  1. We don't have the same level of incentive that Duluth has; they are fighting for their playoff lives, while we are almost assured of getting a #1 seed someplace. But I do think our team is sick of hearing about the 1-3 all time Frozen Faceoff record and I think they will come out and treat this like any other game.
  2. #ButtRPI
  3. Denver even has a dozen fans in their fan base?
  4. We had better grab some WRs in the draft this year. We have used free agency to shore up the OL, now it is time to get some receivers to stretch the field and open up holes for AP and some underneath passing routes.
  5. Exactly, putting a at the end of it would have made it clear that it was sarcasm.
  6. And hopefully, no flu bug sucking all the energy out of the players. That was part of the problem last year.
  7. Different year, different team.
  8. Look out, you are starting to sound "haughty".
  9. If they are smart, they'll drop down to FCS and join the Big Sky Conference. Or if they don't want to do that, they'll drop the program instead of trying to survive as an FBS Independent, which would drown the athletic department in a deep sea of red ink (regardless of how much Bowl money they get).
  10. I echo this. If the coaches deem it better to play the afternoon game on Friday, then I am on board with it.
  11. I was reading that last night and I was thinking the same thing.
  12. So you are going to measure a team's stock on preseason polls? You and I (and everyone else reading this) know that preseason polls aren't worth the paper they are printed on. And with some of the turmoil NDSU had to deal with during the season, to have them push SDSU to the limit in the title game is pretty good.
  13. You don't think they did all that great? I think they overachieved considering they weren't even close to being the best Slummit League team on paper this year.
  14. Yes, I really don't like UMD and their style of game. Lots of blocking and tackling. I hope they get called on it and we make them pay with PP goals. And this is a UND message board. If fans from opposing teams want to come on here and trash talk, they are going to get it right back. I don't go onto other team's discussion forums and make smart remarks. And I have no reason to call this team out; this is the most entertaining team we have had in several years.
  15. Hey, I didn't start this pal, a UMD fan started this. I am just having fun with it. Too bad you can't handle that.
  16. Uh......NOPE! I seem to remember back to back shutouts in Amsoil Arena. And it wasn't by the home team either. #haughtyatthefrozenfaceoff
  17. That would be the UMD Bulldogs. #haughtyandproudofit
  18. Good idea, when one is hopelessly nailed into a box, that person should just let it go.
  19. We'll cool his a$$ off, along with the rest of that team full of blockers and tacklers. We need to come out right away and set the pace and dare them to try and keep up with us.
  20. NDSU performed pretty well in the Slummit League tournament for a team with "injuries and locker room issues". Another feather in the cap of Richman and their program.
  21. Then by this logic, we should never accept invitations to tournaments like the CIT. And I wouldn't have a problem with that. It makes sense to focus 100% on making the tournament that everyone wants to be a part of, although if an NIT invitation ever came our way, I would want us to accept it.
  22. Here are back at the notion that UND is flat broke and can't afford to do anything about anything. Meanwhile, NDSU advertises all over creation (okay, the upper Midwest, but you get the point) and has to deal with the same budgetary issues that all NDUS schools have to deal with. Let Jones come back next season, but for heaven's sake, do NOT give him a big, fat extension. He hasn't earned it. Unless you think CIT berths are the benchmark of a low-major Division I basketball program.
  23. Saw this little tidbit in the Heraldo today: http://www.thedickinsonpress.com/sports/college/3985191-out-ncaa-and-nit-ndsu-mens-basketball-says-no-any-other-possible-postseason So instead of accepting an invitation to a lower-level tournament, Richman and his team will instead focus on being better next season so they can qualify for the tournament that matters. Setting high standards, what a concept! Around here, that is considered being "entitled" and "spoiled". But it really explains the difference in results between the two programs.
  24. If I am wrong, I will admit it. I will gladly eat crow if this team can win the Big Sky tournament and go dancing at a tournament other than the CIT.
