  1. We will see. Like I said, some guys got it in practice. Some have it in games. Some have it in both. I wouldn't go claiming he has both when you haven't ever watched him play.
  2. I'm predicting you are wrong on many levels. Montana and Montana St. are to be respected and used as a benchmark when looking at what your team is accomplishing. What makes you think that the quarterback is capable? A few spring practices? A spring game? At NDSU, we learned our lesson about trusting that back in the Mertens time. Until Bradley, or Hansen or whoever is playing QB plays consistently well against the Big Sky teams, it would be best not to assume anything. I don't expect UND's offense to be a nightmare but it should do fine. I'll have UND get 4th or 5th in the Sky. Montana, Montana St., EWU, and Poly I think will all be in front of them. It should also be noted that UND's secondary couldn't stop a nosebleed last season. In the Big Sky, that could be a problem.
  3. I notice it always seems to be you and a very select few others who claim NDSU fans don't care about UND. I am quite confident that fans of both schools (excluding hockey only fans at UND) care quite a bit. Though that is a discussion for another thread, I just find it very funny you stick to the same argument when it is clear that both fanbases care quite a bit about what is going on with the other school. regardless, I went to the movie today(in Grand Forks even! I steal your women as a hobby) and the movie was not bad. A bit long, the North Dakota reference was a bit funny considering why he mentioned it. I'd recommend anyone with a wife who wants to see the movie to probably just suck it up and go. Jason Segal (I Love You Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, How I Met Your Mother) is a funny guy.
  4. This. I laughed.
  5. I got a chuckle out of the clip. I'd imagine he is referring to the state. However....I often times hear announcers refer to UND as North Dakota (not unlike Texas is really UT-A or Alabama is UA-T). Soo..just maybe he is referring to UND
  6. Not to be a jerk, but i clicked this thread on accident the other day and it took me to page one. Without realizing that I was reading something 6 years old I almost spit out my coffee when a guarantee was made that UND's IPF would be done before NDSU raised the money for the BSA. Seems like at this point they are on about the same level. Wouldn't be shocked one way or the other on which one gets done first.
  7. Until the pen is put to paper, I believe many coaches do it.
  8. I never see them practicing anywhere but outside. So 40 practices a year is equivalent to practicing inside 8 weeks of the season. They do no such thing. I don't see a need for an indoor building to practice. Nothing wrong with practicing outside.
  9. Minnesota also has the money (funny, considering the state) to be more selective than the schools around here do. It could also be that TCF was willing to give either more money, or fewer terms to meet to get the money. Say TCF gave them X amount of dollars and favorable terms. Say Sanford gave them 1.25-1.50 X dollars compared to TCF but less favorable terms....take that TCF money and don't look back in my opinion.
  10. I, as a Bison fan, like the idea. A.) For me, its closer to Fargo!. But most importantly, B.) They are making an effort to capture the Sioux Falls market. If it works for them, great. If it doesn't, they are no worse off than they were before.
  11. Sanford is the big cheese up here now. I'd presume the terms were worth it. Sanford gets their name on a building, gets rid of some cash they weren't going to get to keep anyway. NDSU gets money that they could use. I'm sure UND will find a nice situation and/or source of income relating to a similar situation as well.
  12. Sanford is non-profit. I don't know how they could really make the other Dakota schools pay for the money they gave them? They have to donate a ton of money or give free medical service to people. They chose to donate. Ignorance pleaded as well
  13. I watched all but the first 5 minutes of the game. As a Flyers fan, I am biased, I am also no great hockey mind, so others can feel free to correct me. I didn't notice the Flyers doing anything bad. Schenn(I think him?) lit a dude up. Asham cross checked him in the throat. And punched him in the head while he layed on the ice. Not ok. For the first time ever, I will not put the blame on my Flyers for a chippy game other than that it is their fault Crosby and Friends were in such a bad mood to begin with.
  14. Heard Hossa still isn't moving in the hospital.
  15. I've said it before. Go for it. It wouldn't really hurt anyone. UND and NDSU aren't going to be hosting many NCAA or Conference tournements (that is what the sanction is on Miss. and SoCar). Playoff games earned by merit still are awarded. An example being Wofford (in South Carolina) has hosted playoff games since that policy was put in place.
  16. Not inciting anything. Have I before? Yes. This thread, and the case he pointed to, no. No purpose to incite people. Gave my reasons as to why I will be voting "No," and what the UND fans/alumni I deal with have been saying they want.
  17. 3 periods of it.
  18. ...sounds like you, Sir, when your post is countered with an honest opinion in which your points (some of which cannot be proven regardless) are countered with what the other person perceives to be a troll. You brought up no facts. My original post you decided to claim was "trollish" was just experiences I have had with many UND fans and alumni. According to Urban Dictionary..the definition of troll is as follows. "One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument." Just because the message someone brings to you is a message you are not a fan of, does not by any means make them a troll.
  19. I'm going to compare him to Lindros....Except Lindros had real injuries if I recall. Very different now than just a few years ago when everyone loved watching them.
  20. They showed Crosby's face about 10 times in the last 5-10 minutes. You could see the total shock and awe. Love it. I wouldn't mind seeing the Flyers take it in 4. Win Game 4 by.... 4-0. And then see the look on Crosby's face. I have lost a ton of respect for him in the past couple of years. It is at the point where I smile everytime I see him lose. He could lose to his Grandpa at checkers and I'd be pumped up.
  21. As a fellow Blue Jay (raised there), I can vouch that Jamestown doesn't have any talent. What was the name of the kid who left?
  22. Very possible, but the SBoHE and NDSU haven't every been very good friends anyway, I can't imagine* Carlson doing anything too terrible to NDSU in comparison to what has already went on here in Fargo. Besides, I think after people see what Big Al does to UND, Carlson gets voted out. *Just because I can't imagine it, doesn't mean it can't/wont happen.
  23. Wanting a team to fail doesn't mean you are a troll. I do not puff my chest about my team on here a whole lot. I comment on the issues I do understand, and ask questions about the ones I do not. I have a solid knowledge of UND athletics history, in fact probably better than most of my UND fan friends. The presence of a non-UND fan does not make them a troll. I started out as a troll, I've eased up on you guys quite a bit. Few friends? I don't know how you would have any idea how many friends I have, but thats nice. Lack of common sense? There are people on here who think sanctions won't impact UND. That sir, is a lack of common sense. Not pointing out the experiences that I have witnessed with friends/family (ND Residents of voting age) who are UND fans and what they think about the nickname. I'm going to guess you'll have to call 55-60% of voting North Dakotan's in June trolls then. At least I'm voting "No" for logical/comical reasons....and to make some relatives happy. You got PLENTY of UND fans voting yes because they actually think it is a good thing for UND athletics. At least you can discuss with this "troll" about the implications of what the Nickname-Crowd wants. You can't have a conversation with them about it, because you will be on two different pages. Why would it matter what Grand Forks county wants? People outside of Grand Forks go to UND games too I'd imagine sometimes. The NCAA is going after one school, and one only.
  24. It is a big sample size. North Dakota people are foolish and stubborn. Obviously people on here are going to be smarter than that, but how many members of SS.com are from North Dakota and will vote? The people I've dealt with are your typical people who watch the games on TV a good chunk of the time, go to a couple games a year if they can, etc. Not everyone is going to be like the people I've talked about it with, but remember, most people do not watch sports regularly enough to care to look into the details. To a lot of people it will be as simple as, "Should UND keep its name? Sure! Why not?!"
  25. Trolling is making an effort to upset you. I am just giving my opinion/experience in dealing with a lot of people who are Sioux fans who have told me their opinions. Hardly trolling there bro.
