I actually prefer playing teams like this vs. the clutch-grab-blocking-tackling teams. The action flows back and forth and is very fun to watch.

Based on some of the stories I read and/or hear about, the major problem in youth sports isn't the kids, it's the parents and (sometimes) the coaches. This story doesn't surprise me in the least. -
I think that was the game when Ann Just hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer. It was the season before our first NCAA title.
-
So what you are saying is that it just isn't realistic? Or feasible?
-
I would like us to take steps in that direction. We just seem to underachieve too much.
-
Yeah, I like your version better.

Yeah, because it's all about keeping more of the gate. Building a solid mid-major program just isn't economically feasible. -

Yeah, because our climate is just too cold to build a solid, consistent team. -
We need to develop a mentality that when teams come to the Alerus Center, we win and they lose, no matter how good they are.
-
No, based on the past couple of years. We went to the NCAA tournament one year with some of Roebuck's leftover players and we have been average to slightly above average ever since. I seem to be hearing this every time we lose a game. "Well, this loss will make us better." "Well, that loss made us a better team.". "Well, we couldn't expect to win this game against this team, but this will make us better." We are racking up the moral victories. What we should ask ourselves is, why aren't we more like SDSU? Why aren't we making more strides from year to year? I am not calling for a coaching change; I am just noticing a pattern from year to year with this team and it is a little frustrating.
-
Anyone else feel like this will be another average year for WBB?
-
That is a cheap shot. Siouxperfan7 is one of the biggest supporters of all our programs and is also a friend of mine. Try to keep it classy, will you?
-
All he did is talk about what we lose. He could have talked about what we have coming in or players we should keep an eye on once Spring ball starts up.
-
If Miller thinks we are going to take a step back in 2017, he should just come out and say it.
-
Wow, Miller makes it sound like we have nothing coming back and we are in big trouble in several areas! I don't think things are that dire.

Agree with this 1000%! If this is "just a game", this forum wouldn't even exist. I will never apologize for being an enthusiastic supporter of our programs and never apologize for being disappointed in a loss, especially like the one on Saturday night. 2017 cannot come soon enough!

The confidence Bison fans have in their team has been built up over 5 years of last-second victories and championships. They didn't always have that confidence. We will develop that confidence, but it doesn't happen in a vacuum, it has to happen organically. I was feeling pretty good Saturday night.....until that idiotic reverse play call that lost 8 yards and killed what was a very successful run-oriented drive. Then of course, the Bill Buckner-esqe running into the kicker penalty got the ball rolling against us. Like I have said before: two steps forward, one step back.

Really? The idea that this team will now take a dive and not get another chance at the "brass ring" is pure overreaction. Come on Vindy, I know you and you are smarter than that. The point Sicatoka was making is that Bubba's house isn't finished yet and yesterday was another painful reminder of that fact. Two steps forward; one step back. That is how programs evolve. Did NDSU's loss at EWU in 2010 ruin their future prospects? No, and neither will what happened yesterday ruin our future prospects.
-
If Rudolph hadn't called so many passes when we were getting 4-5 yards per carry, I think we would have exceeded 150 yards on the ground. And perhaps even won the game.
-
Thank you for the kind remarks. Depth is our main issue and we will need to keep recruiting talented guys to build it. Also nice to have a game without a boatload of penalties. You don't have a cheap team and I like that.
-
I do not see that happening under Bubba. He is the perfect coach for our program at this point in time.
-
Great.....now we have ESPN rubbing our noses in it. This is going to be a long, painful offseason. PS: Trolls will get ZERO patience from me. Come on here and taunt us and you will be told off.

I believe Mike Berg pointed that out on the radio.
