  1. I have no problem continuing to play Manitoba to kick off the season.
  2. After hanging #8, I think Berry has plenty of slack on his leash.
  3. To be fair, almost everyone in the building thought it was an incomplete forward pass except for the zebras and Gordon.
  4. I saw that too. Does Schlossman (who I am warming up to, believe it or not) really think we won't win another natty for 30 years? I hope that isn't what he meant because that is crazy talk. During our 16 year long championship drought, there were a couple of 30+ win teams who had single digit loss totals and a bunch of 25+ win teams with loss totals in the low teens. I don't think last year's team was a once in a generation occurrence. We aren't the Butler of NCAA Division I hockey, we are more like Duke, North Carolina or Kansas.
  5. It's a good thing the Olympics are before football season starts or that wouldn't be on either.
  6. Hey now, comments like that sometimes come back to bite you in the a$$. Miami is a solid program and they aren't going anywhere.
  7. My pick for Funny Post of the Year.
  8. Hope she doesn't read this forum or you'll be sleeping on the couch tonight!
  9. The scalpers that work outside of Mariucci Arena would disagree with you.
  10. Well, Bubba and his staff are going to do whatever they can to bring home an FCS title. Think big and you will likely have success. Think small and that is what you will have to settle for.
  11. I was talking about financial support to fund coaches salaries, recruiting, etc. If that isn't there, the wins won't be there. And you better get used to comparisons to NDSU because they are our sister institution in North Dakota and the region. It's the best measuring stick we have, albeit not perfect.
  12. The problem is that some people think hockey being #1 means absolutely nothing else matters. That is not the kind of attitude that breeds success throughout the athletic department. And if we don't give "top notch support" for FB now, a run of FCS titles will never happen. I like what President Kennedy is pushing for: quality over quantity. If cutting 2 to 3 sports helps us better fund FB, MBB and WBB, I am all for it.
  13. We had some Friday night FB games at the Alerus Center in 2001; I guess we could have done that for this game.
  14. Welcome to our dysfunctional little family!
  15. Makes perfect sense to me. SKOL VIKINGS!!!
  16. So what will you do if it is those teams in the Super Bowl?
  17. I think the Cubs will be scratched off that list in a couple of months. And listing every team that has never won a title in the post-merger era is kind of overkill. Some of those teams haven't been around that long (Jaguars and Panthers).
  18. You are right about the Patriots. And no, I do NOT secretly like the Packers, I have hated that team as long as I can remember.
  19. So we aren't allowed to get excited about our team? Or is that "privilege" reserved for Packer Nation and their sycophants in the sports media?
  20. Yeah, they were too busy putting together their next Packers suck-up segment.
  21. Yeah, how could we call the Gophers "rodents" if we are Flickertails (another version of a "rodent")? Fighting Hawks is unoriginal, but I can live with it.
  22. Unless you think the Heidlebaugh kid from Rugby is ready to step in, Studsrud is our best option.
  23. That might have been during the Lions' 0-16 campaign back in 2008-09.
  24. This franchise needs a complete and total rebuild from the ground up. No "tweaking", no "readjusting".....a total house cleaning.
  25. Also, Burns doesn't seem to understand that if the fans, who paid good money to sit there and watch the game, want to express their displeasure at the lack of offensive production, that is their right. Nobody forced Burns and Schnelker to get into coaching, where every decision you make is scrutinized by the media. I don't think Burnsie could have coached in today's social media age, he would have ended up having a heart attack at some point.
