  1. If he isn't happy here for whatever reason, it is better he leaves. Nothing screws up a locker room more than a disgruntled player.
  2. Never is a long time. I wouldn't overreact to this. Bubba and his staff will continue recruiting top-notch talent. Day-by-Day.
  3. Maybe there was a culture shock he couldn't overcome.
  4. Well, use whatever adjective you like better. I was just asking the question. We cannot afford to lose depth right now. The next step forward in this program depends on getting and keeping talent.
  5. Who will be next to jump ship? This is getting old.
  6. I would be surprised if he didn't come back. He has a bright future ahead of him here.
  7. I feel the same way; I don't spend money on "division championship" merchandise. It was a big step forward for a team that was picked to not even get close to the playoffs, but I am holding out for bigger and better things.
  8. Well, with Spielman's skill in stockpiling draft picks, I think we can fill whatever needs we have.
  9. The defense is not a problem right now. OL and WR need serious upgrading.
  10. Spielman has done an outstanding job of building this team through the draft.
  11. With all due respect, we are talking about the current state of UND athletics outside of men's hockey and how it is unacceptable. This isn't only about WBB, the current state of the WBB team is just another symptom of what is wrong at UND with regard to our non-hockey athletic programs. And I think pointing out our overall Division I performance to date is not "clueless speculative conversation", it is pointing out problems that will not go away because some people on here want to wish them away or pretend they don't exist. I for one have had it up to my gills with the mediocrity in our non-hockey programs and I am sick of hearing why it has to be that way and that we should all just accept it and shut up. Because I will not do that. And remember, the opposite of love isn't hate, it is apathy. And that is what we must avoid.
  12. That line will live forever in Fighting Sioux hockey lore!!!
  13. And he almost fumbled it on the very next offensive play!!! I was yelling at the TV "One more fumble and AP needs to sit his butt on the bench".
  14. You just publically outed him! I think Lakes is a toolbox, but I don't know if outing people is appropriate, even the likes of him.
  15. I have nothing against Hammer. He just wanted a job with more predictable hours; I cannot blame him for that. But it does raise the question of who will take over? Maybe do a simulcast with the radio network? The Vikings do that for their preseason games and it works out pretty good. Then you wouldn't have to hire someone to replace Hammer.
  16. Oh yeah, we are in that time of the year when NFL playoffs conflict with Men's Hockey. I hate that.
  17. I didn't think the First Amendment applied to a private message board like this. But I digress..... I wasn't really aiming that comment at you, but at the growing portion of our fan base who seem just fine and dandy with the mediocre performances of several of our programs since we moved up. About 15 years ago, that wasn't as much the case. The fact of the matter is, NDSU is getting all kinds of positive national attention for their FB team and their MBB team and that is a great recruiting tool for the entire campus, both athletic and non-athletic programs. Their national profile is getting big enough to render us almost invisible outside of college hockey circles (we are becoming "that other school in North Dakota"). And that is unacceptable for the Flagship campus of the North Dakota University System (and Bison rubes, I know you hate hearing that, but that is what we are). The next President of this school needs to understand how valuable athletics can be to marketing all of our programs (academics and research included) or we will continue to become even more irrelevant outside of college hockey circles.
  18. Well, you'll be able to watch it on the Packer Television Network....oops, I mean Fox Sports.
  19. So you think this team's record is indicative of the talent level in the program? I say no. The men's team was supposed to struggle, but the women's team was supposed to contend for the Big Sky title. And they are not even close to that right now. If you think asking questions about it is out of line, then by all means don't say anything. But this is a discussion forum and I will vent on here if I feel like it. That is one of the purposes of a fan forum like this. Otherwise, this would be a boring place. Or maybe that is what you want? And it isn't my job to clean up the problems in our athletic department, it's Faison's and whomever gets hired to replace Kelley, who will be gone by the end of this week. It is quite clear that NDSU has had way more success at this Division I thing than we have (with a few exceptions here and there). And that is frustrating. And if that makes me "an entitled fan", then so be it.
  20. Speaking of Waynes, that guy is going to be a phenomenal CB in this league for a long time. He and Xavier Rhodes should be a solid 1-2 punch for us next year and beyond. Every dog has his day and our time will come! SKOL VIKINGS!!!
  21. SUCK PACK SUCK!!! Time for another beating in the desert.
  22. I am sick and tired of "tipping my hat" to other teams and other programs. It is all we ever do around here anymore and I am sick and tired of it. Our last national title in any sport was the 2001 Division II football title on December 8th, 2001 in Florence, AL. We used to stand for excellence, now we are just happy to have programs that are called Division I. It is high time we change that. First, hockey this April. Next, football either in 2016 or 2017. And Bison fans have absolutely no right to come on another team's message board and run their mouths. Trolling will get the same response from me, I don't care if they don't lose a single game for the next 10 years. You will be told to shut up, get lost and go back to Bisonville. I don't go onto other team's discussion forums and the Bison trolls on here should think about following the same rule for themselves.
  23. Hey, sometimes you have to look at the big picture and not dwell on the present. I like the direction this team is going and I am looking forward to the draft and next year.
  24. Now watch all this geniuses in social media try to blame this on Teddy. I think we should have went for the TD at the end and put all doubt to rest. But we'll be back next year with a team that is one more year old and wiser. Now we just need the Redskins to beat the Packers so Fox Sports can't slobber over Aaron Rodgers anymore.
  25. There is no reason this team should look this bad with the talent that is on the roster. Something is wrong behind the scenes and I hope it gets fixed one way or the other. This athletic department has enough underachieving programs as is (Women's Hockey, Men's Basketball, Volleyball); we don't need Women's Basketball to join that list.
