Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton Conversation
fightingsioux4life replied to UND-FB-FAN's topic in NCAA News
Denver and Omaha don't have football, but other than that, they should all have very similar offerings. -

A conference with the Dakota Schools (SDSU, NDSU, USD, UND), the Montana Schools (UM, MSU) and a few others (Omaha, Northern Colorado, Eastern Washington) would be awesome in so many ways. -

Well, the Summit didn't want us because of the "evil, insensitive" Fighting Sioux name and logo. But who knows what the future holds? -
The Actual Voting Process Announced
fightingsioux4life replied to The Sicatoka's topic in UND Nickname
I think the image most people have of Sundogs is the weather phenomenon and that is why it is not popular on here. A husky-like dog mascot would be much different, but the PC crowd might want to use the weather phenomenon so that it doesn't "offend" somebody. -

He is a junior this year, which means he was a freshman in 2013, Mussman's last year as HC.

This is why it is going to take a few years to get this program on the winning side of the ledger. Bubba is still cleaning house and until that process is finished, progress on the field will be slower than most of us would like.

SUCK PACK SUCK
-
Well, I was wrong. Is that what you wanted to hear?
-
But those standards have to be somewhat realistic. We need to remember just how bad things were when Bubba was hired. It is similar to starting a program from scratch.

Then the trolls need to get lost and go back to Bisonville. I don't waste my time over there; why do they waste their time here? Anyway, here is the quote that irritated me. It was in a different article than the one I was talking about: http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-football/3843120-und-football-notebook-lot-has-changed-und-ndsu This sounds like some unnecessary bitterness on Klieman's part. What in the world did the Bison D prove on Saturday against a very weak UND offense that still hasn't recovered from the coaching change? And why would Klieman and his players give a rat's behind what narrative the media chose to focus on? Klieman should be more worried about what happened vs. Montana; that could be a problem against the rest of MVFC.
-
Why don't you "move on" and go back to Bisonville?
-
And he can throw the ball off his back foot with the best of them. Mollberg is very athletic, but is too anxious to run and has super bad happy feet. I think Bartels should get a chance before Mollberg.
-
So that gives them license to do whatever they want whenever they want with no consequences? The rules apply to everyone, including almighty "FBS in our own minds" NDSU. And by the way, YOU are the one that's pathetic for defending this hit.
-
So should they give it back?
-
That 2011 GWC title is looking more and more expensive with each passing game. That was the title that prompted Faison to give Mussman a contract extension, which resulted in the gigantic mess we have right now. At the time, it was exciting to beat South Dakota at home with the furious comeback. In retrospect, it would have been better to lose that game.
-
Is he even available? Isn't he still recovering from that torn Achilles from last year?
-
Well, the Vikings won today, despite a bunch of stupid penalties (and I am talking to YOU Barr), so I really don't care about that.
-
No, the negative impact that Major Junior hockey has on college hockey is fair game.

http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-football/3843011-college-football-ndsu-rolls-past-und-34-9-rival-game You asked for it, you got it. If dominating an inept offense with a leaky O-line and very young players at key skill positions makes Klieman all warm and fuzzy inside, then so be it. But you should have been dominant against our offense and you were. This remark was more about the media chatter about UND's defense, which actually has some talent and toughness on it after years of being Charmin-soft. If Klieman feels that insecure about the media not focusing entirely on his team, then he better brace himself for when the Bison play other playoff-caliber teams this season. And as for feeling "all warm inside", you should feel that way if you read Wayne Nelson's column this morning: http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-football/3843114-wayne-nelson-bring-bison-again Based on this perspective, we might as well throw in the towel right now because the mighty Bison will be ruling the roost forever and a day. But the fact is nothing lasts forever and the day is coming when NDSU loses to UND in the playoffs. And I'll be enjoying every minute.

Shhhh, that topic is forbidden on this forum because "just being there" is now considered "just as good" as a national title. Seriously though, please ignore the ramblings of Benny "Hockey Rube" Baker.
-
Until we move up to FBS before NDSU does (for the record, I don't think either school should do that), I don't think you should use that line of thinking. NDSU is where we want our program to be at some point. Belittling FCS football is not classy or a particularly effective argument. Don't stoop to their level please.

Bubba has exactly one recruiting class to work with. One. And I don't count the class he put together right after he was hired; there isn't much left by that point in the recruiting season. The cupboard was more than bare when he took over, the cupboard itself needed rebuilding. And most of the defections after Mussman was fired were on offense. So this shouldn't surprise anyone. I don't think a judgment on Bubba's regime can be made for another two years. It will take that long for him to have enough of his guys in place; which is when we will be able to determine if he is doing it right or not.
-
With all due respect, you are wrong. And I wasn't talking about people driving in from 100 miles away, I was talking about people in the Grand Forks area who probably will forget we have a program until the team is playoff-caliber. I don't like that attitude, whether the sport is football or hockey or whatever. How does it look to recruits if we have 3,000 to 4,000 people per game in a stadium that seats over 10,000? That is my big concern. I am a season-ticket holder and unless I am sick or there is some sort of family emergency that comes up, I will be there for every home game, win or lose.
-
I think the coaching staff understands that changes need to be made on offense and they will probably do some experimenting this week in practice. Bubba knows that we won't win games against anyone putting up less than 100 yards of offense per game.
