  1. In fairness to gfhockey, a lot of people get Dustin and Derrick mixed up. 2000 was a long time ago.
  2. No, you are thinking of Dustin, not Derrick. I believe they are cousins. I looked up Derrick, his career went nowhere.
  3. This is the same bush-league move Derrick Byfuglien (Freshman D-Man from Roseau) pulled on us in 2000. Six games into his freshman season, he went whining and crying to Major Junior, complaining about lack of playing time. He also described himself as a "business man" making a "business decision". Well son, your career didn't amount to much, did it? Maybe if you had stuck around for two or three years, you might have developed into a solid defenseman. But no, you picked up your toys and went Major Junior. Just like Mr. Tambellini. And, like with Mr. Byfuglien, I won't feel sorry for Mr. Tambellini if it doesn't work out for him. Goodbye and don't let your butt hit the door on the way out.
  4. I am getting really sick and tired of the whole "You can't blame the kid for doing what he wants, when he wants" mentality. I am sorry, but I can (and will) blame this kid for: 1) bailing out on his teammates mid-season and, 2) quitting because the going got tough individually and/or the team wasn't winning This is the same bush-league move Derrick Byfuglien (Freshman D-Man from Roseau) pulled on us in 2000. 5. Please don't feed this troll, we are giving him what he wants.
  6. Yeah, I think you are right. I mean, Roger Thomas found that out the hard way when he took over in 1986 and wasn't able to accomplish anything of merit.....oh wait, he DID, didn't he? This whole "NDSU is great and will be great forever, which means we are screwed forever" mentality needs to stop. Thank God Bubba doesn't think like that!
  7. Based on your negative attitude, we should just drop the program. Of course, it's possible you are a Bisonville troll in disguise here to cause trouble. If that is the case, get lost and don't let your butt hit the door on the way out!
  8. Everything is acceptable at FU as long as you win. Whiskey Joe's legacy lives on even after he hightailed it out of the state. All of these people will get theirs in due time. Any talk you hear about a four-peat is pure wishful thinking. I will remember all of these insults and cheap-shots and I will gladly shove it in their faces when the time is right.
  9. A split at home against this sorry outfit means this..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oSFYxDGKy8
  10. You make good points about some people backing Muss no matter what happened on the field; I also got tired of that. But let's give Bubba Ball a chance to work. Believe me, if things go down the same path it did under Mussman, I'll be on here with you calling for heads. But I just don't think it will come to that.
  11. I was never a big fan of Hedberg as Offensive Coordinator in Grand Forks in the 1990's, but he did have success at St. Cloud as head coach. Hedberg's move to FU is proof that the wheels are coming off of Lennon's regime at SIU.
  12. You are forgetting that they built all new facilities after they hired Lennon (not just a new stadium). That is probably why people are restless at SIU; people can't understand why the success didn't immediately follow. I think over time, they will have more success, but not if they change regimes every couple of years.
  13. Digger Anderson? What is he doing now?
  14. Well, if that is what it takes, then that is what should happen. I think the FB alums with serious cash will gladly do more to get this program back to what it once was. We get just one chance to fix this.
  15. If you are in town, I think you should be okay.
  16. This is yet another test of our school's commitment to FCS football.
  17. This is something I have been concerned about for a long time. The BB fan base is getting older and grayer all the time. The Marilyn Haggertys of the world won't be around forever.
  18. http://www.crh.noaa....ry.php?site=fgf I plan on going home after work and staying there.
  19. I think we have, but I don't remember what year it was. That said, I am sick of losing to Team Putin on an international stage. They are the least classy team at this tournament year after year. And shame on Canadians for cheering for them; birds of a feather flock together, right?
  20. I didn't think the NHL let their U-20 players leave their teams for this tournament; minus a lockout year.
  21. I actually like this attitude and I think you will need it the next couple of years. But don't kid yourself, there are a lot of fair-weather bandwagon jumpers down in arrogantland that will suddenly find better things to do on autumn Saturday afternoons and evenings (Hey, The Best of Duck Dynasty is on, let's skip the game! ). Every fan base has them and you will find that out soon enough.
  22. I think Team USA has an advantage in not getting much media coverage back home. All they have to think about is playing hockey and enjoying the experience. Team Canada has to deal with the overwhelming expectations of a bunch of self-appointed internet hockey experts who think they know everything and who aren't bashful about savaging a 17 year old kid who made a bad pass out of the defensive zone or something similarly tragic. I think we all need to remember that these are high school aged kids playing a game, not highly paid NHL veterans. That being said, I am hungry for another medal (hopefully one made of gold). Go Team USA!!!
  23. Same here. It is independent of any job I might hold, so I control it myself.
  24. I was stuck in Minot for two weeks. The city I returned to bore no resemblance to the city I left.
