It is only a matter of time before the playoff field gets expanded to 8 teams. The SEC will complain about having too many of their teams being left out. The other conferences will complain about too many SEC teams being in the four-team field. And the TV networks and schools will soon realize how much $$$$$ can be made with an extra round of playoff teams. Everyone will be screaming for it, for different reasons.

This is about the absolute disaster the whole program became under Mussman. That will take a few years to clean up. This week, we lost two more guys (one quit and one was given his walking papers). That is what happens when you are rebuilding and it makes winning that much harder. I am sticking with this team thru thick and thin. How about everyone else?

That is how I feel about it. I am actually more flexible on choice of a new name than most people on here, but there are limits. Sun Dogs is a no-no. Flames is a no-no. Spirit is a no-no. And Green and White is a no-no. This is a decision that will live on long after all of us have left this world. I want it to be done right the first time.

I just don't see it happening. There are too many important groups (alumni, former athletes, current athletes) that will be up in arms if they don't at least pick something with some substance. Otherwise, Kelley will find himself retired sooner than he wanted.

This isn't about attendance at hockey, football or anything else. This is about having an identity and a marketable name and logo. The milktoast GW crap they are trying to sell now isn't going to catch on ever.

No, No, No, No!!! I don't care what other schools do. I care what MY school does. And "Green and White" is not an option.....EVER! PERIOD! I told people back in 2012 when Wayne Nelson and company started using "Green and White" as a substitute for "Fighting Sioux" that this would happen. It has gotten stuck in some people's heads because of the Heraldo and other media outlets. Having said all that, this won't happen. UND isn't going to have this long, drawn out process and then pick something so bland, generic and non-descriptive as "Green and White". They could do that without a "process" and they clearly have decided not to take that course.

Hey, not all of us are "hockey-only" fans. In fact, the "hockey-only" contingent is one of the biggest problems at UND right now, amongst others.

What women's sports are there that we could add that we don't have right now? Maybe someone can chime in on that?
