  1. Power Play has been an issue for as long as I can remember. It doesn't seem to matter who we put out there, we are better even strength.
  2. Why hasn't NDSU sustained this many injuries at once? I don't know, maybe because this almost never happens. I have never seen anything like this before. It is inexplicable. And NDSU has spent years building depth at all positions so that injuries don't slow them down. Craig Bohl, as big of a prick as he is, built the foundation for what they have right now. And it started during their D-I transition, while we wasted ours losing to Sioux Falls and scheduling powerhouse teams like SD Mines. We are still working to overcome the bad decisions of the past decade. But if you think regime change is the answer, by all means keep pushing for it.
  3. And there are always those guys that come in unheralded and end up being beasts on the ice (Drake Caggiula immediately comes to mind). So don't give up on finding some diamonds in the rough with this group.
  4. I just think you are pushing the panic button way too early. It isn't March, it's October. I learned a long time ago, with some difficulty, that judging a team based on what happens the first couple of weeks of October is foolhardy. I am taking a one game at a time approach to this. And we do have some highly-rated recruits coming in the next couple of seasons. Unless those Major Junior parasites latch onto them before they can get to campus.
  5. But some people will insist that we have no excuse not to win today. No team, not even mighty NDSU, could sustain this many injuries at one time and still keep rolling along like nothing happened. This season cannot end soon enough.
  6. You mean like BU's "Diaper Dandies" last year? The ones that have already left for the NHL or Major Juniors? I don't know if The John Calipari Method necessarily works in hockey. It is too soon to judge this team. If they still are struggling to get pucks to the net around Christmas time, then I will start being concerned.
  7. This is what most of us expected. Solid in goal. Solid on the blue line. Lots of growing pains up front. These guys have tons of speed and skill, but they have to learn how to use it at this level. The young guys also need to learn that you must bring it for 60 minutes, not 10 or 20 or 30, if you want to win games at this level. The line combos will figure themselves out. Looking forward to tonight.
  8. Well, we have hockey at home vs. St. Lawrence to focus on. Even though Schlossman thinks we will split.
  9. How many people even follow college wrestling? And I was responding to the comment referring to hockey as a "fake sport". It is not and I think you know that. Next question.
  10. Here is the answer to your question: As long as FU fans keep spewing garbage like that, I will continue throwing D-I hockey in their faces. They could establish their own program and eventually have success with it, but they are too afraid of us. #thetruthhurts #inconvenienttruths
  11. First good news we have had on the injury front in a long time.
  12. And once we get past all the injuries and Mary Jane incidents, we'll get even bigger crowds as this program begins to have big-time success. We are closer to that than most people think.
  13. You make some good points. But you cannot deny that our success in recruiting Minnesota kids started with Blais. Before Blais, very few Minnesotans would even think of coming to North Dakota. If it wasn't for Blais, Parise, Brady Murray, Brandon Bochenski and others would have worn the Maroon and Gold (ugh, the thought of it makes me ill).
  14. It is nice that the coaches have lots of options at their disposal. Competition in practice will make all these guys better.
  15. Yes it was, which is why it was a close game. The Bears are tough at home, but when they are on the road, they are terrible. I suspect the game at U.S. Bank later this year will be a blow-out in favor of the Purple.
  16. I don't like where this season is apparently going. Looks like the Women's team will be much better this year.
  17. I was going to post that myself!
  18. The Bears can be tough at home (pushed Atlanta to the limit, beat Pittsburgh), but are absolute garbage on the road. Last night was further proof of that. It was also further proof that Bradford is not healthy and needs to sit until he is. A win is a win and I'll take it. SKOL VIKINGS!!!
  19. I said cheerlead, NOT "say anything positive about the Bison". Please get your facts straight if you are going to talk about my posts.
  20. Well, stick around long enough and you will.
  21. Our season is shot. All I want is for our young guys to get some quality reps and real game experience. And if you make a deep playoff run, I will not continue talking about your OOC schedule. I believe I said that earlier. You obviously didn't read all of it.
  22. They put up a fight against SDSU at home.
  23. I said FOUR out of the first Five. Nice try though. And I think Montana State could challenge for the top of the BSC. It is not a lock that EWU will win it.
  24. If this happens (Cratter thinks it never will), we better position ourselves in Tier II and not Tier III.
