  1. It happened to Bill Buckner in 1986, so I wouldn't put it past anyone.
  2. You and about a half million other people.
  3. Yeah, I would like to retire this one.
  4. Maybe it's cheaper for them to watch it at a pub than buy game tickets. Or they want to drink alcohol while they watch, which they can't do inside of the arena because the "moral supremacists" at the NCAA won't allow it.
  5. Well, they haven't won a natty since 2012, so they should watch their mouths. I think the last time we played them in the Frozen Four was the debacle in Denver in 2008 (which is what gave birth to my avatar! ), so living in the past is a bit of a waste of time. Besides revenge, the other reason to want them is so we get the last line change for the title game.
  6. I'll be at Ground Round in Grand Forks watching both semifinal games.
  7. Thanks for the insight, it makes more sense now.
  8. Yeah, I remember that.
  9. There are a lot of people that would contest this point. I think the NCAA uses it's tax exempt status to run a for-profit business inside a tax shelter.
  10. In 1987, the Vikings backed into the playoffs on the final weekend and they went all the way to the NFC Championship game. So once you are in, anything can happen.
  11. Well, it's like the title of one of those old James Bond films, "The World Is Not Enough". When it comes to $$$$$, it is never enough.
  12. This just came over the wire: http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/region/4003350-reports-entire-russian-u18-squad-replaced-failed-drug-tests Wow, this takes some of the excitement out of the USA-Russia opening game next week!
  13. How in the HECK are they making money at these regionals?
  14. Everything matters right now. All the teams are good and have talent, otherwise they wouldn't be here. So everybody has to bring their A games (coaches, players, captains, alternates).
  15. Well, whomever wants to do it this way better not b!tch and moan about the lack of revenues and/or fans at these games. Because that isn't going to change anytime soon.
  16. This is the big elephant in the room. The NCAA is causing the problems with the regionals by having them in neutral sites where attendance is terrible. The model is not sustainable and it needs to change to something better for the fans and the bottom line.
  17. Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
  18. That rule applies if one of the teams is from the NCHC and the other team is from, let's say, Hockey East. But both UND and Denver are NCHC teams, so the threat of conference bias is not there.
  19. I think Denver was struggling in the first half and pulled it together in the second half. When they swept us, we were coming off a bye week, we had the flu virus in the locker room, we had some players coming off of injuries who were rusty and the altitude was giving us trouble. Those things are not in play this time, so I expect a solid two goal victory on Thursday.
  20. I am already starting to get nervous.
  21. "You have to remember that no one in MN would want to listen to that." That will elicit a response on this forum and that is trolling.
  22. Beyond the Pond not talking about the Frozen Four because the Gophers aren't in it is like KFAN not talking about the Final Four because the Gophers aren't in it. If they want to cater to the Gophers most of the time, fine, go ahead. But to not talk about a major postseason college tournament because the home town team isn't in it is a little ridiculous.
