the game is getting money for your state, and if the perception is Democrat politicians in DC are screwing smaller cities, they'll call up their folks in Washington and remind them that the National party fails if state parties fail.
  2. I am not very tall and can't always reach the top shelf. Thats what the nightstand is for.
  3. Eh....I hope people don't think that way too much. Distance learning is trash compared to in-person.
  4. Even if it is disproportionate that's not inherently bad. Trailblazing works sometimes. Would be bad I suppose if the online learning is growing at on-campus learning's detriment though.
  5. I've typically followed sagarin but thats maybe just out of habit. They all got their system they follow. They can all be goofy early in the year whether they consider last year's results or exclusively the small current sample. Kinda wish college sports would get rid of ranking teams for the first few weeks. Doesnt serve any purpose outside of marketing and bulletin board material.
  6. I'm assuming the concern comes from losing for the first time in a few years....and getting humiliated in the process....and not looking very good last week against a mediocre team. Lot to figure out in North Fargo over the next week or two.
  7. I'm not an expert at all but the offense in general doesn't look very good. Defense is probably better than the score looked, spent an awful lot of time on the field today.
  8. No P5 is going to play NDSU in Minneapolis when they can write a check to get them at their own place. So we can rule them out. (90% of the good fanbases fall in that category). Their fans probably aren't going to go out of their way to see a game against an FCS team anyway. Minnesota, for example, would prefer to play the game at TCF. I'm assuming G5's have little interest in playing what amounts to a road game in Minneapolis either. That leaves FCS teams. Who are the "big" fanbases? - Montana and Montana State - James Madison - Delaware perhaps - UNI and YSU maybe - HBCU's. Of those schools, do you think any of them are remotely interested in Minneapolis other than UNI? Probably not. If its true that they got EWU, then thats pretty good and gives people a reason to go. Much better than Butler. They could always see if UND, SDSU, etc. are chill playing in Minneapolis, but I'm guessing none of them (including NDSU) really want to give up a home game against one of the big names on their schedule. This isn't the P5 where top teams meet up sometimes at Jerryworld or Atlanta or something like that and tens of thousands of fans of both schools show up. Only about 20 FCS teams average 10K at home.
  9. They aren't getting a P5 to play what amounts to a neutral site or potentially a road game in Minneapolis. 0% chance. If they can get an FCS team, that's really all they can ask for.
  10. Nordeast is not good. Be better. Hold yourself accountable.
  11. I would assume Grafton is going to be in a bind as Fargo grows. If Fargo grows, that's more kids playing hockey. Grafton has been shrinking since before most of us have been alive. I like seeing the smaller towns compete with the big boys in any sport. Maybe Grafton will get it sorted out.
  12. A.) I think NDSU has had some fan enthusiasm concerns as well the past couple years. B.) I ain't gonna dump on anyone for bad attendance this year. A big part of attending games in person is the atmosphere and energy. That isn't really attainable when capacity is substantially limited.
  13. The only game worth going to there is RR v. Central.
  14. It may a bit but that's a risk im willing to take
  15. For not knowing what it is you pretty well got it! If you do well and the firm likes you, it can turn into a job after graduation too.
  16. Not sure i ever want to get to active in criminal stuff but I have secured a 2L summer job at a firm in Fargo. Happy to be a step closer to being able to get back to North Dakota after law school.
  17. On Neflix.. Queens Gambit - chess/coming of age stuff. Very good. The English Game - show about early soccer growth among the working class in England. I really enjoyed it. On Amazon.. Generation War - German mini-series a bit like Band of Brothers/The Pacific. Pretty solid.
  18. 1. We must define elite. If that means top 5, then ND is elite. If it means...right there with Alabama, then lol I'm with you lol, because they obviously aren't there right now in the skill position areas. The lines seemed to do their job though which was a welcome sight. 2. Holy hell Ohio State was eye-opening lol. I still don't think they should've gotten in but that's philosophical based on number of games.
  19. I think they did the right thing, i think if they were going to leave ND out they should have went with Cincinatti. If you put ND and A&M's resume next to each other, one is a step above the other's. ND made a few mistakes early in the game and let it get away from them. Seems to be a trend in these high-profile games, ND and Alabama both got run out of the building by Clemson a couple years ago. Clemson got dominated by LSU last year. OU got murdered on live TV by Joe Burrow. ND's offensive line is banged up. Lost their star center in the BC game, his backup was hurt too and the guy who stepped in wasn't healthy either. And another lineman just got back from an appendectomy. Assuming those guys (starting center still out) are closer to 100%, I think they'll be fine. They aren't as good as Clemson or Alabama but they are still very good. Notre Dame doesn't have the skill players those teams have, so they are going to have trouble keeping up if their line is not humming along. They don't get many quick strikes like AL/Clemson do. I have a feeling Alabama and Clemson will both win comfortably. Ohio State could hang around since they have no wear or tear on them this year. It should help ND a lot that the Bama qb does not run the ball but damn...them receivers and that big RB lol. If I'm posting that night, please forgive the spelling errors and confusing syntax as the game goes on...my brain is going to have a lot of alcohol self-prescribed.
  20. Once they had to settle for that field goal attempt I was assuming it'd be a bad day. Once they missed it I told my mom the game was over. You arent going to beat Clemson if you don't make them pay for their mistakes because you know they will make you pay for yours. Had they made the field goal, could have been a different game maybe. But overall a godawful display. I hope they miss the playoff and draw a game with OU or Florida. Really have no desire to go to the playoff only to play Alabama and get run off the field again.
  21. Hopefully the good people of grand forks find an excuse to go over there for food more
  22. Don't look now but Clemson is in a dogfight
